 Blurb/Summary:

When Sameera Kattan's band Final Regret gets signed, she is over the moon with excitement. But becoming a superstar overnight is so surreal that she doesn't quite know what to do with the fame and public adoration. If only her longtime friend Jimmy, the lead guitarist for Crimson Rage would celebrate with her. Instead she's out on tour with a broody male who goes from hot to cold in seconds, putting a strain on their renewed friendship.

Jimmy O’Riley can't function with Sam around. Seeing her is like a ray of sunshine and a knife in the gut at the same time. Jealousy clouds his judgment whenever a man lays hands on what should've been his years ago. Endless liquor and fast women fail to bring him the distraction he needs to survive. One thing he knows for sure is, a tour bus is sure is a tour bus is no place for them to put ghosts to bed.

Review:

Kiss Me Deadly is an emotional rollercoaster ride filled with family drama.  Mixed in the family drama are some deep seeded emotional issues and abuse, both physical and mental, that will have the reader reeling as the story flies by.

This is a story that follows others so I would recommend reading the previous stories or you will be a little lost.  If you plan on reading this one first, it will only spur you on to read the other stories to fill in the back story on this group.

Jimmy O’Riley has had some page time in the other books and now we get to hear his story.  His story just happens to be wrapped around
Sameera Kattan and what transpired between them and their families.  These two, with their shared history, light up the pages both in and out of the bedroom.  Their love is plain for all to see.

Mahalia Levey had me laughing out loud at this cast of characters with their antics and in tears from their pain.  She also included a very wonderful and surprising plot twist.  I will not spoil it for anyone, just go read the story!

Blurb/Summary:

Carson Cousins Book 1
Two years after losing her fiancé Zach in a car accident, Robin is moving on. She's set her priorities, and one of them is following through with a life plan she and Zach made together...having a baby. It would be best if said child shared some of Zach's genes. Enter David, Zach's older brother. He's Robin's best friend, her confidant, the one person who won't think she's crazy to do this...she hopes. Since there's no chance the ladies' man will fall for her, she hopes sex with him will stop the dreams where David takes Zach's place. It's the invitation he's been waiting for, three years of watching Robin with his little brother, then watching her grieve Zach. If only she wanted David for himself and not a convenient sperm donor to conceive his brother's child. Then again, in such close quarters, maybe he'll be able to convince her to something more permanent...if his parents don't catch wind of the whole thing first.

Review:

This was a fun story to read and watch unfold.  It’s hard not to like both the main characters, Robin and David.  The author brings them to life with believable backgrounds and insecurities.  Robin was engaged to David’s younger brother Zach.  Zach was killed in an accident that paralyzed Robin from moving forward.  While grieving, David was there for her as was Zach’s family.  When Robin decides she wants to have a baby and asks David to help her, David sees his chance to be with Robin.

Brenna Lyons turned up the heat in her extremely erotic, hot, steamy love scenes between Robin and David that will keep you reading for more.  The suspense around the parents and family finding out that David and Robin are together keeps the plot moving forward.  The secondary characters add some comedy and mirth to the story.

All I Want for Christmas is You is a story with some deep emotions that still managed to be light-hearted and enjoyable to read.  The ending is both happy and hopeful for the future unfolding for Robin and David.

Blurb/Summary:

One gigantic mistake threatens to bring Carlie Steven's world crumbling down. Everywhere she turns she's faced with reminders of the drunken moment leaving her friendless, expelled from her Ivy League College. With Jackson out of the country singing for the troops, his empty home will give her the breathing room she needs while coming up with a game plan to fix her situation.

Playing guitar used to be enough for Jackson Laurant. For years he's played the part of not giving a fuck. Too many one night stands in the bag leave him wanting what his two friends have found. With only a handful of shows left on the tour, his mind wanders to the off limits Carlie Stevens. For years, he’s denied the brewing attraction. When he finds she’s taken up residence in his home. He may have the in he’s wanted for too many years to count.

Review:

Kiss Me Like You Mean It is a nice follow up story for Shut Up and Kiss Me.  It is a standalone story, but there is a lot of history from the previous story mentioned in this new one.  The reader gets to revisit characters, get some follow up information, and see where the next story might lead.

