Review:

The Ripple Effect by J.A. Saare is not, in my opinion, a standalone book.  I would call this a bridge story.  In this portion of the tale, we continue the theme that Disco is still angry with Paine and Rhiannon for things that occurred in a future time-line but have not actually happened in this current time.  We deal with the arrival of Disco and Paine's maker and his coterie of demon and half demon friends.  And finally, we get a view of what life on Earth would be like with demon masters in complete control. 

However, the characters of Disco and Rhiannon are not further developed, as they previously were in each instalment.  Paine, after we have been made to love and sympathize with him, is removed from the story and it is questionable whether we will see him again. Rhiannon accomplishes exactly nothing on the path towards freeing Marigold Vesta.  Lastly, a new teaser character, Bane, is introduced as someone we will probably see again.

If you love the Rhiannon series, this is a book to read as it was designed to span the tales of all that has come before and what may be in store for the future.  It was as well written as the last tales.  On its own, however, this tale is incomplete.  The Ripple Effect leaves you hanging, just when it feels as though it is beginning to gain momentum.

Review:

Landlocked by Cindy Jacks is a wonderful science fiction romance.  It’s filled with action, intrigue, and mystery.  The story takes place in a future time on earth or some might consider it an alternate reality.  However you might consider, Landlocked rips apart the nation and sends part of the United States back into the dark ages through war and constant struggles.

The heroine of the story, Kathryn, is left to care for her young son in a very scary world.  Her husband disappeared five years earlier and she is all alone.  Kathryn relies on herself and good neighbors to keep going.  Every day is a feat of survival in Gulfland.

The hero of the story, Logan, is a privateer that makes a living supplying the resistance.  He happens upon Kathryn’s farm after being injured.  Good old southern hospitality is not dead, as Kathryn tends to his wounds and helps him recover.  During the process, Logan finds a part of himself that he didn’t know existed. 

Cindy Jacks knows how to build up the sexual and romantic tension between her characters.  The paradigm had me tearing through the pages.  There is a great balance of their everyday reality and romance in this story.  Kathryn and Logan have incredible chemistry and once the tension breaks it really explodes.  Their love scenes are erotic, descriptive, and worth the tension. 

Landlocked has some plot twists that will leave you on the edge of your seat.  This is a great story for any science fiction romance fans.

Review:

Bahama Breeze is a sweet and funny romance that will leave the reader with a smile on their face after the story is over. A refreshing story, it's fairly light and very comical. I enjoyed the turn of events in the book. Anna and Sonny are unique characters that were well thought out and they shined brightly through the pages.

I enjoyed this story, with all its quirky, amusing moments that happened throughout the plot. Anna works for the government, but she is quite forgetful in some aspects, like using a security code when she makes phone calls. It’s simple things such as those that make Anna a well rounded, believable character that readers can relate to on various aspects. Sonny has his moments, too, and the path to the pairs HEA is quite humorous.

Readers, if you enjoy a sweet romance guaranteed to make you laugh, don't miss Bahama Breeze.

Review:

Amy Redwood did a nice job of intertwining her two stories, Alien Best Man and My Alien Threesome, so we get to see each heroine’s perspective of what was happening to them at the time.

The alien planet, Dezra, and the language barrier add dimension to the story. However, the language barrier didn’t affect the very hot, erotic love scenes between Garret, Slyte, and Kyra. I never would have guessed this was how Kyra had spent her time away from her friend Jana!

Slyte is a strong alien assigned to Kyra while she’s on the planet. We don’t get to learn much about him except he follows non-verbal direction very well. Even by the end of the story, he still remains mysterious, but now he is at least a friend.

The real love story with all the drama is between Garret and Kyra. Their one night leads to misunderstanding and heartbreak. The standing question in their relationship is one of trust. Can Kyra learn to trust Garret? Is Garret worth the heartbreak? No spoilers here. Read this entertaining story to find out.

My Alien Threesome is a well written short story. My only complaint is that it was short and ended before I knew it! Amy Redwood’s alien world is a great place to get lost in for a while. I look forward to other tales from Dezra.

Review:

Stealing Coal by Laurann Dohner took me on a sci-fi adventure. I’m new to the science fiction genre of romance and am very glad I chose to read this story. From the world build to the characters, I was a goner.

I enjoyed Jill’s vibrancy and her strength and felt bad for the raw deal she’d been given in life. I couldn’t imagine being alone in the universe with no one to talk to besides trusted artificial beings. That being said the artificial beings amazed me, so life like, even in their ability to process and make their own decisions I adored them.

Jill is a beautiful heroine, knowing Coal was in eminent danger; she broke the law and listened to her integrity to give him freedom.

Coal intrigued me. After so many years of abuse, and of others using him, manipulating situations to gain what they wanted of him, I wanted to cry. I was amazed it didn’t break him down but instead his anger fuelled him on. Not one to wallow, he delivered his own verbal messages.

He and his kind were priceless. Oh when he gained control, I sat back to see just what he could do. His tenderness and his decision to pleasure Jill, come hell or high water, made me giggle. It was apparent she couldn’t formulate a way to dissuade him from his goal and I’m glad she didn’t. From there the story erupted into kick ass fast paced action. Passion. Action. Hot man. Equally hot woman. Hot robots. What more can a reader ask for? Oh, death and dismemberment of all assholes perhaps? This story was a great read and one I won’t mind reading again.

