Blurb/Summary:

Stevie and Win here, back in the mystery solving saddle again!

Cary Donahue, owns Pretty Fly for a Fry Guy, a new place in Eb Falls, where all manner of the most decadent crispy French fry combinations this side of the planet are made. Imagine tender brisket, smoked and sliced to perfection on a bed of cheesy fries, topped with tangy barbecue sauce.

To say I’d found my new home away from home is an understatement, much to the dismay of Win and my cholesterol. But when Cary is quite suddenly unalived, all of Eb Falls is in shock.

Who would harm the man who served bits of fried, starchy Heaven with a smile and a kind word?

Of course, Cary appears to us from the afterlife, looking for our help to solve his murder, but in a strange turn of events and quite suddenly,
I can hear him and Win can see him. Taken aback by this new twist in our ghostly communications, we’re even more surprised to find Cary isn’t communicating in choppy sentences and vague appearances the way most entities we deal with do. He's clear as a bell, so solving his murder should be a piece of cake, right? Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy.

But there’s just one small problem, Cary isn’t in possession of the entirety of his memories—as in, almost any of his past or much of what he remembers weeks before he was murdered.

Figures, right? But we jump in feet first anyway, and as we peel back the layers of Cary’s life, we discover far more than we bargained for.

A hidden past, tawdry secrets, lies, powerful people in high places, and more murder than you can shake a stick at!

Review:

Fabulous trip back into Eb Falls for another delightful story. Dakota Cassidy keeps it interesting by changing up Win and Stevie’s ghostly abilities. If this becomes an ever-changing dynamic, it will keep the stories fresh and engaging on another level.

This installment had everything a reader has come to expect from this series: witty dialogue, crazy ideas implemented, fun interpersonal relationships between the main characters, small town gossip, and even some ghost gossip. This story had a great plot, surprising plot twists, and was a page-turner.

The Case Of The Phantom Spy And The Haunted French Fry was a wonderful tale. Not including the ghostly and magical activity, this plot seems entirely plausible in real life. The paranormal aspect lent to and brought about the actual consequences for the criminals. I think the consequences were the part that seemed more fictional than the rest! Terrific addition to the Witched and Hitched Mysteries series

Blurb/Summary:

***Note about this book***

Witched and Hitched in Seattle is a spinoff of Witchless in Seattle Mysteries. Though all of the characters remain the same, their relationships have grown and evolved, dictating the beginning of a new series.

It takes two to solve a murder right!

Stevie here and it’s my fortieth birthday. Woo-hoo!

Win’s prepared a low-key evening for me (see no acrobats and jugglers) at one of my new favorite places and new business in Eb Falls--Trish the Dish Pottery!

You read that right,
pottery. There’s nothing like getting my hands covered (my clothes, too) in wet clay as I work the wheel. It’s my latest passion, and while I stink at it (I really do), I love it and my goal to make a canister to house my beloved Twinkies was well on its way.

Win prepared an evening of pottery and friends for my birthday and it was beautiful. Except for one small thing, Trish Lemmon, owner and all ‘round amazing pottery teacher, ends up dead.

It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to—and I do, but once I dry my tears, I’m determined to find out who killed Trish. Yet, as we unravel Trish’s personal life, her past, we find deep, dark secrets she worked hard to keep buried and hidden—forever.

Things go from bad to worse as we stumble on secret after secret while we try to catch a killer. Join me and the gang for yet another adventure filled with magic, mayhem and mystery!

Review:

Stevie and Win keep evolving in their marriage and sleuthing relationship. In book two of Witched and Hitched in Seattle, readers are treated to a more confident Stevie. She is using and controlling her magic more and mixing it into the investigation. Gone are the days of her being a scared novice in investigations.

We also get a glimpse of how incredible Win must have been as a spy. This investigation had more physical violence that involved him. Win’s abilities keep revealing themselves with each new obstacle.

