Blurb/Summary:

Tristan Winter's day takes a turn for the worse when his best employee calls in sick. As the only other technical specialist able to step in on such short notice, he takes over what seems like a run of the mill job -- until he runs into his old crush from high school, Jamie Hunter. Ten years after a summer fling left him with a broken heart, Tristan now has a different view of life and love but this time around, will he push away the only man he ever cared about?

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: male/male sexual practices.

Review:

Trust in Me by Lori Toland was the perfect way to sit back and unwind after a long day. The background in the story was instrumental in tying the decade of two separated lovers. My heart broke for Tristan who believed he’d been dumped after having his first taste of intimacy. It was apparent how much he respected and wanted to be on the same level of his high-school fantasy.

Jaime had really made a mess of things in his younger days. Instead of following up with his neighbour and friend he ditched him. His own internal demons prevented him from finding out if there was more than one night of sex.

We meet them again ten years later. Tristan is no longer the thin geeky boy rather a sophisticated man who’d done well in his life and bowed to no one. The past may have made him a bit bitter regarding Jaime; the experience made him a better man. Lost and confused Jaime didn’t quite know what to make of Tristan all grown up, that didn’t stop passion from exploding and old hurts being voiced and put to rest. This book was one steaming hot read full of betrayal and angst and confronting the past in its totality.

Blurb/Summary:

Photographer Stuart Grange was happy with his suburbanite life until his partner was killed in a plane hijacking. Now he’s suddenly the face of gay rights in America and trying to deal with his new responsibility while coping with his overwhelming grief. He’s got his hands full without the complications of a new love, but his heart’s not waiting for him to catch up.

Commercial pilot Dustin McDonough knows what it’s like to deal with loss. He has his own set of scars, physical and emotional. He’s trying to give Stuart the time and space he needs to be ready to move on, but he’s in love for the first time in years, and he’s determined not to lose again.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: male/male sexual practices.

Review:

Paper Planes by M. Jules Aedin was a tear jerker of grand proportions and I loved every sniffle and smile reading about Stuart and Dustin brought me.

Two different males, polar opposites a few chance meetings turn to what I call divine fate. Their road to finding each other wasn’t easy. Stuart wasn’t ready to let go of the past and re-enter the land of the living after losing his partner.

When he met Dustin my heart sped up and then I became engrossed in the hardships Dustin endured and continued to endure. The gentle strength of the sexy pilot made my heart melt while Jules the artistic photographer made me grin. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and the lively secondary characters brought into the spotlight. I hope to see them soon in their own stories and perhaps get a second look at how Stu and Dustin do. Their passion was white hot but what hooked me line and sinker was the unabashed joy and love they finally allowed themselves the opportunity to have.

Blurb/Summary:

DEA Special Agent Mac McNamara knew this mission was doomed when his crippled helicopter crash landed in the suspect’s front yard. The mission was simple. Gather intel on suspect Callie Johnson and make an arrest. A tip said that a large shipment of drugs was coming from Mexico to Texas via her 500 acres, but Ms. Johnson wasn’t your typical drug smuggler. She’s Mac’s mate.

Callie Johnson has two transactions to complete in the upcoming days or people will die. Mac and his mercenaries have invaded her property and they’re putting a kink in her well run operation. Mac tells her she’s sexy, but that can’t be because she’s a full figured girl with a cane. Does he want her land like everyone else and will he seduce her to get it? She doesn’t trust Mac, but she can’t resist him when he lures her into nights filled with erotic pleasure.

When Callie disappears, Mac wonders if she fled or if something bad has happened to her. Either way, Mac’s torn between doing his job and claiming Callie. He’s just got to find her first.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable.

Review:

Wowza! Mac’s Mate by Kitty DuCane is one hot read…and perfect for relaxing on the porch with the breeze to give a constant cool down. I simply adored Callie and her no nonsense ways. I love grit with heroines and she had the entire package even though not Barbie sized. Let me tell you how much I love reading about the women who are bigger and not just in size but in everything they do.

I hated what her ex did to her, the emotional abuse she’d endured to make her feel less than perfect. Thankfully she wasn’t too shy and allowed the sexiest man for her to give her what she needed…what they both needed.

Mac he tickled me. His authoritative mannerisms and how he commanded everyone didn’t make for an easy like. He came off hard as steel and unyielding…and then another side of him emerged. Maybe because she didn’t cower for him or because his wolf demanded he open his eyes. Either way it was a great ride watching them unfold between the secrecy and violence erupting around them.