Soap Bloke was a great read. I’m not into much daytime television but after reading this delightful story, maybe I should turn on the tube and see what I’m missing. I found Dirk and Gwen an adorable couple.

Gwen’s insecurities stemming no doubt from the lime lights younger is better mindset, and her man’s previous relationships. What I saw was that Dirk really loved Gwen in a way that had nothing to do with age but everything to do with all woman. They had an unrivalled chemistry that blazed white hot. I felt if she kept up, she’d lose out on a good thing, love.

Dirk really showed me how compassionate he was when dealing with his woman and his job. The fact that he had enough control to separate business from pleasure on set showcased how well he could rein in emotions and remain logical at the same time. I was saddened when their profession and their personal life came to a cross roads. I only hoped he’d be able to find a different approach to showing Gwen he was hers for keeps, and hoped that Gwen would trust in him.

This is a well written short story that will take you on an adventure of both emotional and sensual delight. Glynnis Ivy is a new to me author who I thoroughly enjoyed and will add to my must read list and truly recommend her stories.

Review:

If you're looking for a different kind of romance book, look no further than Jody Wallace's One Thousand Kisses. Ms. Wallace's imagination is stunning; she creates such an interesting and wonderful world in this delightful book. The storyline is fresh and exciting, as are the characters in it. I had an absolute blast reading this! I am going to have to go back and get the first book, as One Thousand Kisses is the second book in the Fey Realm Series.

The dialogue is humorous and portrays a lot of emotion. The scenes were described well, but not overly done and I had a great sense of imagery in my mind as I read this.

If you enjoy fantasy romance, then you may enjoy One Thousand Kisses. I enjoyed it, and certainly suggest other readers read it as well.

Review:

Blue Fire will have you glued to the pages. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. The story is creative and will spark your imagination. However, the editing is a bit distracting and needs to be fine tuned.

The love story between Drystan and Jane is entrancing and will leave you wanting more. It’s hard not to fall in love with the courageous and smart Jane and the tough but soft-hearted Drystan. Blue Fire is filled with action in and out of the bedroom.

Even though the premise for the story is sad, there is much humor between these pages. Angela Castle did all Earth women, especially not a size zero, a great service when creating her character Jane and the Kell women.

Angela Castle leaves room in the storyline for future visits to this new world. I am looking forward to the next storyline that is set up at the end of the book and will be checking back on this author and her creations.

This is a great read for any science fiction romance fans.

She made them so loveable and hot at the same time and you can really see yourself in Jenny’s shoes. Also, Chastity makes you crave to have a hot and sexy man like Matt. She is a definite must add author to your list.

Beastly Passion is a thoroughly imaginative and creative story. The cover also reflects this. Renee Field created a wonderful world to get lost in for a while.

Between Maeja, the queen, and her two Dragonbane Warriors, Geirsson and Valdason, the passion was scorching hot. Maeja is a strong and confident female and leader. Maeja’s journey to surrender to her desires and finally be free was a fun read.

As a reader, you learn just enough about Geirsson and Valdason to make you hopeful that they will stay with their queen. The main focus of the story is really on Maeja and what she will do and sacrifice for her people.

Beastly Passion is a well written story that will spark your imagination. The ending was a surprise with a wonderful twist. There is definitely some exploration left to do in this world and I would love to journey with some other characters.

Review:

I absolutely loved Wrapped Around Your Finger by Fallon Blake. From the beginning the story had me captivated. Indigo was a fabulous heroine. I loved that she felt comfortable in her body even though she wasn’t a size two. Her personal choice of body art and hair deco gave additional insight to her need to be her own person. At the same time I could see how she used her clothing and copious amount of makeup to hide away.

When she got the job for Banner, I couldn’t have been more pleased. I didn’t much care for those who thought she was a catastrophe in the making; I thought she’d be fabulous. When Banner warmed up to her and told her what he wanted to do with her, to her, I got all giddy with delight for her. I felt she deserved a strong hero and when he drew her into his world, a place he thought she’d fit, the story all came together. Through him she learned things about herself; to me she refused to admit.

The sex was white hot, the emotional impact rollercoaster of highs and lows ending in the perfect happily ever after. This is definitely going on my keeper shelf.

I found A Delicacy from the Delicatessen a racy testament to the validation of sensuality! I enjoyed the exploration and expression of Natalie's search for her own sexuality. I found it well written, and it kept a steady pace from beginning to end. Filled with sweet sexual tension, and a steamy, hot climax!

Review:

Gladiator’s Revenge by Amy Rutton took me back to the time of the Roman Empire. Slovenly rich, the men decided the fates of any man under them from house staff, to slaves. Freedom didn’t mean forever free and could be snatched away on a cruel whim.

When Taranis chose Lavina I wondered how they’d manage to survive, especially with the odds stacked unfavourably with them. He was so filled with anger and the need to avenge that I thought he’d miss out on the opportunity to find love. Somewhere in the midst of making love to his wife and finding good, his haze of revenge clouding his being dissolved and they had a chance to find their happy ending.

I enjoyed this read and look forward to other works by Amy Rutton.
