This is Amber's story. Web of Lies has plenty of suspense and actionto keep the reader entertained. An exmakes a surprise visit, then the police, and then the killers. It's a tough situation for this young mother.

Christina James does a wonderful jobkeeping up the suspense and the tension. The first part of the book, I wasn't too thrilled with Cody, thehero. He seemed very stuffy and plainout rude. It is a cop's job to get downto the truth, but the way he did things just didn't make him likable at first.

Overall,the story was great and was filled with many twists and turns that I didn't seecoming. If you enjoy romantic suspense,this is a great story to add to your reading pile.

This is a suspenseful and sweet storythat I couldn't put down. I'm alwaysdrawn to a book that involves twins, especially if one is in trouble. Deception didn't disappoint. Right from the get go I was drawn into theplot. Patti makes for a strongheroine. She has to face her past, andalso find her sister.

Lillian Duncan is an author towatch. She spins tales of mystery anddrama with characters that you can relate to. They are believable and bring the pages to life with the dialogue andaction.

Ifyou like a mix of suspense and inspirational fiction, Deception is a bookfilled with that and much more.

It's fast paced, enjoyable, and hascharacters that were well thought out. Bailey and Talos' story keeps up the tension.

The paranormal genre has so many levelsof creation, and each story set in that genre comes up with something uniqueevery day. Allie Standifer does justthat with a blend of paranormal, suspense, and intrigue.

Readers, if you like a paranormal novelwith demons and plenty of action, here's the book for you.

What a beautiful story! Loving Rose is full of characters that facesituations in relation to real life. Rose and Mike's second chance story brought a smile to my face and tearsto my eyes. The rising tension of Rose's secret was intense and while it onlytook me a little while to guess what it was, I still didn't know the wholestory until the author showed through flashbacks what happened.

LindaHope Lee writes such great contemporary stories. Won't you give Loving Rose a shot and fall inlove as I did?

Review:

Alphavs. Alpha by Francesca Hawley was one powerful read. Heat and magnetism jumped off the pages. I loved Serena’s call it like it is sexy,dominating personality offset by Damien’s very alpha attitude. Seeing them go toe to toe felt very real andintense. I literally wanted to grab aspray bottle to douse myself off with. The red hot sex set off my internal alarms for near system melt down onthe laptop. I loved that she ran adating service and that he was a partner in a law firm. Those two careers were meant to collide! Serena handled her workers well including thatof a meddling family member who needed to be handed his ass…literally. Serena had her soft moments though theydidn’t shine near as much as her bossy side, her internal strife regardingmating and how to find balance with a mate made me sigh. Damien’s fortitude in giving her space mademe smile. I enjoyed every piece of thisstory and would recommend it to anyone who wants a super-nova hot read with agreat plot.

BedroomEyes by Desiree Holt led me into a heartfelt story of a young woman strugglingwith self-image caused by the cultivation of years of cruel words, looks andthe way people react to disfigurement. Bridget deserves her shinning night and no one was happier than I whenshe found a way to live her life’s greatest desire even if she went about it inan underhanded way. I both understoodher need for her faceless identity and felt sad that she couldn’t trust Claywith her secret need to hide herself away. I loved the foundation that helped her and the words of wisdom that cameher way that all might not turn out as she planned.

Claygrabbed me from the start. I love thosewho protect our country and he was a top of the line perfect hero for thisheroine, even though she didn’t see it at the time. I knew deep down what she considered herdisfigurement wouldn’t have made him turn from her. I’d loved to have seen him hold her handduring the procedure and to know that there’s more to love than what’sphysical. Their connection in that onenight of passion and their reconnection proved that chemistry is based on justmore than what can be seen with the bare eye. Lord for a moment I thought he wouldn’t forgive her and my heart justplummeted. This story made me cry, mademe laugh and exhausted me, but it’ll be a memorable one. I can’t wait to read the next instalment ofthe Skin Deep series.

Candy and Levi are as different as nightand day. Neither one is sure about theother, but after being pushed together on a blind date, they had to give it awhirl. Yes, the sparks are there, but the hesitance (at least in Candy's case)is there when it comes to thinking in the long term. She loves the city, and Levi....well,doesn't.

Candy's Kisses is fun, erotic, and allaround a great read. The beginningdidn't hold much attention for me, but after a few chapters, I was able to getmore emotionally invested in the book. Iwanted to see where this would go. Thecover and title really grabbed me and after all was said and done, I'm glad Ipicked up the story to read.

If you like a story with opposites as thehero and heroine and enjoy erotic romances, then don't think twice aboutgetting some of Candy's Kisses.

A blast of humor, a dash of mystery, anda pinch or two of romance, The Estrogen Posse is a romp of fun! The characters are so quirky and unique, andthe plot is filled with action and drama. Sharon De Vita writes with such humor and spunk that this book was hardto put down. The author really put a lotof time into the characters because I felt various emotions for each of them,depending on the scene.

The book revolves around Ellie, and whata heroine she is. Despite being facedwith life altering events, she holds herself well and has to learn to adapt anddeal. The cast of people around her help bring this story to life and make itcharming.

This is one of the most refreshing booksI've read in awhile. If you love genre'sblended into one great novel, then don't miss The Estrogen Posse.