When he let his beast out to exact revenge I was hooked line and sinker…hoping he’d realize what he had and found it foolish to slip from his grasp. I loved the team and T-bone and can’t wait for more of these memorable characters to come to life.

Blurb/Summary:

MI6 assassin Kael Saunders was supposed to kill Angel Button after he witnessed a kill. Not only did Kael refuse to hurt Angel, but he took him home and fell in love with him. Living together now in a loving D/s relationship, Angel wants to follow in his daddy’s footsteps while Kael is determined to keep his boy out of the dangerous world of international assassins.

During an assignment Kael finds a little girl who is caught up in human trafficking and determines to rescue her. When he is taken prisoner Angel sets out to find his beloved Daddy and bring him home.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: strong BDSM theme and content, male/male sexual practices, violence.

Review:

Angel and the Assassin 2: Be Brave the continued story of Angel and Kael truly amazed me. I didn’t know there was more of their life coming, and that there was and it showed so much more growth both within Kael and within Angel was outstanding. Fyn Alexander outdid himself with this work. In this sequel we got to see a timid young boy grow and mature and come into his own under the loving yet patient hand of his master.

There are so many great things to remark on that I’m having a hard time voicing them. What I do want to say is…seeing a deeper side of Kael, an emotional side and peeling apart the layers into his entire self, it made my heart melt. I think that the two diverse males with polar opposite personalities continued to grow in love and support each other. You didn’t just see a boy with his daddy, you saw a perfect match transcending level of intimacy and trust that’s hard to find but worth the work it takes to have.

I’m going to have to put this on the keeper shelf with the first installment.

Blurb/Summary:

Wednesday is released by Vincent, her long-time Master, only to find herself in a new, much more emotionally intense BDSM relationship with Daniel. But is Vincent really out of her life forever? Can Wednesday bear the intimacy of her new lover's demands? The three soon find themselves in an uneasy and sometimes downright contentious love triangle.

Wednesday wants to submit to Daniel, but self-protective impulses and bad memories make their budding relationship a constant struggle. In a world of passion, promises, and power exchange, Wednesday and her lovers must come to understand the difference between being “owned” and loved.

Publisher's Note: This book is a substantially re-edited, revised version of a book of the same title previously released elsewhere, and contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, ménage (m/f/m), strong BDSM theme and elements.

Review:

Owning Wednesday by Annabel Joseph was one gut wrenching emotional read. One I loved from page one to the end. The dynamics of BDSM and D/s are not easily explained or understood. Yet as the pages turned and I was able to see all three characters and the deep insight to the very core of them insight dawned into a beautiful thing.

Vincent comes off as an overbearing and almost abusive Master. I almost worried that he was too much for Wednesday and that she needed to get out. I was wrong but wouldn’t know it until much later.

When Daniel came into the picture there was a glimmer of radiance brought out in Wednesday that Vincent never got from her. From his reaction it was plain to see. I loved the gentle loving side of Daniel but disliked the other side, the possessive one. I wasn’t sure how Wednesday would act, with her past issues and abandonment issues from Vincent’s departure in her life. All of it seemed to turn into a cataclysmic disaster, one I wondered if it had a happy ever after.

I think in this time Wednesday had too much time to herself and never was I so glad to see her Dom come back in and pull her back into her comfort level. The passion in this story surged white hot, the emotional tangle of any relationship had me holding my breath, sheer stubbornness on both parts and a coming to terms with the third party eventually deescalated, love kept them together.

I enjoyed this read on a multitude of levels and can’t wait to read the next work by Annabel Joseph.

Blurb/Summary:

Radio producer Jamie MacMahon is in over her head with ex-hockey player-turned host Drew Milan. She’s attracted to the man who earned the nickname “the Beast” during his playing days from the moment they meet, but he’s her boss and she loves her new job. She’s made plenty of mistakes with men and loathes the thought of being yet another plaything for Drew, a man who sleeps with women but doesn’t date them.

Drew doesn’t want to lose a great producer and knows Jamie deserves a real relationship, but can’t stay away from the sizzling chemistry they create every time they’re together. Jamie’s insecurities and the very real prospect of having to leave a great job if this thing doesn’t work out clash hard with Drew’s fears about opening his heart and the possibility of losing his first competent producer. Nothing's going to get resolved if one of them won't say it: "Come on, baby, talk to me."

