Blurb/Summary:

Who doesn’t love a good swap meet? You find tons of great stuff you don’t need, but hey, sometimes someone else’s trash just speaks to you, amiright?

Some things a little louder than others…

As in, some things actually “speak.”

Dominique Acosta should know. One minute she’s just living her life, spending time with her grandpa in his memory care facility, and the next thing, everyone’s questioning her mental health after she starts shouting “THOR!” uncontrollably, without warning—in a drugstore.

All thanks to a talking hammer she spotted at a swap meet.

Which then showed up in her kitchen…

So who do you turn to when you now own a talking hammer and you can’t stop randomly screaming the name of a Norse God everywhere you go? OOPS, of course! And Nina, Wanda and Marty come running.

And hot on their heels?

Harvey Larsen—huge, handsome, and apparently, the hammer’s babysitter. Oh, and he’s also Thor’s son? Yes. That Thor. (More on that particular god’s prolific baby-making abilities later.)

Apparently, Dom’s been chosen to protect Midgard (Earth to mere mortals) and rule Asgard. As it happens, she’s the only person on the planet who can pick the hammer up. Lucky her…

But the hammer’s hot property, and everyone wants to get their paws on it. So Harvey and the girls from OOPS will have to train this reluctant warrior how to wield such a powerful weapon quickly, if she stands any chance of getting out of this alive…

And saving the entire world…

Review:

Loved the creative license Dakota Cassidy took with Thor and Asgard. The OOPS ladies were in top form in this installment. I also enjoyed seeing characters brought in from past stories. It solidifies the notion of Framily that the OOPS women have created with their altruism. Not sure how they have time for their own families with all the volunteering they do. Would love to see a “week in the life” of these women. Do they ever sleep?

Dominique Acosta is adorable and devoted to her grandfather. She is all things good and protective. Dominique is worthy of wielding Thor’s hammer and so much more. Dominique and Harvey Larsen, Thor’s son, make a cute couple. Harvey has issues with his parental figure and a side of drama.

As with past Accidentals the OOPS ladies rally with all their might and Harvey is swept up in the commotion and preparations. Harvey helps Dominique become the warrior that Asgard needs and in doing so discovers things about himself.

I laughed out loud and enjoyed the story immensely!

Blurb/Summary:

CORBIN: Wild Wolf Pack from the world of Gallize Shifters

In his late teens, Corbin fell for a female wolf shifter who, like him, was living secretly among humans. That mistaken trust cost him years of freedom and left him with a broken wolf. Now that he has escaped the Romanian gang leader who bought him, he’s hiding in a South Carolina wolf shifter pack where he wants to prove his value so he can stay. That’s why he volunteered for a security contract his pack leader accepted where they will investigate a high-value entertainment shifter whose human bodyguards keep dying. When Corbin discovers it’s the same woman who ruined his life, he’s happy to do his part in determining if she’s an innocent victim or a killer.

Gifted with a natural ability to sing, wolf shifter Eirene lives a dual life on stage performing and covertly helping female shifters running from abusive packs. She hides them from dangerous alphas and shifter law enforcement anxious to lock up rogue shifters with no pack alliance. If her secret gets out, Eirene will be fingered as a criminal and lose her protected celebrity status, but she knows what it’s like to be a female wolf shifter with no one to depend upon. Especially not a man since all of those she’s ever known have let her down, starting with the young man who stole her heart years ago then disappeared without a word.

When the third member of a security detail forced on her by her trustee is critically injured following two who died in mysterious ways, she catches a familiar scent. A wolf shifter from her past, the last person she wants to see when she can’t juggle a new problem.

With one bad decision, Eirene and Corbin land in the wrong place at the wrong time facing jackal shifters stalking them. Could it be shifter law enforcement trying to entrap Eirene or the Romanian leader hunting Corbin? They both have secrets to protect and need each other to survive, but can they trust again?

Dive into the new romantic adventure spin off series from the League of Gallize Shifters that will yank on your heart strings with every unexpected twist and pin you to the edge of your seat until the explosive ending.

Review:

Fabulous story in the Gallize Shifter world. Both Corbin and Eirene have great back stories and everyday real-life drama of “normal” shifters. Their stories each show how discrimination, easy manipulation by extortion, and poor use of power can ruin shifter lives so quickly. It was very apparent in this story that the public views shifters as dangerous and not to be trusted.

Corbin and Eirene fight to survive each day facing down the odds against them. Not only do they survive, but they choose to thrive and make a difference in the community. Eirene is a true envoy of her own making.