Intriguing and fast paced, I enjoyed thisbook greatly. I didn't want to doanything else. My mind came racing backto this book, needing to know what would happen next. Bess McBride created such lively charactersand a plot that is full of twists and turns. The book is in first person, featuring the heroine, Molly. With a cast of characters that are unforgettable,this book stole my heart, left me with a smile on my face.

Ifyou're a fan of time travel romances, then I'd suggest getting a copy of Acrossthe Winds of Time. I want to know whatelse Ms. McBride has to offer. I'm a newfan!

His strong will keeps him from heedingArianne's advice not to cross the portal into Hell where he is tortured byBathin for months. While in Hell, his inner deahmon is awakened andstrengthened because he touches the stone. The one thing that keeps him from giving up is Arianne. Throughout thestory, his connection to her is established and reinforced. While he is in Hell, it is her image thatkeeps him fighting for his life, once he returns it is her touch that allowshim to control the demon within. LikeArianne, he has the drive to prove himself. Their goal of destroying the stone, and ultimately Bathin, is thesame. Their ideas of accomplishing thistask are very different. He must learnto compromise and give himself over to Arianne mind, body, and soul.

Theexistence of a race and the security of Earth are on the line as these twoindividuals join forces to battle the evil that is Bathin and the deahmonrace. The chemistry between Arianne andDarien is unmistakable and the passion they share both sexually and in thepursuit of realizing their goals keeps the reader engaged. Although I enjoy the tension the authorbuilds and the descriptive scenarios of bondage and love making, I found myselfflipping through pages in order to get back to the plot of the book. The scales were tipped in favor of impassionedlove making scenes where plot could have been thickened and characterdevelopment could have taken place. There just didn't seem to be balance. A great book for the reader who enjoys erotic fantasy, a decent book forthe reader who prefers action and adventure with amativeness woven in.

Dee is a woman who is standing up for what she believes in. Currently, that is trying to get developers to leave a legendary Fairy Gate where it is. The gate is important to the people in her village, including her grandmother.

Alexander is the one trying to convince the villagers. They're not budging. They want to leave the Fairy Gate. I'm not fond of Alex for most of the book. He's one of those money hungry people that doesn't care about what others feel about landmarks. He just acts businesslike.

Dee's best friend is pushing her towards dating Alex. I don't find that very realistic, because why would a friend push her towards a man who is going against what she believes? I don't understand that thinking at all.

Other than that, the story is enjoyable. The tension is definitely there, as the pair stands on opposing sides of thinking. How are they going to resolve the biggest issue that could keep them apart? Bull at the Gate is a good contemporary story. If you enjoy contemporaries with plenty of conflict and tension, then don't miss out on Bull at the Gate.

In Dead, Undead and Somewhere in Between, we are basically left hanging. Wondering... oh no what will happen next, The Renfield Syndrome picks up exactly where Dead, Undead leaves off. The Renfield Syndrome continues as smoothly as if it was just the next chapter. It does, however, also leave you hanging, waiting for the next book, because again there are so many changes that we need to know...what will happen next.

In the first instalment Rhiannon learns to trust and love. She finally lets her hair down and tries on a relationship. Throughout Dead, Undead though, I suspected there was someone on the side, watching this relationship develop and wishing it were him instead. The Renfield Syndrome moves from the development of Rhiannon, to the education of Rhiannon. Now she has been thrown 101 years into the future by flippantly accepting a deal with a demon. In the future, everything she just earned is gone. People are blood slaves. The world is a wasteland. Demons are masquerading as vampires, driving the destruction.

Rhiannon must find Disco and deliver a message in order to complete the Demon's deal. But before she can do that, she'll have to escape the compound of a lovesick werewolf and his crazy werewolf stalkerette. Carter, the werewolves' leader, had Rhiannon scooped up by his team, the instant she stepped out of the past. He intends to keep her for himself, for her own good of course, he explains. Once that issue is dealt with, Rhiannon discovers that Disco is dead. He has been for 101 years. Deals with demons never work out like you think. In this world, demons are in charge and they are interested in Rhiannon.

Paine, steps forward and claims Rhiannon before the demon in charge can have her way. It seems that on Disco's passing Rhiannon's mark passed to Paine. He is more than happy with that arrangement and has been waiting 101 years for her. Over time, Goose and Paine had figured out what happened to Rhiannon, but they did not know when she'd reappear. Paine has been waiting a long time to touch someone, and Rhiannon is the only person that fits the bill.

So, in this instalment, let's call it educating Rhiannon, Rhiannon learns there are consequences to brash acts. Love has many forms, even if some of them start as heartrending empathy. And finally, you can't go home again, even when you can. To do that, she lost the love she found with Disco, as he no longer trusts her and she has a small piece of future Paine in her heart. Rhiannon has not learned enough though, to know that you probably shouldn't make deals with fallen angels either. To return home, save Disco and save the human race, Rhiannon enters into a deal with a fallen angel to free her in one years’ time. Has she forgotten, aren't fallen angels... devils? What could possibly go wrong with this arrangement? We'll have to wait for book three to see. The Renfield Syndrome is an excellent weekend read.

From the get-go, Veiled Mirror grabbed my attention. With plenty of suspense, and a small touch of paranormal, this is one of the best romantic suspense books I've read in a long time. There's deceit, murder, lies...I was left guessing the whole way through. I worried for Beth, cried for her family that died, and was at the edge of my seat, hanging on to every word because I never knew what to expect next.