The Case Of Trish The Dish And The Birthday Wish jumped right into the action and didn’t stop. It was entertaining to see Officer Dana rolling with the punches! This was a great page-turner with a solid plot and fun characters. Book two was highly entertaining and a wonderful addition to the series.

Blurb/Summary:

Evanora Dark here, an unalived specialist, live from "Bitten Off More Than I Can Chew-ville!”

It’s not enough that I talk to ghosts, but it looks like demons don’t mind my company either. A demon so sexy, so mesmerizing, who smells like paradise, I literally have to remind myself he’s a total jerk and that he’s trying to steal my sweet ghost’s soul.

You didn’t read that wrong. Allow me to explain. Kai Pettigrew is a twenty-something TikTok star with millions of followers. He’s dedicated his young life to serving his community by helping the homeless with Kickstarter funds and drumming up donations to get the less fortunate back on their feet.

While helping film an overnight ghost-hunt in one of the spookiest places in the country called Bridgewater Triangle with his best friend, an equally famous TikTok star, sweet, generous Kai allegedly takes his life by jumping from a ledge, leaving nothing behind but a short note.

But Kai informs me that’s not true at all. Yet, he can’t remember what really happened that fateful night, leaving me scratching my head. If Kai’s not responsible —then it has to be murder, right? But he was with his best friends in the world while filming. Surely, they wouldn’t hurt him, would they?

That leaves me with more questions than ever before. Now, add in a too-sexy-for-primetime demon who wants to snatch Kai’s soul, casts a diabolical spell on my libido, and not-so-subtly threatens my family and friends if I try and prevent it, and I’ve got big trouble. My Aunt Tuppence casts her own spell of protection to keep my family, Cary, and BFF Fab safe, but she warns me to stay away from them until I solve the case which leaves me on my own to investigate.

Alone.
 Outmatched. Terrified.

But I’ve got the determination of a thousand witches and the heart of a thousand more. Will it be enough to catch a killer while saving a giving, sweet boy from the bowels of Hell?

Review:

I found Exit Stage Death to be darker and spookier than the previous two books in the series, which was perfect to read in October. The added demon pushed the evil factor to eleven.

Kai Pettigrew, the deceased, is endearing and loving. He makes you want everything to turn out okay. The hope and inspiration that his character portrays balances out the evil that the demon brings to this story.

Evanora, with help from her aunt, is determined to uncover Kai’s cause of death. Evanora had to cut herself off from her friends and family to protect them and that loneliness she felt had a somber effect on the story. As Kai would look for the positive, I will say that everyone would benefit, at some point, from the spell that Aunt Tuppence cast on Evanora.

Exit Stage Death had me guessing until the very end with a plot twist that I didn’t expect. The wrap up in the epilogue had me in tears. This story has the potential for you to experience all your emotions. Bewitching Midlife Crisis Mysteries series has taken a turn, and we are in for a wild ride.

Blurb/Summary:

Hello again! It’s me, Evanora Dark, Buttermilk Bay’s newest sage of house staging and recently discovered unalived whisperer (that’s ghost-talker to you lay folk).

Business is booming, a certain silver-fox contractor named Cary Mann is hot in pursuit (wink-wink), and me and my bestie Fab are as tight as ever. Life is good—newly inherited boggart-in-a-crystal ball aside (don’t ask; he’s a handful. And libidinous. And it’s more of a snow globe than a crystal ball…)

Good, that is, until the next ghost shows up with an untimely demise to solve. Turns out, she’s a blast from my past…a painful one at that, one I could have gone the rest of my life without ever seeing again. My loved ones—both living and dead—all have my back though, ready to throw down with this particularly pesky poltergeist.

But my gift for helping the unalived comes with certain responsibilities. I’ll help this ghost solve the mystery behind her death and see her to the light. Even if, years ago, I would’ve liked to have bumped her off myself. After all…isn’t that how most of us feel toward the person who helped blow up their marriage?

Yep. I’m tasked with helping the very woman who ruined my marriage. But the more I get to know her ghost, the more I realize things are never as cut-and-dried as they seem. Not life, not love, not relationships… And certainly not murder!