These two compliment on another and genuinely want what is best for each other. Their wolves lend both gravity and humor to the story allowing their humans to connect on a different level.

The story revolves around Corbin and Eirene, but there are some of the main characters from the Gallize world involved in their destiny. Corbin was a thoroughly entertaining read, and I loved the characters.

Blurb/Summary:

Stevie and Win here, back in the mystery solving saddle again!

Cary Donahue, owns Pretty Fly for a Fry Guy, a new place in Eb Falls, where all manner of the most decadent crispy French fry combinations this side of the planet are made. Imagine tender brisket, smoked and sliced to perfection on a bed of cheesy fries, topped with tangy barbecue sauce.

To say I’d found my new home away from home is an understatement, much to the dismay of Win and my cholesterol. But when Cary is quite suddenly unalived, all of Eb Falls is in shock.

Who would harm the man who served bits of fried, starchy Heaven with a smile and a kind word?

Of course, Cary appears to us from the afterlife, looking for our help to solve his murder, but in a strange turn of events and quite suddenly,
I can hear him and Win can see him. Taken aback by this new twist in our ghostly communications, we’re even more surprised to find Cary isn’t communicating in choppy sentences and vague appearances the way most entities we deal with do. He's clear as a bell, so solving his murder should be a piece of cake, right? Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy.

But there’s just one small problem, Cary isn’t in possession of the entirety of his memories—as in, almost any of his past or much of what he remembers weeks before he was murdered.

Figures, right? But we jump in feet first anyway, and as we peel back the layers of Cary’s life, we discover far more than we bargained for.

A hidden past, tawdry secrets, lies, powerful people in high places, and more murder than you can shake a stick at!

Review:

Fabulous trip back into Eb Falls for another delightful story. Dakota Cassidy keeps it interesting by changing up Win and Stevie’s ghostly abilities. If this becomes an ever-changing dynamic, it will keep the stories fresh and engaging on another level.

This installment had everything a reader has come to expect from this series: witty dialogue, crazy ideas implemented, fun interpersonal relationships between the main characters, small town gossip, and even some ghost gossip. This story had a great plot, surprising plot twists, and was a page-turner.

The Case Of The Phantom Spy And The Haunted French Fry was a wonderful tale. Not including the ghostly and magical activity, this plot seems entirely plausible in real life. The paranormal aspect lent to and brought about the actual consequences for the criminals. I think the consequences were the part that seemed more fictional than the rest! Terrific addition to the Witched and Hitched Mysteries series

Blurb/Summary:

The final term at Nocturne Academy has begun… and something dark is stirring beneath the surface...

Avery
Being gay in the magical world means hiding who you are—or paying the price. I’ve learned to keep my head down, stay close to my coven, and survive the football team's cruelty one insult at a time. But nothing prepared me for Saint, my new roommate. There’s a haunted look in his golden eyes... and a monster under his skin.
A Cursed Drake lives inside him—possessive, obsessed, and terrifyingly fixated on me. He whispers of “cuddles,” but there’s violence in his desire. I should be running. Instead, I’m drawn to both the boy and the beast.

Saint

My whole life, I’ve been taught to fear what I am. To hide it. To fight it. But the curse burning inside me grows stronger every day. And when Avery came into my life—brilliant, brave, and already carrying wounds of his own—the fire inside me turned to obsession.
He soothes my madness. Calms the chaos.
But the Drake is hungry… and it wants him.
If I give in, I’ll lose myself. If I resist, I might lose him.

At
Nocturne Academy, love is forbidden, dragons are cursed, and being different can get you killed.
But some things are worth the danger.

Review:

The final book in the Nocturne Academy series did not disappoint. This is Avery and Saint’s story and is full of teenage boy angst, curses, and family drama. Drake and Danger is a YA story and does not contain explicit content but does cover mature themes.

Evangeline Anderson does a wonderful job of bringing to light the difficulties facing the LGBTQ+ community not only from their own family but society. If you have read the other three previous books, then you will understand that they have a “found and made” family from the coven they have all formed. Everyone needs support through life and this story is a good example.

All the original characters play a role in Avery and Saint’s story. Both the characters and readers get a closer look at both boy’s living situations at home. The story has non-stop action and is quite the page-turner.

In the final author notes, Evangeline Anderson, states that this will probably be the last story. She makes sure that we know they will all support one another going forward as a family. The ending is both a HEA and HFN.

I really enjoyed this final story.