Frankie Robertson is a new-to-me author, and from my journey with this book, I will be keeping an eye out for more. The characters are so well created, the tension is high and it never wavers. I stayed up late into the night-hours to finish this book. I read it in one sitting, not wanting to miss a thing, yet I didn’t want it to end either.

Kudos to you, Frankie Robertson. You've created an amazing suspenseful story. Readers, if you're a romantic suspense fan, add this book to your list right away.

Bahama Breeze is a sweet and funny romance that will leave the reader with a smile on their face after the story is over. A refreshing story, it's fairly light and very comical. I enjoyed the turn of events in the book. Anna and Sonny are unique characters that were well thought out and they shined brightly through the pages.

I enjoyed this story, with all its quirky, amusing moments that happened throughout the plot. Anna works for the government, but she is quite forgetful in some aspects, like using a security code when she makes phone calls. It’s simple things such as those that make Anna a well rounded, believable character that readers can relate to on various aspects. Sonny has his moments, too, and the path to the pairs HEA is quite humorous.

Readers, if you enjoy a sweet romance guaranteed to make you laugh, don't miss Bahama Breeze.

It has its own unique appeal in the paranormal market, and readers who love reading about psychics, shape-shifters, and many things of the paranormal, this book may appeal to you.

Syrena must learn to embrace her powers. She knows she's different, but doesn't fully understand how to embrace them. Ronan, her protector, shows her a whole new world. But there's a reason Ronan is there, to keep her safe from harm, and it's hard to remember that when he's very attracted to Syrena.

This book kept me interested the entire time. This author, Nicole North, creates a captivating story with strong leading characters. If I saw another book with this writer's name on it, I would most definitely check it out.

If you love the paranormal genre and are looking for a great voice, pick up a copy of Blade of the Wolf.

A Little Death by Scarlett Parrish is an interesting story that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. The main characters of the story are Mallory, Jonathan, and Cian. However, I really enjoyed the banter between Mallory and her friend Duncan. The two of them had me laughing out loud.

Jonathan is a vampire and has become smitten with Mallory. He starts a yearning in Mallory that only he can quench. Cian is also a vampire that makes Jonathan’s life miserable by honing in on and hurting anyone that is important to Jonathan. Cian is a slippery, conniving, miscreant that, as a reader, you just want to smack upside the head. Jonathan does what he can to protect Mallory from Cian. There is plenty of mystery and suspense surrounding both Cian and Jonathan. The suspense keeps the pages turning.

Jonathan’s conscience and his need and love for Mallory make the erotic love scenes sizzle on the page. Mallory is a strong, independent woman, but she is putty in Jonathan’s hands.

This story is a wonderful addition to any paranormal romance lover’s library.

Chapter Three

I always leave Grandma Rose’s apartment with a smile on my face and an ache in my heart. I wish my mother were like her. How lucky for my mom to have such a wonderful, almost normal, mother. I’m stuck with a parent in an ever-present state of adolescence, whose life’s mission is to desperately hang onto what’s left of her looks. My mom, with her rat’s nest of hair stacked high on her head, dyed cherry red with chunky blonde highlights and dark brown lowlights, and extensions thrown in for good measure. A woman can’t ever have too much hair, she’s forever saying. Giving me her version of what passes as parental advice. I prefer Gran’s words of wisdom – “extensions make a woman look trampy” and “dye your hair only when the white comes in.” It seems more dignified, because I think a woman can have too much hair.

Dad’s just as bad, with his funky jeans, Ed Hardy T-shirts, pointy-toed boots, pierced ears, tattoos and a soul patch. He’s going to be fifty next year, for God’s sake. The thought makes me cringe. I live with dim-witted middle-aged teenagers.

Gran tells me all the time it’s not what’s on the outside that’s important and I know she’s right. I suppose I’m a bit of a hypocrite, since I’m always complaining about my weight or my height, or the fact I don’t have a boyfriend. But I’m supposed to be obsessed with fitting in and with my looks; after all, I’m the teenager.

It’s only a ten-minute walk home from Gran’s. I tilt my face toward the sun, soaking in the warmth of the spring day as I make my way along familiar streets. When I approach the park on the corners of Whiteside Avenue and Moorehouse Drive, I stop dead. Sudden dread causes the beat of blood to fill my ears.

There are three boys and a girl - Nino Campese, Tyler Campbell, his girlfriend Julia and Jon Kingsbury. They’re seniors like me and even though we’ve known each other since kindergarten, once adolescence hit and separated the weak from the strong, the cool from the nerd, I became prey. I was hunted by those better looking, and with more attitude, simply for their entertainment.

I plunge my hands into the pockets of my jean jacket and hang my head. Taking large quick steps, I tread quietly. They’re talking and laughing and the foul scent of cigarette smoke wafts past me in the breeze. From the corner of my eye, I spot Julia and Tyler sharing a butt as they cling together under the large plastic orange slide. Nino’s holding court and Tyler’s laughing at something Nino has said and Jon, well Jon just stands there, looking bored.

Why is he with them? My heart sinks. I thought Jon was different.

Tyler’s eyes flicker my way; immediately I pick up my pace.

“Hey!” someone yells.

I don’t answer.