Jackson Laurant is a member in Carlie Steven’s brother’s band.  They’ve known each other since they were both children.  They share some history, but their family situations couldn’t be more different.  They are both products of their environments and how they evolved and thrived alone is tested in this story.  Their friendship blossoms into love after some serious trials and errors.

The result is some explosive sexual tension that threatens to end what they just started.  Carlie and Jackson set fire to the pages as they find their balance.

This is an erotic romance, but also a journey into a maturing friendship that will support Carlie and Jackson into the future.

Blurb/Summary:

Nina is normal Florida girl with a job and a life and a grandmother she adores. But lately she’s been having disturbing dreams. Dreams of a man with a shadowed face—a man filled with pain and need and desire only she can slake. She fears him but at the same time, the dreams leave her breathless with need. Who is this dark stranger and what does he want of her?

Reddix is a Touch Kindred with an inverted Touch Sense—he can’t touch with his mind like others of his kind. Instead, he is doomed to endure their emotions like a physical invasion every time he’s around anyone. Desperation drives him to kidnap Nina—the girl he has been dreaming of. But he doesn’t take her out of love but as a sacrifice to one who claims she can cure his affliction.

Snatching Nina from her job, Reddix takes her on a journey to the stars that ends in disaster. Now, marooned on a strange planet they will have to learn to work together in order to survive. Can Nina forgive Reddix’s attack and gain his trust enough to heal him…or will his fate remain forever Shadowed?

Review:

I was a little reluctant and worried about reading book eight without having read the previous seven books.  The author even stated at the beginning that the reader would be lost.  However, Evangeline Anderson does such a great job of drawing you into the story that I really didn’t feel lost.  I felt like I was viewing a situation that had a past, but the author’s descriptions and explanations had me captivated and up to date for this story.  There was also a glossary of terms at the end of the story for anything that needed clarification.  If anything the other characters and story lines made me want to read the previous books.  I’m sure that followers of the Kindred will enjoy revisiting some of their favorite characters in this tale.

Shadowed really sucked me in from the beginning.  The action and drama didn’t let up.  This is an erotic science fiction/fantasy romance story.  Shadowed has a little of everything.  Most importantly is the plot line that continues to move forward with some twists and turns that keep the reader entranced.  It is very hard to put down because you just want to know what is going to happen next.

Loved the world building and science fiction/fantasy aspects of the story.  It was very creative and imaginative.  Being able to connect to the worlds through wonderful descriptions added an element of realism that made me, as a reader, care about these characters even more.

Reddix and Nina are wonderful characters and they have great chemistry together.  Incredible sensual and sexual scenes play out between the two.  The couple’s relationship starts out innocent and stormy and soon moves to hot and steamy.  I enjoyed the progression of both their relationship and their sexual encounters.  Both Nina and Reddix try so hard to guard their hearts from further pain, but they can’t stop their feelings for one another.

I would recommend this book and look forward to future installments in the Kindred series.

Blurb/Summary:

Luna Watkins can’t remember feeling so stressed. Her teenage son Nick’s health issues are reemerging and her ex Ben wants to help but is just making ends meet with odd jobs. Her catering business is thriving but too hectic for her to handle, at least that’s what it feels like. Not to mention since she’s been divorced, she hasn’t dated much and has had sex even less. When Nick decides to visit his grandparents for the summer, Luna is devastated. And yet, she sees a chance to work through her anger and her angst. Maybe some time to feed her body, mind and soul knowing he’s well taken care of.

Enter Adam Singleton, her new, last minute server. Handsome, gruff Adam who’s working through his own anger.  Flirting turns to sparring. Sparring turns to angry sex—like therapy but naked. As time goes by and Luna and Adam become even more entangled, with their hardships and each other, the question becomes, does angry sex turn to more anger…or peace?

Warnings: This title contains sex while angry, consensual bdsm, explicit content, a handsome man with rapier wit.

