Reviewer: Stacey Krug

Blurb/Summary:

Maggie’s just decided she’s been stood up when she bumps into hard-bodied guitarist Calvin—literally. Once the shock of their abrupt meeting wears off, Calvin asks Maggie out for a drink and she figures, why not? She’s all dressed up for a date…just not this one.

She enjoys his company, even if he’s only twenty-seven and she’s forty…something. And while witty conversation’s all good, they’re just as compatible in bed. One drink turns into multiple romps between the sheets. He’s old enough to know how to make love to a woman and young enough to look damn fine doing it…and doing it. He even manages to convince Maggie she’s still pretty hot herself.

Now if he would just stop serenading her with that infernal Rod Stewart song.

Review:

Waking Maggie is a great story about second chances and a cougar getting in her groove. Though the story is short the characters are endearing and easy to connect with as a reader.

Maggie will capture your heart with her courage and endurance. Calvin with his loving nature towards Maggie is heart-warming. The two of them together scorch the pages with their love making and will leave you wanting more.

This is a well written story that will have you laughing out loud and leaving you hopeful. If you are looking for a contemporary romance with some sizzle, then check out Waking Maggie. I will be looking for other works by Cindy Jacks.

Blurb/Summary:

Hit TV show lovers Gwen and Dirk are a real-life couple. After a production shake-up, a hot young starlet is hired to replace Gwen onscreen. Threatened much? Gwen is terrified that Dirk, who’s ten years younger, will leave her in real life too—but she won’t give up without a fight.

Dirk adores Gwen, but her paranoia is killing him…killing them. He’s at the end of his rope when he finds one more piece of rope—in the front seat of his car. Hmm…the possibilities.

Review:

Soap Bloke was a great read. I’m not into much daytime television but after reading this delightful story, maybe I should turn on the tube and see what I’m missing. I found Dirk and Gwen an adorable couple.

Gwen’s insecurities stemming no doubt from the lime lights younger is better mindset, and her man’s previous relationships. What I saw was that Dirk really loved Gwen in a way that had nothing to do with age but everything to do with all woman. They had an unrivalled chemistry that blazed white hot. I felt if she kept up, she’d lose out on a good thing, love.

Dirk really showed me how compassionate he was when dealing with his woman and his job. The fact that he had enough control to separate business from pleasure on set showcased how well he could rein in emotions and remain logical at the same time. I was saddened when their profession and their personal life came to a cross roads. I only hoped he’d be able to find a different approach to showing Gwen he was hers for keeps, and hoped that Gwen would trust in him.

Blurb/Summary:

Rock star Gia Santora is at the height of her career when a frightening brush with a psychotic stalker changes her life. Three years later, she’s ready for more than a string of one-night stands on the road, but finding a date isn’t easy for a woman with a bodyguard. When she meets her sexy young opening act, he pushes all her buttons, sexually and emotionally.

Sin Carstens is rock’s hottest new guitar god with a body and a voice to match his name. He takes Gia on a wild sexual ride that has them literally rockin’ the tour bus. But Sin’s got priorities other than music and sex. He wants a relationship with the commitment-shy Gia. When the stalker gets loose and their lives are on the line, Gia pushes Sin away. But Sin’s willing to fight Gia’s fears in an effort to win himself the sexiest woman he’s ever known, and prove that he can rock her world.

Review:

Age is just a number. But for Gia, that number is beginning to get higher and higher. She's a famous rock star singer, overcomes a brush with a crazy stalker and doesn't expect to find more than a fling with the hot, new and younger opening act on tour with her. Sin is younger and views life and priorities much different than Gia, but he can't help the way he feels about her. Their sexual chemistry sizzles, and he wants to find a way to win her heart forever.

I enjoyed this story. I was intrigued by the famous rock star hero and heroine. Rock My World is full of emotion, hot sex scenes, and finding love at any age. I felt there could have been a little more story developing with Sin and Gia, and would have liked to have seen more plot with the stalker part, but overall it was very enjoyable.

If you enjoy a younger man/older woman story, rock star singers, and life on the road, then pick up Rock My World. It may very well rock yours.

Blurb/Summary:

For the first time since the untimely passing of her husband years before, Professor Alene Slavlovsky has agreed to take on a new piano student from the university. She has heard a lot about the gifted Tyler Watson and is eager to work with the prodigy.

Tyler has never felt such an immediate and strong physical attraction to a woman. He can’t look at her without imagining licking something off her smooth, shapely body. Everything she says sounds like a sexy double entendre. His pants are getting tighter by the minute. He’s not sure he can even sit to play the piano.