“Where do you think you’re goin’, ya fat cow?” Nino hollers, as he jogs up beside me followed by Julia and Tyler.

“Home,” I say, not stopping.

Nino jumps into my path. “Where’s your girlfriend, Savullo?” He sneers and spits a snotty gob at my feet.

“Lesbo freak,” Julia chimes in and flicks a butt at my face.

It bounces off my chin with a burning sting. I glare down at her with her hawkish nose and eyes that are too close together. “Get out of my way,” I growl through gritted teeth and try to step around them, but Tyler grabs my elbow, his fingers bite into my flesh and a small groan escapes me.

“We’re not done talkin’ yet, hippo,” he snarls.

I yank free. Tears sting my eyes and the heat of anger and embarrassment reddens my face.

“Leave me alone!” I scream and push. Tyler’s tall, but skinny and I manage to knock him on his ass. But as soon as I take a step, Nino and Julia are on me.

“Leave her alone,” Jon calls. He hung back from the action and is still standing by the orange slide.

I slam a shoulder into Julia’s face and hear a crunch as my bulk meets her nose. Blood spurts and the purple blur of manicured nails flash past, as she whips a hand to her face.

She gazes up at me in surprise. “You broke my nose, you bitch!” Then she looks at Tyler with eyes that say “you better do something about this.”

My heart beats so hard, the swishing of blood in my ears is a roar. They’re swearing, yelling and threatening me, but panic has taken over as adrenaline pushes into my veins, and I make out nothing coherent.

I turn and try to run back the way I’d come. But another hand is on me, biting the flesh of my upper arm through the fabric of my jacket. Then a fist smashes into the back of my head. “You’re nothin’ but a fat dyke.”

My knees smack the gritty concrete as my legs buckle, and deep heaving sobs erupt from me. Why do they hate me?

“Where the hell did she go?” Nino asks, his voice laced with astonishment.

“Holy shit!” Julia and Tyler exclaim at the same time. “What the…?”

Slowly, I pivot and look at them. They’re turning in circles, searching for me.

Jon is with them now. “She’s gone,” he whispers in wide-eyed disbelief.

“What? How?” Nino asks.

Review:

This was definitely an erotic tale with a BDSM theme. The relationship between Johan and Myriel was that of a D/s. The reader gets to see the beginning formation and progression of Johan’s mastery of Myriel. Even though Myriel submits to Johan, it still felt like it was a more equal relationship because Johan wanted her to be happy. Their love scenes are erotic and hot. Sindra van Yssel played up the historical angle when choosing bondage toys.

The Barbarian and the Witch was an enjoyable story, but there just seemed to be too much going on all at once. It felt as though I missed a preceding story that would have provided background information on the characters, world, and setting. In addition, at some points the story felt disjointed as if the “story” was interrupting the sex scenes instead of flowing seamlessly. I was a little disappointed with the ending. Instead of giving us a look into their future, it ended with another sex scene and a bunch of characters that were never introduced in the story before that point.

If you love your stories with hot, erotic sex, BDSM themes, and D/s play this story has them all. Even with the short comings I mentioned, it is still worth the read because Sindra van Yssel spins a creative tale.

She's a woman suffering a double tragedy, losing two people she loves. As time moves forward, Sophie still has a hard time letting go. She can't seem to move on. She makes a very rash choice which then leads her to Trevor.

Trevor can't seem to forget about the woman he saved. He and Sophie end up working together and that leads to so much more.

Sophie's anguished emotions really show in the book. Reprieve is the story of Sophie coming to terms with what she lost and learning how to go forward.

I enjoyed this story for the most part. Through about half of the book, I really disliked Trevor's character. I know he was hurt by something, but that was no excuse for him to be so blatantly cold and rude to Sophie. Some of the things he said were harsh and horrible, and Sophie shouldn't have taken that. That's the only downfall I felt in this book.

If you enjoy heart wrenching emotional stories, then don't miss Scarlett Scott's Reprieve. Prepare yourselves, readers, for your emotions might get the best of you throughout this story.

It’s supposed to be just business with a side of sex. If only it were that simple. Jazzmyn’s sinful curves and aptitude for red-hot loving ramp up his libido…and a whole lot more.
Review:

I was intrigued by the suspense plot, but there are a few things that fell short with me. I know this is an erotic romance, but I felt in certain places, there was sex just for the sake of having sex. I find it hard to believe that a cop would have sex with a dancer almost immediately after he meets her and needs her information to take down a villain. Because that started out so early on in the story, it took away my trust in the hero. Jazzmyn's character was more believable and likeable.

The plot was riveting enough that I continued to read. I wanted to know how things would end, and what would happen between Jazzmyn and Ryder.

If you like erotic romantic suspense, then you may enjoy Strip Down.

Imaginative and distinct, A Familiar Tangle With Hell stands apart from other Angels vs. Demons Armageddon stories. Bound together through their DNA, the relationship between Tina and her demon, Charun, is much deeper than the standard partnership of Witches and Familiars. Their love for each other grows as the danger increases and the erotic encounters between the two sizzle with explosive magic. Charun’s divine beginnings and demonic status creates a complicated and intriguing character who effectively uses the benefits of his torn existence to not only protect his soul mate but the world as well. After averting Armageddon once and becoming a witch to do so, Tina has honed her skills and is just learning to embrace her new reality when she realizes it is she who is to be the catalyst for Lucifer to wage the ultimate (and possibly final) war between good and evil.