Review:

In the beginning, I wanted to hate this story.  The title almost turned me away, but then as I began to get to know Luna a bit more and understand how helpless she felt with her son’s disease, I realized where the crux of her anger came from and that she needed an outlet to feel a sense of normalcy return to her 24/7 hectic life.

Adam is the perfect ying to her yang as he is going through a similar life changing event himself.  As a man he struggles to control his emotions while he is taking care of those who mean the most to him. Together they collide in a flurry of hot, mesmerizing dirty sex with BDSM aspects and kinky spanking.  Luna submits beautifully to this engaging man who needs to find peace while his world is continually crumbling.

Soon the feelings turn to more than just fucking and both sides must decide if they feel more.  With a set of nosey family members it’s no secret who they are cheering for.  Maybe if Luna chooses to let go a bit and enjoy the love of a good man, she will see that obsessing over what cannot be changed can free her from the chains she’s wrapped around herself.  Maybe if Adam can openly trust one woman he’ll realize he also doesn’t have to go through his situation alone.  It takes one smart teen to voice the solution.  Hopefully they will cede to how they feel and have a happily ever after.

Blurb/Summary:

Amaranta Costa uses her Kanima as an avoidance tactic, until the one person she cherishes most is taken from her. When Gavin Ford enters the fray uninvited, she’s forced to accept the help of his pack to find her mate. Trusting others isn’t her forte. Though her inner jaguar accepts him hands down, the woman in her fights his dominating, take-control nature. Unlike Marisol’s soft personality, Gavin’s wolf challenges her at every turn. She can find no escape. His abrasiveness both sets her on edge and pleases her. She finds being in Marisol’s arms isn’t enough; the all-consuming need to be his burns to her core. There’s no denying the chemical attraction arcing among the three of them. Will she reach out, and accept the love and support waiting for her?.

Review:

Amaranta is a jaguar spirit-shifter that is responsible for assassinating serial killers of the human or shifter variety.  Her brothers are jealous of her talent and don’t understand the pressure and stress; her mother is horrid in every way, and her father only supports her if she’s doing what he wants.

Marisol is Amaranta’s safe haven and support system.  Mari is Amara’s lover, mate, and human.  They have been in a relationship for the last three years.  Now the love they share together is being challenged by outside forces.  Being human, Mari is more willing to go with the flow, but Amara is a shifter and likes to have control over her world.  It makes for some interesting dynamics.

Gavin is a wolf shifter and is in love with both Mari and Amara.  He has known that he belongs to Amara and Mari since he first laid eyes on them.  Now all he has to do is convince them.  Therein lays his challenge.

When Mari is taken by a deranged man, Gavin steps in to help and ends up taking control over the situation, as much as Amara will allow.  Amara doesn’t trust Gavin, but Mari hands over her heart without reservation.  Gavin and Amara set off some fireworks while they come to understand one another.

I loved the fierce protectiveness between the three as well as their playful and teasing nature.  Their personalities complemented one another and they worked well as a trio.  The love scenes between one another and as a mĂ©nage were erotic and stimulated the imagination.

The secondary characters in both Amara’s family and Gavin’s pack helped to support the plot and added some humor.  Gavin’s pack members were interesting and written in a way that the reader wants to know more about their lives.

Ms. Levey takes a unique spin with this shifter story.  The usual standards of species sticking to their own and shunning humans were smashed in Satin and Steel.  There are other stories that have dealt with these issues, but Ms. Levey takes them all on in one story and adds some little surprises for the reader.

The cover art is gorgeous and the story is captivating.  If you like shifter stories then give this one a try.

Blurb/Summary:
[Boys Of Summer]

Lifeguard/artist Gavin White has been holding the ripped shreds of his life together by the seams. Facing the anniversary of his sister's death, he fights the dark call of dependency and is at the edge of succumbing when his best friend since preschool returns to his life. Handsome geek-turned-hunk, Erik Clarke wasn't afraid to come out and had been bold enough to kiss Gavin the last time they were together. Damn that kiss. Gavin wants more. So much more, but he was never brave enough to tell Erik his dreams. With his future hanging by a tattered thread, Gavin must trade one temptation for another or risk ripping his life apart.