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: D/s elements, fetish, spanking, strong language ("dirty" talk).

Review:

Talk to Me by Cassandra Carr was a delightful read. I loved Jamie and her star struck composure in the beginning. Drew was definitely fantasizing material. When he came into play…pun not intended. I giggled at her compromising position for their introduction to each other. From there Drew was hooked. I felt for Jaime because it seemed she wore her heart on her sleeve and deserved more than what appeared to be going on off business hours. I only hoped Drew would get it together.

Drew exuded magnetism like moths to the flame. Hurt from the past he turned to the bachelor womanizing ways. I was pleased as punch when Jaime knocked him off his game and he began second guessing his decisions. The passion sparked between them as their relationship grew to new levels. Dirty talk and kink added another level of enjoyment to these two characters. All in all a very good read for the evening, and one to pick up again.

Blurb/Summary:

One man claims her by blood, the other by possession. One wants revenge.

At the rise of the Black Moon, Sierra is to be named the new Alpha of her pack. But first, she must take a wolf mate before she can claim the position. Problem is, she’s in love with two men, one of whom is strictly forbidden. Willing to live a lie, she publicly acknowledges one and keeps the other her dirty little secret.

Nolan and Marek understand Sierra’s needs. Nothing gives them more pleasure than to make her burn, body and soul. Until the pack is attacked and a temperamental stranger from the past threatens to send them spiraling apart. Now she must choose between love and duty, a decision with fatal consequences. Whoever said you could be Alpha without making the hard choices...lied.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, ménage (m/f/m).

Review:

Black Moon Rising has a lot going on for a novella. The reader is introduced to Sierra’s mate, Marek, and her guard, Nolan, right before a mating ceremony. The mating ceremony doesn’t go smoothly and is interrupted. Past mistakes rear their heads to complicate the new alpha’s life. What made this story even more intriguing is that the alpha is a female.

This is a fast moving story with some action. Sierra, Marek and Nolan have an explosive ménage that just gets better as the story unravels. The major characters are all very likable. Eliza Gayle does a nice job of giving us some villains, but also making the certainty of their evil ambiguous until the end. There are a couple plot twists that will keep you turning the pages to find out how it ends.

Reviewer: Cia

Blurb/Summary:

Hard rock band Schadenfreude is finally on the verge of the success that’s eluded them for the last several years. With Aaron McClure as their new lead singer, nothing’s going to stop them…except maybe a steamy, secret relationship between Aaron and bassist Bastian Koehler. Aaron knows all too well what can happen when band members get involved with each other. After all, his last band was a casualty of his last relationship, and Schadenfreude forbids band members from dating for that very reason. But Bastian is too hot to resist, and besides, it’s just sex, so what’s the harm?

Bastian has just gotten out of a long relationship with his volatile ex-fiancée when Aaron catches his eye. The sexy singer is irresistible, and in spite of the potential for strife within the band if this comes out, Bastian can’t help himself.

Their passion in the bedroom is rivaled only by their ambition as musicians, though, and pretty soon, it's going to tear them, and Schadenfreude apart, if they can't get back to playing with the band.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Male/male sexual practices.

Review:

With the Band by L. A. Witt led me into the rock heavy ordinary lives of every day musicians. The dynamics of the band life exploded into a reality. Where one small ripple can either make a band succeed or blast them apart for good. Aaron’s personal experience didn’t help matters. He battled with not only his sexuality but hiding it from a sibling and parents.

Bastian on the other hand is more comfortable in his skin, yet he too harbours a secret. Passion between the two explodes as their band rises up the ranks into notoriety. The higher they go the harder it is to keep the silence. Their personal and professional journey was heartbreaking and heart-warming. I laughed when they laughed and cried when there were broken hearts. The song really got to me, and I disliked how Bastian used it to gain what he needed while understanding communication comes in many forms.

This is one read I’d read time and again. The whole band rocked proving family and friendship could withstand the most insane odds.

Blurb/Summary:

A "Battle of the Sexes" Story!

Denise has wanted her own professional football team since she was six years old. Now, she’s finally got it, but it comes with one problem: recovering alcoholic and notorious lecher Levi “So Fly” Ballom. As a record-setting tight end, his numbers on the field are fantastic, but it’s what’s going on off the field that has Denise worried. She can’t seem to get the Nordic god out of her mind, and her desire could put the future of her brand new franchise at risk.