Lucifer, as written by Sapphire Phelan, does not disappoint in all of his sadistic, malevolent, but contrarily sensual pursuit of domination over the heavens and earth. “The Big L” instils fear as well as lust no matter what form he takes throughout the tale. A wide cast of supporting characters on each side of the Good vs. Evil battle create a web of sub plots that adds to, rather than distracts the reader from, the general excitement of the story. From an Archangel turn coat to the fluffy and seemingly harmless soul eating demon bunny, each creature is written with creative vision.

The Holy and Unholy clash at the climax of the story in an epic war, keeps the reader flipping pages furiously. Mortality and all its weaknesses are exploited during the battle, leading the reader on an emotional roller coaster thrill ride. Life will never again be the same for Tina, Charun, or even fluffy, and this book creates a wonderful platform for a continuation to their saga.

Editing oversights and some repetitive dialogue keeps this book from ranking higher during my evaluation, but this book is fantastic read and is a great addition to any paranormal lover’s library.

Review:

Rocked by Barbara Elsborg is an interesting read. Pepper a young woman works as a stone mason apprentice for Alessandro, a man she is attracted to but doesn’t approach. Her twin sister and family don’t treat her kind. Upon chance she sees Eli who comes to life only inside buildings and returns to gargoyle statue when under the open sky. Alessandro thinks she’s mad, but that doesn’t stop him from pursuing her.

Eli can’t believe he’s stuck in stone or what happened to have him cursed. All he knows is his body hungers for satiation each time he awakens. His blood burns for Pepper and Alessandro if they’ll have him. He also itches to find the supernatural connection to the museum he normally perches on. With people out to take the statue back, Alessandro will find those in his employ he can’t trust.
The three of them find burning passion together and more while working together to make Eli a man once more. Pepper searches to find more about herself and what draws her to the unknown. The end of the story was surprising in a way that made me go hmm. Although I didn’t find the ending plausible it was still ad intriguing read.

Shifting Heat is part of the Storm Series. In this action packed story written by Lynn Connolly, we’re taken into the lives of Fae a misguided strong woman and Andros a young computer nerd. Fae whole-heartedly believes in her cause and acts impulsively on it. She sets out to seduce Andros. Her decision turns into a life altering course.

Andros still remembers himself as the cripple and not the strong man he’s become. Instead of embracing his new found gift, he still slaves away working on a program he’s waited years for to complete. Thrust into an assignment with the woman who seduced him and landed him in hot water leads them on a hunt for an immoral man. Fae and Andros passion and bond continue to grow despite their hazardous occupation.

Andros finds he must go undercover to trick those he’s aiming to find. Becoming the weak cripple again scares him to his core; he can’t risk losing what’s become important to him and gladly becomes the bait. Fae and Andros’ love for one another made me grin big. I only hoped the insanity happening to STORM, the agency he worked for, would resolve and the two sexy shifters could have their time together. I enjoyed this action and thriller packed read filled with fantastic cliff hangers. Up to the end I wasn’t sure what was going to happen and appreciated not having a predictable ending.

Review:

Kat is an enigma, but after peeling apart the layers of her psyche totally relatable. My heart plummeted for her when her world came to a screeching halt. I could empathize with what was going on in her head and how she tried to wrap around the ‘whys’ in her head.

At the same time I felt horrible for her ex Dan who never intended to hurt her and sympathised with his reasoning in what he needed from his love interest. By breaking things off he gave her an opportunity to come out of her shell and acquire different tastes, a new way of life. Skin Truth was brilliantly named. I fully enjoyed the story, only not wanting it to end. I did find the moment of truth a bit predictable, however, it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the story.

Chasing Cassie by Lorna Jean Roberts is one sexy thrilling read. Cassie underestimates who she is and her worth to those around her finding herself wanting what she thinks she’ll never have. Instead of opening herself up to the possibility she attempts to run. Danger is popping up around her; no one knows who the intended target is.

Jay is one sexy dominating male. He has his own demons to fight with wanting a human. He can’t stay away from Cassie and they’re thrust into an inferno charged affair. He aims for keeps though she is only in it for the now. With his pack under attack he has to make choices, ones Cassie is not understanding of the pack law. I found this read packed with emotions and the attempt to balance a relationship with two separate species and norms of society. I do wish I’d have learned more about the blonde stranger appearing and felt it was left unfinished. Hopefully there’ll be more about him in the next installment. This was one great read.

Vampire fans, don't miss this book! Having read many vampire genre stories, this book falls among the best of them. J.A. Saare manages to blend a touch of humour smoothly into the horror genre with a touch of sadness seamlessly. To me, this story was reminiscent of the Kim Harrison, Rachel Morgan series. This author has a similar talent for gentle touches of humour dabbled throughout her paranormal tale. With vampire names like Disco and Cash one just has to smile while reading this tale.

