Blurb/Summary:

When Kathleen Allen sets eyes on the man she’s known since her youth, Graham Hollis, she learns what being a woman is all about. She can’t tear her gaze off the rugged and brooding cowboy. After she throws herself at him, he refuses to take her unless they’re married. A
secret wedding wasn’t exactly what she’d expected, though every heated touch gives her exactly what she wanted--and more.

An ex-Cavalry officer in the war for the South, Graham still fights his demons daily. When Kathleen enters his life, he finds himself resurrecting memories of the wife he’s lost, as well as needs he’d thought long dead. However, an ex-spy is fresh out of prison and Graham is certain he’ll try to reap revenge by harming the woman he’s grown to love.

Together, Graham and Kathleen must face perils, posses, and passions as they fight to hold onto the one thing they need to truly live—each other.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable.

Review:

I enjoyed this book immensely!  From the beginning, it is obvious that Graham is a tortured individual.  And it’s also obvious early on that Kathleen has loved Graham since she was very young.  While she’s led a sheltered, albeit hard, farm life, she has the strength needed to pursue what she wants in life (Graham), overcome the obstacles they face (an ex-spy, an untrustworthy farmhand, her lack of sexual experience), and secure a future together.

This author took the time to create believable characters and to let the plot and those characters develop together as they moved through the various conflicts.  The sex was awesome; the details of farm life, the civil war and its effects on the country and its people; Graham’s family and his relationship with them: all of these elements together created a wonderfully engrossing story!

Blurb/Summary:

Yoga instructor Diana Courbet wants to celebrate the end of a messy divorce in the best way possible, starting with a one night stand with the sexy, tousle-haired artist in her yoga class. He's been the object of her desire for close to a year, and while he might be worth more than one sexy evening, that's all her heart is willing to risk. Mathias Kuning wants two things--to be a successful artist and Diana. Over the past year, he's painted Diana in a series of nudes that show how much he's grown to care for his beautiful muse. But to become a successful artist he has to show the sensual pieces, and to show them, she has to agree. Will the risque poses of Mathias' creation be the very thing that keeps Diana in his arms...or drives her out of his life forever?

Review:

This was a short but sweet read that, as an older woman, I could enjoy and relate to.  Diana’s dilemma with both her husband and their divorce as well as with Mathias was easy to understand.  The plot was not overly complicated.  Rather, the author developed the characters through Diana’s internal reflection and in her reactions to Mathias. Mathias was so sweet!  Yes, he was younger than Diana, but he managed to be dominant in a comfortable, sweet way that I found endearing.  I enjoyed the solution to the problem of the risqué poses and would really enjoy a sequel to this story!

Tagline:   Sephina is about to trade one addiction for another—and his name is Axel

Blurb/Summary:

Sephina Antara has gotten into a lot of trouble as a sex demon with a drug addiction. Moving to a new village was supposed to help her get clean. But when she relapses, it comes with a side of hot dragon man.

Axel Stavros may be a drug dealer, but he's also the town healer. Half-human, half-dragon, his blood can cure just about anything, but it has some erotic side effects for its user, as the new beauty in town is about to find out…

Content Warning: graphic language, hot foreplay, and even hotter sex, including light bondage and some girl-on-girl action.

Review:

The third book in The Sex Demon Trilogy, Addictions of a Sex Demon, definitely turns up the heat.  A climactic end to a wonderful series.

Sephina is a struggling addict who desperately wants to get clean. Starting fresh in a new town, leaving behind the bad influences, and even worse memories is a good start.  As the story progresses, Sephina struggles internally, not only with her addiction but the fear of being a disappointment to those who love her the most.  Sephina’s character is very well written and balanced.  From the weakness she displays through her struggle with drugs to the strength she demonstrates when it means protecting not only the man she falls in love with but his entire race as well.

Axel is not your ordinary drug dealer; he heals during the day and deals in the night all in an effort to keep the village he lives in safe and clean.  Axel displays chivalry throughout the book but make no mistake, he will kill in order to keep his loved ones safe.  Axel is hot.  Literally and figuratively.  As a quetzalem (dragon demon) his race has been hunted to near extinction for their blood.  He can ignite a flame within his lovers that can actually set them on fire.  Not many women can take the heat that is Axel, but in Sephina he has met his perfect match.

Jaye Shields has proven herself as a highly talented author of fantasy and erotic literature.  Addictions of a Sex Demon is a wonderful story that really draws the reader in and captivates them with sensuality as well as adventure.  This book could easily be read as a stand-alone but be advised that once you read this tale, it will be incredibly hard to resist picking up the other two books.