Levi promised his agent no women for the first year of his recovery, and he was really trying to keep that promise until in swayed his new team’s manager, Denise. All he can think about is tying her up and taking her hard, and he can’t keep his mind on the game. He only sees one way out of this predicament -- do what his fantasies tell him -- but the promise he made to his agent stands in the way.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: BDSM theme and elements.

Review:

Necessary Roughness by G. G. Royale put me up front and center into the lives of Denise and Levi. Denise surprised me with her fortitude and determinate to make a business for herself without fully depending on family nepotism. She handled herself with class both personally and professionally. When Levi came into the situation, she logically evaluated and made a decision to live her life on her terms.

Levi, with his past had an uphill battle. I didn’t care much for his over intrusive agent and hoped he’d drop him like a hot potato. When it came to Denise I saw a difference in him and that difference was selfless, instead of just giving into his desires, he thought about the outcomes that could happen both positive and negative. Their chance attraction exploded into a profound relationship of giving, receiving and accepting. I enjoyed reading their story and was glad they found the dynamic they needed in their relationship.

Blurb/Summary:

Santana Jones barely escaped from the man-turned-wolf that attacked her during a camping trip that she’d won from a local radio station. But it turns out the radio station didn’t have a contest and she didn’t win. Then she meets the Luc who thinks he can detain her while he figures out this so-called mystery. Because of her past, allowing Luc to control her is out of the question even if he is the sexiest thing she’s ever seen and she can barely keep her hands off him.

Luc Delemere, the powerful leader of the North American werewolves, didn’t want a mate because her life would constantly be in danger. But when a bedraggled human crawls out of the icy river and stumbles into his barn, Luc finds it impossible to resist his sensual, but stubborn mate. The claw marks on her body confirm that she was attacked by a werewolf, but Luc wants to know who lured her to his land and why.

When Santana receives a note that says “Leave or Luc Dies,” she betrays Luc to save his life.

Can Luc untangle a web of lies and betrayal to find his mate before the assassin does?

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, BDSM theme and elements, exhibitionism, male/male sexual practices, sex in shifted form, voyeurism.

Review:

Santana’s Heat was one steamy roller coaster of story. Luc is clearly smitten with the human who ends up on his property, and while he’s in the middle of taking care of pack business, he’s not blind enough to let her beauty and passionate nature go on the way side. He realizes some danger is lurking for her and can’t just allow her to leave, though she tempts the beast out of him.

Santana is a smart and strong woman who isn’t going to let one attack rule her life, if only she could figure out why someone wants her dead.

She fights off multiple attacks on her life that tie into the sexy man who’s playing host for her.

When she meets a young boy she’s taken back to the past, to a young life she’s not able to save, and will do whatever it takes to make sure this one is okay, even if it means her plans for escape are foiled.

High packed action and white hot passion fill the pages of this story. Things are clearly not what they seam and the answer lay somewhere in the unsaid, in a past repressed and not forgotten for one. Tempers will rise, fighting will ensue. In one instant of clarity it’ll all come together to show the future of the pack and an unconditional love unencumbered by an assassin.

This is one read I’ll dive into again.

Blurb/Summary:

Josh and Cole live alone on an isolated, six-hundred-acre farm. Chelsea, a local girl from town, visits them sometimes to help them keep their needs met. She thrives off Cole's dominant nature. The meaningless ménage is not enough for Josh, who wants a woman who can help him reach Cole emotionally. Who can help him win Cole's love?

When Toni arrives at the farm, she quickly discovers the men's arrangement with Chelsea, and that it's not satisfying Josh at all. As Josh and Toni's attraction and connection grows, Josh becomes sure she's the right fit for both of them. He knows she's the one who can help him break through the ice around Cole's heart. But first, he's got to find a tactful way to get rid of Chelsea, and then, he's got to convince both Cole and Toni that Toni wants them both.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, ménage (m/f/m).

Review:

Braided Desire by JC Szot touched me. Toni, the heroine, had tragedy touch her life at an early age. The tragedy affected her ability to form long lived relationships. She sequestered her time as an accountant in a big firm, a job that could be done in solitude and pursued her other passion in dancing, a way to unleash her complex emotions.