Review:

Ripped by Mia Downing is one heavy heart felt read.  I was led into the lives of childhood best friend’s who’d lived through the ups and downs together.  Not just any normal up and downs of everyday life, but a tragic event that began a path of spiraling self-destruction for Gavin.  Erik with his selfless ways ignores his wants, needs and desires to help the one man he’s loved his entire life find the power to heal and move forward from the devastation for which he holds himself responsible.

Kink is introduced to a man who isn’t into the lifestyle but will enter if it means giving the man peace.  The journey of friendship to love is ripe in this story.  My heart broke for Gavin and Erik as they navigated a rocky path to self-discovery and healing. To finding love and self-worth.

I’d recommend this book to a friend as well as a few tissues to wipe away tears during this endearing read.

Tagline:  Lovers torn apart by duty…will Angelo and Lena be reunited?

Blurb/Summary:

Mankind is close to extinction. Toxins have all but wiped out the male population. The remaining fertile men are housed in manors where their seed is collected. Lena Lee is a new collector with a rare pheromone believed to reignite human fertility. She's assigned a male who's predicted to be her perfect match. Angelo, a clockwork butterfly maker, is held captive, his essence harvested daily by Lena. Over time, the couple begins to fall in love, something which is strictly prohibited. When their forbidden love is discovered, Lena is banished from the manor. Torn apart by the duty that brought them together, Lena and Angelo must find a way back to each other. But even if Angelo manages to escape, he doesn't know where to find Lena. Will following the path of the clockwork butterfly lead him to his true love?

Content Warning: strong language, BDSM, and graphic sexual content, including m/f, f/f, and f/f/m sexual interaction

Review:

Lena begins as a naive girl, ignorant to the ways of the world around her.  Socially and sexually awkward, she enters her role as a collector with bitterness towards the enormous responsibility before her.  Mae is cunning and sensual, the perfect balance to Lena’s naivetĂ©.  Taking Lena under her wing to teach her quickly becomes more than her job, as their relationship blossoms.  Lena is just another assignment, right?  Mae has others with whom she’s assigned to “teach” and Lena is a collector now and her duty is to Angelo.  Feelings are forbidden, but can they be restrained?

Angelo, one of the last men on the planet, a prisoner in a lush cell. Angelo is Lena’s perfect match, chemically.  Together their essences are the key to the repopulation of the male species.  Their encounters are brief and purposeful, but the attraction between them is undeniable and soon they discover they are perfect for each other more than chemically.  They put everything on the line, including the repopulation of the earth, to be together but when Lena is sent away will all hope for happiness be lost to all three of them?

Sexy.  Erotic.  Emotional.  A Clockwork Butterfly by Tabitha Rayne is a creative tale of a future where men are nearly extinct.  Crisp and descriptive, Tabitha has made it easy for the reader to become immersed in the world she has created while the explicit sexual interactions paired with the author’s ability to convey the passion shared by the characters keeps the reader engaged.  The gravity of the situation (the extinction of the human race as well as the eventual rescue of Lena) could have been more developed creating a more intense feeling of urgency.  The open ended conclusion definitely leaves the reader to wonder where this threesome is headed next and wanting more of the sexy trio.

Blurb/Summary:

Lawyer Megan Connors wants a man, one that will wine her, dine her, and help her to forget the pain of a date rape she experienced as a teen. Her boss, Adam Wentworth, is just the man--tall, dark-haired, blue-eyed, and a confirmed player. He's perfect for a weekend of non-committal sex that will entice her inner woman out to play for good. So Megan devises a plan for seduction, one that will lure Adam into her arms.

Adam has been attracted to Megan since day one, but his preference for dominance and her fragile air kept him at bay. Megan's kiss under forgotten mistletoe is just the fuel his lust needs to exceed the boundaries she once put in place. He's game, but he wants more than a weekend with the vulnerable yet sexy Megan.

When the weekend is over, will Megan allow the past to keep her bound or can Adam convince her she's strong enough to submit?