The only slight criticism, which in no way effects this story, would be that these are your standard vampires. I always look for some new trait in a vampire book and did not find one here. Some have talents, some don't, they drink blood both consensually and otherwise, they mark you, live in families and the place you've been bit becomes super sensitive. All traits that have been seen before. However, the story is an engaging, can't put it down type novel that will keep you up at night. In fact, as it ends with a new beginning, you will probably need to run right out and get the next book just to see what happens to Rhiannon next.
Rhiannon is a not too mild mannered bar keep. She just happens to see dead people. This rolls over into dead vampires which makes her a special commodity to the vampire community as that particular ability is extremely rare. Rhiannon, who was an abused child, wants nothing to do with Vamps as she believes that they are hard core killers. The story mentions a past friend that went missing in the company of a vamp, but no more is said in that vein. Because of this, she wants nothing to do with Cash and Disco, regardless of their amazing good looks and vamp pheromones. This story documents Rhiannon's slow acknowledgement that sometimes people need to choose the lesser of two evils. Occasionally, the lesser of evils can even turn out to be just what a girl needs!

Review:

Siren’s Serenade is the kind of erotically beautiful fairy tale that I would have cherished as a secret treasure in my teenage years, and one that I probably appreciate even more with a bit of maturity behind me.

Here we have a beautiful sea creature, destined to remain a virgin until she destroys a mortal man with her siren’s song. The only problem is, the man she’s chosen seems to be immune to her song . . . but not to her charms. Nissa is a wonderful character, innocent in many ways (especially in understanding humans), but darkly seductive in others. As for Peter, he’s an interesting enough young man, but he doesn’t seem worthy of her attention. What’s more, his immunity to her song makes him a danger to her entire race.

What elevates this from simply fairy tale to paranormal romance is the quest that takes Nissa away from her home, joining Peter on an old-fashioned treasure hunt to save his captured brother. Constantly challenged by mortal conceits and the oddities of dry-land, she brings a measure of humour and heart to the story. Peter pales by comparison but, then again, I’m not sure any human cold have proven a worthy companion.
This is, as all fairy tales should be, a happily-ever-after tale with a twist. Well-written, romantic, and fun, it’s a great read all around.

Review:

Ollie is a wonderful young man coming off of a painful breakup who finds himself oddly attracted to a drag queen, but who chooses the safer more traditional relationship with the cute guy from the bike rental shop. It takes a while for him to realize they are the same person and even longer for Drew to realise Ollie is definitely okay with Faith, but that humour is a large part of what makes the story work.

Both young men are fantastic characters and there is definitely some real chemistry between them. Both are young with all the insecurities and uncertainties that brings, but it works for the story. Slightly comic but mostly touching, their discovery of each other’s secrets is handled perfectly.
This is a light hearted story, more cute than sexy, but definitely fun. It’s well-written, sympathetic to both characters, and really plays with the confused expectations when gender doesn’t seem to match sexuality. I wish it had been longer, but that’s really my only complaint.

This was one very hot story about awkward circumstances, assuming a costume, playing a role . . . and then betraying the illusion and ultimately being yourself.

It all begins with a budding Broadway star who moonlights as a cross-dressing burlesque dancer. When he falls in love with the birthday boy, an uber-macho yet sexually naïve fireman, things get awkward and amusing, before they finally get arousing.

I loved the turnabout that occurs in bed, with Julian topping the anal virgin with performance issues. Trent is a very likeable guy, with a personality completely at odds with his appearance, much like Julian himself. Fortunately, there are hints all along as to Trent’s closeted homosexuality, so the relative ease with which he accepts that his girlfriend is really a boyfriend isn’t so hard to accept (even with his seeming attempts at macho homophobia).

It also helps that Julian is such a wonderful character, one who never set out to deceive the other man, but who loves the idea of being in love. He’s a man who loves the frills of femininity, but who is quite happy being a man.
Not the most realistic of romances, even with the cautionary touches, but a hot read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

A sweet suspense story with a very tortured hero...that's what you get when you pick up The Covering. Gunnar is mysterious, dark, edgy and so much more. It made me want to know more. He has a dark past, and doesn't let anyone in. He needs a place to go for a little while, so he asks a friend. Possibly his only friend. And then there's his sister...

Tessa is the polar opposite of Gunnar. She's a believer in God, she's a good girl, and knows she shouldn't get mixed up with the likes of Gunnar. And the two can't seem to get along very well, but yet, they're attracted to one another.

The story is full of tension, a sweet romance and one that will have you turning the pages, needing more. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the book, it had me that captivated.
If you love a sweet faith based romance, a dark hero that captures your attention, then don't hesitate to pick up a copy of this book.

This story has non-stop action that grabs your attention on the first page and won’t let you go! The Chauffeur Wore An Evening Gown is a Cinderella story with practicality and reality woven into the tale.

Ryan and Erin have chemistry together that sparks during a charade. Now they have to figure out if it was just part of the act they were playing or if there is something genuine to pursue. Too bad Erin is really not cooperating with Ryan’s plans!

This is a super page turner that I definitely lost some sleep over. I loved the relationship progression and banter between the main characters and Erin with her brothers. Roni Adams did a great job of setting up Erin’s family dynamics. The characters are so well written and easy to connect with that it makes the story just that much better.

The Chauffeur Wore An Evening Gown is a really fun story. I would recommend this tale of romance. It leaves you feeling hopeful and happy.

Review:

The prologue of this book sets the tone for an adventure packed erotic thriller. The graphic and descriptive narrative of a family being attacked by a pack of shifters under the influence of “blood lust” is not for the faint of heart.