Blurb/Summary:

Welcome to my worst effin’ nightmare—The Accidental Detective Agency…

I’m Nina Statleon, a vampire (with a little bit of witch thrown in for good measure—a sucky, magic less one), for those interested. My best friends, Marty, a werewolf and and Wanda, a halfsie, have talked me into opening a detective agency for paranormals.

Let me be real clear, I do not want to be a detective and I think this idea is bananapants. Now the dungeon in my castle in Long Island is our new office, I call the
murder basement, filled with watercolor landscapes, throw rugs and uncomfortable furniture—all in the name of making our clients comfortable.

That said, my partners in this new adventure don’t care about all my protests. That’s how we end up with our first client, Brenda Bronkowski, an older vampire the human police are hunting down for
 murder

Brenda fell for one of the oldest tricks in this new age of technology’s book—a romance scam. Lonely and sad with only her pets for companionship, Brenda hooked up—with a human—a much younger one. You guessed it, Brenda was catfished.

Now that much younger human, Owen Barker, is dead, leaving behind a wife and two kids. Brenda swears she’s never even met him, let alone murdered him and she’s come to us for help finding the person responsible for his murder.

Not only is the suspect list low (like, we only have two), there’s a glitch, and it’s a big one.

The clan.

They don’t like it when a vampire’s been accused of murdering a human. They take you out, ask questions later. Brenda’s technically a fugitive we’re harboring while we investigate. It’s bad enough the human police like her for Owen's murder, but if the clan finds out we’ve got her holed up in the murder basement, it won’t only be curtains for Brenda, our little private investigating gig could be over before it’s really begun.

Which wouldn’t exactly be the end of the world for me, but my overachieving BFFs would never let me hear the end of it. That means, we need to solve this pronto, so we can get the clan off our backs, but more importantly, so Brenda doesn’t end up expunged...

Review:

Great debut novel in a spin off series from the Accidentals. I loved that it was written in Nina’s point of view but had all the OOPs ladies. This new series is also a fantastic way to bring in previous OOPs clients to help solve the mystery, and let readers see how they have progressed in their new paranormal lives.

Although this is the first book in a spin off series, you do not have to have read the previous series. Nina, Wanda, and Marty have a strong relationship already established in this first book based on their previous experiences. If you want to see how those bonds were formed, then check out the Accidental Series. If not, then just enjoy this book. They are still managing to get into major scrapes even after all this time.

This new series was set up a little in the last Accidental book. We knew it was coming, and it did not disappoint. The Accidental Detectives: It’s Called Murder, Benda. Look It Up has great characters, some old and some new, a fast-moving plot with action, and can be read in one sitting or savored.

I enjoyed the new twist on what and how the ladies will be interacting in their world going forward. Great first book!

Blurb/Summary:

SLADE

I knew as soon as I saw her that she was MINE.

It's called The Lightning Strike--the feeling a Brute gets when he finds his Fated Mate. I knew Aurora was my Fated Mate, but how could I get her?

She's a Princess but worse, she's Untainted with pure human DNA--they don't want anything to do with my kind. I guess I can't blame her--I'm a criminal after all. A member of the Four Families--Clan Cruel to be exact. Sure we dabble in extortion, gun-running, gambling, and illegal cloning. But that doesn't mean I won't do anything in the universe to make the curvy little human mine and taste her until she moans my name and tugs my horns.

Aurora

All I knew about Slade was that he was the Enforcer from Clan Cruel who collected our Tribute every six months. Muscles strained the expensive suits he wore and his golden eyes followed me everywhere. The way he looked at me made me quiver inside so I tried to avoid him.

I had no idea he had decided I was his Fated Mate.

Apparently, he's been watching me for years and now he sees his opportunity--my foolish younger brother has gambled away all the tribute money. With no other way to pay, I'm forced to accept his proposition--Slade wants to marry me and make me bear his heir. For six months he gets to try to impregnate me. If I get pregnant, I have to stay.

I'm not staying.

I might have to marry the huge Brute, but I'll never have his child.

Author's Note
--Cruel Union is a forced marriage, Dark Mafia Romance--the first book in the new Brutal Universe Series.

Enter The Brutal Universe

Years ago everyone who could afford it left the dying Earth and traveled to the stars. There, humanity found that they were not alone—there was plenty of sentient life to connect with…if they wanted to.