Cole owns a farm on the outskirts of town and is doing poorly after his own personal loss. He’s a handsome man with a broody temperament who gives his passion to the townee he and Josh share as a casual fuck. But with Toni, there he finds he desires more out of life but drowns himself in booze instead of reaching out and taking.

Josh loves his best friend but won’t stand idle and not enjoy the passion he feels for their new tenant. He treats her as a gentleman would, but also enjoys long passionate nights with her. At the cost of ending his friendship, it eats him away until they find a way to bridge Cole’s barriers and bring him into their arms for a threesome that will bond them together forever.

This story held me enthralled with all the complex barriers each one of them possessed. I loved the peace keeper Josh, his ability to de-escalate a given situation, and how he boldly loved them both.

International soccer star Josh Friedland has a secret. He's a griffin shapeshifter, and a covert operative for Department 57. Josh's brother Laurie is missing, and Josh is sure businessman George Skeffington is involved. So he definitely can't trust Skeffington's stepdaughter, Chana Rafiz, even though he wants her with every fiber of his being.

When her controlling stepfather asks Chana to look after his guest, she suspects another trick to keep her by his side; only she finds that Josh is the man she's been waiting for all her life. Long, hot Californian nights see their bodies twined in more inventive positions than Chana even knew existed, but when she finally discovers his secret, she uncovers another. One about herself that'd been kept from her her whole life.

Together, Josh and Chana have to face dangers only Department 57 can help them with, but they plunge the whole Department into peril. If the Department is to endure, and Laurie is to be found, Josh and Chana must defeat the longest odds to succeed in their mission.

Publisher's Note: This book is a re-edited, revised version of the one previously released by another publisher, and contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Violence.

Review:

Dept. 57: Griffin's Treasure is one action packed read. Josh and Chana have sizzling chemistry from the get go. Clearly Chana isn’t happy with her personal life and the path she’s on, she just hasn’t found a way to escape an overly controlling step- father. And then Josh enters and she’s immediately drawn to his charismatic personality, so much so she puts him rightly in his place. That instance brought a chuckle to my lips. I admired Josh’s tenacity. He had charm that worked magic.

When it came to his brother, I’d hoped they’d find him in one piece.

Betrayal is in the works in this great read in a way that is heart breaking. The way the different species worked together amazed me even in the time of destruction and turmoil they didn’t blame Chana but embraced her. When the villain ended up receiving his due, I clapped. I was sickened that he’d been able to further manipulate his way into their lives after the depravity he’d caused for untold years.

I loved the setting and reading this Dept. 57 story and all the many species of paranormal beings included.

Evanne Lorraine does a wonderful job engaging the reader with Camille’s Capture. From the beginning, I was enthralled by the detailed build of her galactic world and the new Earthen world and her spin on the different species and warriors. I felt so horrible for Aegis and the loss of his parents and the innocent life he disregarded as a teen. However the tragedy made him into a formidable warrior that radiated spellbound power.

Add to that Jaxon’s all consuming lust/love for his best friend and a bond that’s illegal for them to share and it’s heartbreaking. Bringing in Cami is perfect for them. Her inability to conceive in her traditional way sends her on a journey to complete her task in a way that’s tasteless to those with her status.

Life sets them on a course that will teach them what really matters. I hoped Jaxon would accept Aegis for who he was and not what he’d been raised to learn, and loved Cami’s sassy mouth in telling Jaxon how it was. The passion between the three pushed past all bounds even while they combated an enemy stronger than they imagined.

I enjoyed this read immensely.

But Tasha Henslow, a bed and breakfast owner whose building faces foreclosure, is not lonely and she’s not old. Nor, unfortunately, is she anonymous. Review:

He's in disguise as a Rent-A-Husband, but the way he's feeling about Tasha, could he convince her to turn it into a permanent gig?

Crete needs somewhere to lie low for awhile, until he can testify at a trial. So he goes to see an old friend, Sage, who comes up with the perfect hiding place for him. Her best friend needs help with her B & B, bad. Crete takes over and soon wins Tasha's heart. But the dangers certainly lurk....

I enjoyed Rent-A-Husband, Inc. very much! It's full of secrets, danger, and of course, falling in love. Moira Reid creates dynamic, memorable characters that you can't help but love. Witty dialogue and interesting situations. The plot is well thought out and creative. This is my first time reading this author, but I can say with assurance it won't be my last.

Looking for romantic suspense with a bit of humor? Look no further than Rent-A-Husband, Inc. by Moira Reid.