The book, itself, begins with the main character and shifter, Riley, being caught by shape-shifter hunter, Shaw. Their instant chemistry and sexual attraction is written so well, it’s nearly palpable. Where the development of the individual characters falls short, carnal eroticism fills in the gaps. One begins to wonder how the prologue will tie into the story, nearly getting lost in all the sexual encounters between this female shifter in heat and her human mate, but when Shaw is alerted that another trap has gone off, the reader is whisked back into action as past and present transgressions collide.

Though Caught in Heat is an engaging read, I hungered for more plot, and as referenced above character development, leading up to the climax of the story. That being said, I would recommend this story to anyone who is looking for a quick read full of sexual heat.

It's beautifully written with great plot, characters, and just the right amount of descriptions that leaves the readers with plenty to imagine.

Allie never thought she'd meet such a man like Kiptyn. At first, he's rude and unlikable. After awhile, however, he kind of grew on me. Allie's first impression of him wasn't the best, but yet he wanted her to be the one that attended to him while on a flight.

One Small Fib is a wonderful little romance that is bound to deliver a smile to the reader's face. It's full of heart, a bit of deception, and an ending you'll be happy with. I enjoyed the in-depth characterization and for a shorter book it was done very well.

I would definitely check out other titles from this author. If you enjoy contemporary romance, then don't lie. You know you want to get a copy of One Small Fib.

Dana has gotten past her wild days. She's now responsible and free of her past. Maybe something in Rick reminds her of those times she'd rather forget. But Rick makes her feel things she hasn't in a very long time.

Slap Shot is another winner by Lily Harlem. The charismatic characters she creates will sweep readers into a charming, hot romance that won't let go. The third book in the Hot Ice series thrills and excites. The conflict, inner and outer, keeps the tension high as the pages turn.

Be My Everything by Ella Jade is a great erotic romance story. As the story starts out the reader gets a look into the stages and progression of a new submissive entering the BDSM world. Katherine is a submissive who is also strong willed and knows what she wants. She is willing to undergo much to achieve her goals.

Luke is a long-time Dominant that is established in the BDSM community. He could have any submissive that he wanted, but Katherine and her naivety called to him. Luke finds that he really likes going back to the basics and teaching.

Katherine and Luke have a kind of backwards relationship, instead of dating and then getting intimate the two of them got intimate right away and then got to know one another. As a reader, you will love the emotional journey that Katherine and Luke take together and how they progress in their relationship. This is a very sensual and erotic story, but love is most definitely prominent.

Ella Jade does a nice job of setting up conflicts for the characters to overcome while keeping the plot moving forward. With each new conflict we learn more about the characters and Katherine and Luke learn more about each other.

This is a well written story, unfortunately it does have some editing issues and a blank page in the middle of the story, but don’t let the distractions keep you from a great story. I will be looking for other creations by Ella Jade.

Nerds are Freaks Too by KoKo Brown was such a comedic read. Don’t get me wrong, it was chock full of emotion and white hot passion too. I really got a kick out of Roxanne’s vibrant personality and her OCD like ways and Leo, man what a sexy hero and patient at that. The banter made me smile and gave insight into how comfortable Roxanne was with Leo. Roxanne had classic blinders on, which is a hazard to many a female with the perfect best friend standing by their side through thick and thin.

Leo charmed the panties right off of me even. I enjoyed his little set up and the lengths in which he was prepared to go to enlighten Roxanne to his ways. Underneath the mind of a genius lay a body of a God. Leo is the perfect warning to never knowing what lies beneath. He was waiting for the perfect time to dominate his woman and knowing just what it was she needed. I enjoyed seeing her knocked off balance with his declaration and the path she struggled with taking. With their long span of friendship they complimented each other well. I’m still fanning myself from the smoking passion that literally singed my eyelashes while reading! This read also gives new meaning to taking gorgeous and loving friends out of the friend zone or risk missing out on a lifetime of meaningful love. This book is a definite have to read.

Review:

Feral Fever is book three in a series. I had not read books one and two. While this book can be read as a standalone, and enjoyed, I am positive that it suffers somewhat from that. Read as a third book, I believe that I may have given it a higher rating. Much of the back story as to why Aisling Bjorn is a Marshall or even what a Marshall is, is missing in this story. Unlike many other books, there really isn't much of a re-hash on the back story to catch up anyone who had just happened to start with this book.

The story itself is excellent. It involves a matriarchal cast society with female domination over the males of their race. They are a humanoid race that have slightly furred faces and tiger stripes imbedded into their skin (tattoo like). The royal females, those with the palest markings, are queens and take up to fifty or more husbands if they wish. They are capable of having children for many years and often have 40 or more children themselves. Somehow most of these children turn out to be males, against all statistics. This produces many unattached warring males looking for mates. There is a sadness to this book.

Aisling is sent to this planet to become a royal queen as an ambassador from the Marshalls. She is forced to take a minimum of 7 husbands, one from each region, against her personal beliefs. With time she comes to embrace the five husbands who survive the warring planet. This story is not a ménage per se as she is only with one husband at a time, however different men may visit her in the same day. Each husband has his own baggage and traits so there is something for everyone in this story. Once you read past the opening story, this book is mostly about Aisling creating workable bonds with all of her husbands, so the heat level on this book is pretty high. If you are looking for a hot book, with multiple partners, all in one to one situations, this is the book that you should read.