A core group of humans refused to have anything to do with the aliens. The Untainted, as they chose to call themselves, have pure human blood in their veins—their DNA has remained unchanged for centuries. They marry each other and do their best to ignore the outsiders—but there are some who are hard to ignore…for instance, the Brutal Crime Lords.

The Brutal Crime Organization operates like the Cosa Nostra back on Dying Earth. Made up of four different Alien Crime families, they rule over whole sectors of the Imperium Galaxy and extract tribute from anyone living in their territory. The Brutes, as they are called, have inhuman lusts. Always searching for their Fated Mate, once they find her, they develop
The Thirst which compels them to taste her juices. Some have tails and most have horns. All of them have special equipment that’s big enough to split a woman in two…or give her pleasure beyond her wildest dreams.
When a woman enters a Permanent Binding with a Brute, she can never, ever be free of him.

*Author's Note--I hope you'll enjoy this new series--I wanted to take Mafia Romance themes and tropes and put them in a sci-fi setting filled with cruel and irresistible Alien Mafia Enforcers. Expect to find Love and Betrayal, Enemies to Lovers, and growly, grumpy Morally Grey Heroes determined to find their Fated Mates at all costs.

The Four Families

Clan Cruel--
these Alien Mafiosos carry a Darkness inside them that other Clans fear
Clan Savage--
Serpentine blood ensures these Alien Enforcers have fangs and a desire to taste their woman's blood
Clan  Vicious
--Moving neon tatts and an ability to read their enemy’s intentions are the characteristics of these Morally Grey Alien Capos.
Clan Ruthless --
These Alien Crime Lords have bat-like wings and burning red eyes.

*All Four Clans have 3 things in common
-- Horns, Knots, and The Thirst--an insatiable desire to taste their Fated Mate

Review:

Great beginning to a new series. This is NOT set in the Kindred universe. This is a whole new series with a new universe and characters. There are some science fiction similarities in the Brutal Universe that Evangeline Anderson has used before, so it will not be a complete shock to her regular readers.

I really enjoyed the power dynamic between Slade and Aurora. Even though Slade had the upper hand from the very beginning, he never forced their relationship past getting married. This is not spoiling anything for future readers as the whole point of the book is that he claims and marries her. It is what he does after the claiming that was so much fun to read. Their developing relationship journey was entertaining.

Cruel Union has a good plot, action, lots of chemistry, and strict relationship/vow rules. I like the new clan characters. They each have a distinctive look to them and an unusual moral code. The ending had a pleasant surprise. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Blurb/Summary:

Who knew a silly game of Twister would turn into this?

After a spirited game of Twister with her fellow apartment mates, wherein the absence of the cardboard "spinny thing” forces them to use an old planchette from a Ouija board as a replacement, Roberta Tisdale’s left hand can, among other fun stuff, set things on fire—namely, her hair.

And right after meeting her, Nina’s hair, too.

Imagine how that conversation goes...

Just when Robbie was adjusting to her new life after turning her back on her wealthy family and their evil machinations, this happens, but she throws her whole body into this crazy magic she's happened upon, learning how to cast spells without taking out an entire country, and getting acquainted with her new ride, a talking broom named, Hervé (yep. Like the guy on
Fantasy Island). All this in the hopes she can become a part of a community who’ll welcome her—a place where she can belong...

Greer Winthrop, a former male witch who’s lost his powers and placed a self-imposed isolation from his coven on himself, has an ugly past and an even uglier secret he’s carried with him for five years. Five painful years. When he gets wind of the scent of his dead grandmother’s magic, now lodged in Robbie’s hand, he’s all about teaching her how to use it while he waits to hear from his coven for advice.

Except, he never hears from his coven and he can’t figure out how his grandmother’s power is still floating around the universe when she’s supposed to be dead… Her magic should have died with her. Review:

Thoroughly enjoyed the non-stop action and the wonderful characters in The Accidental Witch. We get to meet Roberta (Robbie) Tisdale after she is turned into a witch. I don’t think that’s giving anything away considering the title. Robbie has had a rough go of it lately and a horrid family life. She is struggling but persevering in the face of adversity.

Greer Winthrop has had his own struggles and devastating grief to deal with. However, he drops everything to help Robbie transition to this new phase of her life while also helping to protect her.

In true Accidentals fashion, Robbie and Greer grow close as they help each other through this incident. Of course, the OOPs ladies are there every step of the way with their entire entourage. We also get to meet some new characters that hopefully will feature in the upcoming spinoff series, The Accidental Detectives.

The Accidental Witch is a fantastic addition to the series and an uplifting story.