Alene can’t believe how this much-younger man affects her. But Tyler Watson is all man—a bright, beautiful, extraordinarily gifted man who knows he wants her. And lets her know he plans to have her. In her wildest dreams, Alene never would’ve guessed that Tyler’s magic fingerwork away from the keyboard would make her hear music.

Review:

In Teaching Tyler, Glynnis Ivy takes you on an erotic journey between two completely different people who have two things in common and they are their love and talent for music. With Alene being so much older and her being out of practice in the love department, she is unable to deal with her feelings toward her much younger and so very sexy student Tyler.

This is a well written short story that will take you on an adventure of both emotional and sensual delight. Glynnis Ivy is a new to me author who I thoroughly enjoyed and will add to my must read list and truly recommend her stories.

Blurb/Summary:

Holidays are all about relaxation. And what better way to relax than with a hot holiday fling?

On vacation in Mexico with her two best friends, forty-one-year-old Celeste Kopp vows to break out of her middle-aged rut and live life to the fullest. Taking surf lessons is on the top of her to do list. However, when she meets sexy surf instructor Ben, the idea of a holiday fling with a younger man becomes the only thing on her list.

Ben is more than willing to live out Celeste’s fantasies as well as a few of his own. But their holiday romance turns out to be more than either of them bargained for when the connection between them deepens. Being with Celeste forces Ben to deal with his own baggage in a way he never expected.

As the vacation draws to a close, Celeste realizes she wants so much more from Ben than a holiday fling, but can she convince him that their future together is worth the risk?

Review:

Within the pages of Sex, Sin and Surf, Lauren Fraser packs a lot of emotion, conflict, and let's not forget erotic love scenes. Ms. Fraser takes the complexity of a vacation fling between and older woman and younger man and shows the reader how it can work.

There is quite the age difference between Celeste and Ben, but their attraction to each other is hotter than the sand on a summer day. Celeste never expected to feel so much more for Ben, and she tries to talk him into coming back up into the States. But Ben hesitates, reluctant to share the reasons for his decisions.

In just a short amount of time, Lauren Fraser creates a hot love story that will have the readers smiling in satisfaction. With stories like Sex, Sin, and Surf, I will keep coming back for more.

Blurb/Summary:

Self-proclaimed cougar Bliss Drake has blue screened. Suffering from a broken heart and a dead computer, she finds herself standing in the middle of an electronics store nursing sweaty palms and lusty thoughts.

Tall, dark and sexy Brad Hoffman is a nerd. When the beautiful black woman with a serious fear of computers starts talking about flinging herself into a display case at his favorite electronics store, he’s happy to offer his…erm…services.

Can a computer-phobic beauty and a sexy geek ever sync up? Only if they can cobble together the right bits ‘n’ bytes!

Review:

Bits ‘n’ Bytes melted my hard drive. Bliss tickled my funny bone. Her reaction to technology is the epitome of natural fear of the unknown. I fully expected her to keep her dinosaur running even though she had the perfect opportunity scoring the sexiest man alive.

Intelligent and sexy Brad had me drooling from the get go. Add in the fact that he built the perfect software and is a lover of dogs and I was hooked. I only hoped that city girl Bliss would take a chance on the wild side and hook up with Brad. When a man from her past swooped, I knew his association would end up biting her in her ass. I just hoped Brad would be there to smooth the hurt and make it all better.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

Blurb/Summary:

All Anna wants for her fortieth birthday is a ladies’ night out. Her plans are stalled when she ends up stuck in her griffin costume. The mascot for the Alexandria Griffins, she never expects to be rescued by the star of her midnight fantasies, quarterback Kyran Black. Called “The Rebel” by the press because of his long hair, tattoos and playboy stats off the field, he’s everything Anna should avoid.

Kyran is gorgeous and irresistible and he suggests they celebrate her birthday together. Certain she’s too old for him, she agrees to one night. Kyran’s charm and dominance in bed blitz Anna’s defenses, teaching her things about sex she never thought she’d experience.

But when their one-night stand turns into a relationship, his bad-boy past comes back to threaten their future.

Review:

This book was so delicious I don’t know where to begin. Kyran Black is the type of hero every woman would love to have. Talented, smart, caring, and a dirty talker, he speaks his mind and follows through with his word. On the flip side Anna personifies women of her age group and even some younger. The fears, thoughts of inadequacies, flaws she sees that would be invisible to anyone else give us a direct visual of what she believes she lacks. What she fails to see is that aging doesn’t make her less of sexy woman, and her other traits are what add to her desirability.

I kept rooting for this couple, through all the media, the agenda of some choice people who I deem cook coo for coco puffs and those aiming for the highlight spot, not caring if their negligent behaviour ruins lives. I hoped his past wouldn’t bite him in the butt and that through it all the true substance of both hero and heroine would emerge. The sex was white hot, but everything else cemented it together in the perfect package.