Review:

Being of Scottish descent and actually descended from clan MacCallum, I chose to review this book for purely selfish reasons. I felt it would be interesting to read a romance based upon my own clan instead of say, the time traveling Frasers, and yes, I've read those too. Having said that, I truly enjoyed this story!

A time traveling witch, who does not know she's from possibly a thousand or more years ago, who is also a cat burglar with a robin hood complex, meets a time traveling Laird of a beleaguered Elizabethan Scottish clan, while trying to abscond with his magic necklace. Through the efforts of the spirit of another deceased witch they are tossed back and forth through time to avoid an evil that is out to steal Kat's powers and destroy the world.

This appears to be the third instalment in a series, which I only became aware of when Ms. McCollum introduced the other two sisters and they had already found their mates. Being a third book made absolutely no difference to the story, although I believe I would have enjoyed it even more had I read the first two first. There will, I think be a forth book as Kat has a “missing” twin sister. It was also alluded to that there is an unknown fifth brother or sister out there that even the helpful dragonfly witch spirit seemed ignorant of.

This book was very well written and engaging. This is the kind of tale that won't allow you to put the book down. It will keep you up late into the wee hours with red eyes until you've turned the final page. You will love it!!

Review:

Magical Lover by Karilyn Bentley led me into the lives of the Draconi and the lost Halflings searched for by Thoren and his Watcher. The story is filled with magic and intrigue. I fully loved the world build and the beautiful descriptive settings, along with the varied dragons. I felt for Keara growing up believing she was nothing but the spawn of evil. I enjoyed that her spirit wasn’t crushed and that she followed her gift of healing instead of turning from it with all the negativity around her. When Thoren came into the picture I imagined them finding peace together and then the villains came into view. I disliked Lord Simon but more than that I disliked the rogue Draconi and hoped he’d be dealt with. Further in the story we learn more about Keara and her gifts, we learn of her heritage and how she’s welcomed into the family fold. The passion between Thoren and Keara burned the pages, when they gave into their desires and needs.

In the end the story was good. I waited for the rogue to be caught since he was the major danger in their lives who had made it past numeral wards. I found the lack of closure disappointing and his getting away scott free after his heinous crimes implausible. I checked to see if this was a series and came up empty handed. All of the greatness seemed to fade with this one part left undone. Reading a story of this length was disappointing in that regard. Though I was pleased to see the hero and heroine have their happy ending.

Woven with murder, mystery, and some very tender romantic moments, Expendable will delight fans of sexy romantic suspense. The pages sizzle with sexual tension, flying bullets, a child caught in the crossfire, and many other mysterious plots that bind together into one giant mystery. I was hooked immediately, and the intensity of the story kept the pages turning. Jenna and Reed are complex characters, with plenty of drama in their pasts and conflict to keep it very interesting.

If you're a fan of romantic suspense, be sure to add Expendable to your list of books to buy. It surely won't disappoint.

What a magical, funny and touching story! Very unique and enjoyable. Together Again delivers a delightful tale of intrigue. The plot is original and keeps the reader totally in tune. I didn't want to turn away from this story for anything! With a hint of magic and time travel, I devoured the novel from start to finish. I had to know how Dani could travel and become a part of someone else's body and mind. There are scenes that made me laugh because of the situations, and there are some very touching moments throughout as well.

If you're looking for something very different, I don't hesitate to recommend this book. Together Again, to put it simply, should not be missed! It's got a bit of everything for romantics to fall in love with. Mimi Barbour, I give you much kudos for having such an imagination to write a story of this type. It's beautiful. I need more!

Slade Book Two of New Species by Laurann Dohner led me back into the world New Species. Slade is one drop dead sexy man who only has eyes for the good Doctor. Once they realized they knew each other, I waited to see what rekindling would happen. Slade and Trisha have an explosive attraction that will singe the eyes. Yet I couldn’t stop reading or seeing the bestial side of Slade when in protection mode.

I found his other way of protecting adorable. Only men think distancing themselves is a way to offer better protection. Dr. Tricia is stronger than anyone gives her credit. Circumstances lead her into danger and she must wait to be saved. Courage and quick wits give her leverage. Her fears made me fear for her and I felt our hero’s pain at not being close at hand. I was thrilled when the situation changed for the better. I enjoyed reading of the entire species and not just the NSO, Laurann Dohner gives us a detailed view of the species she’s created. The rest of this story is heartfelt and I’m not one for spoilers. This is a must read story.

Review:

Depth Charge by Brindle Chase was a smoking hot read. Maria the heroine comes from a country where the only wealth accumulated is with hardened drug dealers who take from the community and don’t give back to the people. In an effort to save her family she uses her body, brains and talent to gain positions in various tourist attractions. She is a feisty woman and sensual as all get out.

Seth is used to being numero uno. When a slip of a woman gains the edge and knocks him off his longstanding pedestal he is surprised. More than that he is attracted to the young lady in ways he shouldn’t be. Trouble at their station provides them the perfect opportunity to get to know one another while working on fixing the system. Only mother nature, a ticking clock and monsters beneath the deep blue sea stand in their way. I enjoyed this story and the outcome. The setting for treasure hunting was a pleasure. The only question that stemmed for me throughout the read was the lack of nourishment or water while down under. I will be reading it again on a cold day. The fire they burn will definitely warm me up while reading.