Review:

Megan Connors is scheming to get the guy of her fantasies, and she is willing to act the part of whatever he wants to get him into her as soon as possible.  But what happens when the player you thought you were seducing turns out to be the Dom who wants more than just your body, he wants your heart as well?  Can Megan get beyond her burning secrets to get the guy who has owned her from the beginning or will her past be too much to overcome for these two budding lovers?

Adam Wentworth has wanted Megan since the first day he saw her walking down the hall.  Having suffered the worst tragedy of his life a mere two years ago guarding his heart has been priority one, but with Megan all the rules are being thrown out the window.  When a searing kiss and a dare brings these two together, fireworks explode the more they come together, and Adam is finding it harder and harder to walk away from her each day.  But can he help her work past her fears or will he have to put it all on the line and hope that she feels the same way as him?  Will making the ultimate sacrifice be worth the risk of heartache in the end?

This was a great story, not only was the sex amazingly hot, but the characters were real and easy to love.  The story of Megan and Adam was one filled with real emotions and mixed signals from the first page.  The horrible pasts of these two characters made them come to life on the page, and with that the story flowed so well that it ended far too quickly.  I haven’t read too many books by Mia Downing, but this one was grade A-mazing and it is a definite reread for me.  If you are looking for a great love story with some naughty good times in the sack thrown in for good measure than this is the book for you!

Blurb/Summary:
City girl Candy Merrill can't see herself falling for a country bumpkin. But her best friend’s cousin, Levi Bishop is hard to resist in his tight jeans and country charm. This has to be lust at first sight…because it couldn’t possibly be love.

It’s been a long time since Levi has kissed a woman as sweet as candy. And this Candy is looking for a guy who can kiss her socks off. Levi's never been afraid of a challenge. But after one kiss, he's hooked on sweets. Now he’ll just need to get Candy to see past their differences and show her she needs him for more than kisses.

Review:
Opposites can attract.  They can fall in love.  They can easily get past the lust and needing something physical to actually maintain a relationship.  Sure, it's possible.  Is it a long road of compromises and soul searching?  Absolutely.
Candy and Levi are as different as night and day.  Neither one is sure about the other, but after being pushed together on a blind date, they had to give it a whirl. Yes, the sparks are there, but the hesitance (at least in Candy's case) is there when it comes to thinking in the long term.  She loves the city, and Levi....well, doesn't.
Candy's Kisses is fun, erotic, and all around a great read.  The beginning didn't hold much attention for me, but after a few chapters, I was able to get more emotionally invested in the book.  I wanted to see where this would go.  The cover and title really grabbed me and after all was said and done, I'm glad I picked up the story to read.
If you like a story with opposites as the hero and heroine and enjoy erotic romances, then don't think twice about getting some of Candy's Kisses.

Tagline: When her first mating heat hits, only one man can appease the ache.

Blurb/Summary:

Fearful of how she’ll react during her first mating heat, Riley Bane flees toward a sanctuary, hoping to arrive before her fever hits. But she’s caught in an animal trap set by hunter Shaw Griffin, and her fever begins, consuming her with lust. Determined to wipe out the entire shape shifting race after a wolf pack murdered his family, Shaw snares his first shifter, only to capture Riley begging him to fulfill every wicked desire pounding through her. As things turn hot and heavy, the scent of their mating attracts nearby shifters and soon brings Shaw’s monstrous past to their doorstep.

Review:

The prologue of this book sets the tone for an adventure packed erotic thriller. The graphic and descriptive narrative of a family being attacked by a pack of shifters under the influence of “blood lust” is not for the faint of heart.

The book, itself, begins with the main character and shifter, Riley, being caught by shape-shifter hunter, Shaw. Their instant chemistry and sexual attraction is written so well, it’s nearly palpable. Where the development of the individual characters falls short, carnal eroticism fills in the gaps. One begins to wonder how the prologue will tie into the story, nearly getting lost in all the sexual encounters between this female shifter in heat and her human mate, but when Shaw is alerted that another trap has gone off, the reader is whisked back into action as past and present transgressions collide.

Though Caught in Heat is an engaging read, I hungered for more plot, and as referenced above character development, leading up to the climax of the story. That being said, I would recommend this story to anyone who is looking for a quick read full of sexual heat.