Blurb/Summary:

It’s been a year since her divorce and Lily Justice is ready to move on—but not with just any man. She’s got a certain drool-worthy body shop owner in mind. It’s almost convenient that her car needs some work. And when she meets Kyle Wolff up close and personal, her inner-slut has to have him, age difference be damned. With the car staying at the shop, Kyle graciously offers to give her a lift home.

While she accepts a ride on Kyle’s hot motorcycle, Lily’s inner-slut wants a hot ride on Kyle.

She’s about to get what she wants. And it will be the ride of her life…

Review:

You will fall in love with Kyle and Lily. Ride of Her Life is a great story; very playful and fun. Between Kyle, the alpha male, and Lily, the emotionally battered ex-wife, it’s easy to get lost in their romance.

Anne Rainey sucks you right in with her descriptive details and wonderful characters. This is a tale you won’t put down until it’s done.

If you like your romance with a hopeful ending, then try Ride of Her Life.

Based on this story, I would check out other creations by Ann Rainey.

Blurb/Summary:

A standalone story in the Cougar Challenge series.

Lee Blackhorse is hardly Cougar material, no matter what her friends over at Tempt the Cougar say. A forty-two-year-old woman who lusts after her thirty-year-old weekend helper is just plain nuts. Or is she? Mike Running Elk is the sexiest thing ever to don tight jeans and a second-skin t-shirt. She’s secretly yearned for the man for years.

Mike has no problem seeing himself in the role of Lee’s lover. In fact, if he can just get the hot-as-hell woman to realize he’s plenty old enough to ring her bells, he plans to do more than just clean her barn and mow her grass. He’s waited for her long enough.

When Mike shows up at her door with an injured hand, he notices Lee can’t pull her eyes off his naked, ripped chest. Mike can’t believe she’s as oblivious as she acts. The ice has been broken and he intends to heat things up even more…

Reader Advisory: Our poor heroine endures some mild violence in a particular scene, but don’t worry—the hero’s got her back.

Review:

Talk about scorching hot! I'd love to have a cool dark drink of water with rippling abs and intense eyes show up on my doorstep.

There's nothing like a man determined to get the girl ditching society’s standards, and a woman deciding she's worth more than the crap from the past.

The fire that sparked between Mike and Lee kept my attention. Having a hero willing to step up to the plate and treat a woman right is way thumbs up in my opinion... and “age ain’t nothin’ but a number.”

This cougar story was one thirst quenching read.

Blurb/Summary:

With the big four-oh looming, Larissa Cross is more than ready to shed the roles that have defined her and make drastic changes. Gone are the widowed Army wife, soccer mom and empty nester. She’s even setting aside the schoolteacher until fall.

A naughty challenge issued by fellow erotic romance booklovers on their blog, Tempt the Cougar, has come at the perfect time and ignited Rissa’s competitive drive. It’s going to be a glorious summer full of hot younger man lovin’ for a new cougar on the prowl. Rawr!

Tattooed and pierced fireman JD Harmon is tempting prey but there’s much more to the hunk than his bad boy good looks. A one-night stand isn’t in his plans, and sex—no matter how mind-blowing—won’t distract him from his goals. JD intends to tame the wicked cougar and stake a claim on her heart.

Review:

I enjoyed Summer of the Cougar more than I thought I would. Rissa, nearly forty, a teacher, widowed with two older kids takes on a challenge; to go to bed with a younger man.

She meets JD when her car decides to break down, and from there on, the two spend much time together in bed and out. JD is looking for much more than just sex, he is looking for love. Rissa, on the other hand, is not.

Reading about the two proved to be very interesting, and I very much liked how the story ended. Reading this makes me believe that love can be found at any age, despite the difference between the two. Great read!

Blurb/Summary:

Daphne Kemp is trying to get her life and finances back in order after her ex-husband left her with a huge debt. When her friend suggests she answer an ad to model for famous photographer Gerard Lynch, the lure of paying off some of that debt is too strong to resist.

One look at Gerard lures Daphne into more than modeling. She breaks her rules about one-night stands and younger men and spends a sex-filled evening with the handsome photographer.

Gerard never gets involved with his models, yet he is immediately drawn to Daphne. He has to find a way to break down the walls she’s erected around her heart to give them a chance at forever.

Review:

A quick read, exploring the relationship between an older woman and younger man. Daphne, in need of some extra cash, interviews to pose for a famous photographer and the two are instantly attracted to each other. The sparks fly instantly.

The story has plenty of love scenes that are hot and steamy. Gerard is a very likeable hero, intense and very sweet. Lynn LaFleur demonstrates in a short amount of time how two very different people come together in a short time and make things work.

I liked reading Soft Focus very much, and the ending made me burst with laughter.