Review:

It takes wicked empathy to help the person that ruined your marriage. That said, if cheating is a trigger for you then read responsibly.

Evanora ends up helping Susan solve her mysterious disappearance. In doing so, Evanora gets to know Susan and understand her better. Susan is truly a product of her abusive childhood. Even though Susan is now a ghost her direct contact with Evanora has a profound impact on her. Susan eventually shows signs of emotional growth and empathy. Great character development.

The mystery is a tangled web that Evanora must unravel, but she finally has her date with Cary Mann while she’s hunting for clues. Evanora and Cary look like they are off to a good start. I hope their relationship gets to positively progress.

Bohemian Tragedy with all its twists and turns had a steady pace, solid plot, and was a tear-jerker. It was quite a heart-warming story.

Blurb/Summary:

If you want to know who unalived you, I'm your girl. Evanora Lavinia Dark at your service!

Heart attack/stroke/open-heart surgery survivor, new-lease-on-life starter, astral-projecting-ghost-talker.

And most importantly, a witch over fifty with bursitis, blood pressure meds, and zero effs to give.

I’m done with corporate life—or maybe it was done with me first— and after a life-changing stroke followed by a heart attack and a subsequent quadruple bypass. All this just before boarding a plane for my lifetime dream trip to Hawaii.

Clearly, it was time for a change.

So I moved back to my hometown and my passion. Interior design. I have no experience, no degrees in the field, but I jumped in with both feet and opened my own house staging business--Stage Right. Nowadays, you can find me happily decorating houses for my best friend, house flipper, and real estate agent, Fabiola Fabrizio.

Together, we’re determined to give our town, Buttermilk Bay, located in Massachusetts (not far from Salem) a facelift and bring in young families to stir up the economy. Little by little, people are beginning to take notice of my work and hiring me on the daily and that’s great for my bank account.

There’s only one problem. Ghosts. Sooo many ghosts. Ghosts I started to see after my bypass surgery (cliche, right?). Ghosts who were murdered and need my help to solve the mystery surrounding their deaths. Do you have any idea how hard it is to carry a fifty pound chandelier while a ghost is in your ear, hassling you to find their killer?

When a guy named Ferris Leopold is found dead at the house next door to the one I’m staging, it’s full steam ahead to solve his murder. Or is it? Ferris was a lowdown dirty, albeit petty thief in life and I’m struggling to set aside my morals in order to help him.

But as I dig deeper into Ferris’s past, meet a hot AF silver fox of a man, and explore my new powers in the process, I discover not everything is as it seems...

Review:

Stage Fright is a wonderfully engaging story from beginning to end. The characters are endearing and vibrant. Evanora Dark and Fabiola Fabrizio draw readers into their drama filled lives. Although this is book one in the Bewitching Midlife Crisis Mysteries series, I felt like I was meeting old friends.

Evanora is a witch that can see and talk with ghosts. With this power she has taken on the responsibility of helping the ghosts resolve issues so they can move on. Stage Fright involves a murder wrapped in a mystery with plenty of action.

This story had a great plot, interesting cast of characters, good backstories, wonderful family support, and the mystery is solved without a cliff-hanger. Dakota Cassidy does offer a little something at the end to keep readers coming back for more.

Stage Fright is a fantastic way to start a new series. Highly recommend.

Blurb/Summary:

Hello, it’s me, intrepid amateur sleuth, Stevie Cartwright back in the saddle again!

An intrepid amateur sleuth who’s being hunted.

Yep. This time I’m the case that needs solving. My most recent past has come back to haunt me. What I mean by that is, almost every single criminal dead or alive that we’ve captured or we've had a hand in doling out their fate, have been stalking me via the ghost of my very first case.

Sal Finch.

Remember him? Win’s vengeful cousin, angry and bitter when he lost all of Win’s inheritance to me and tried to kill me, has somehow figured out how to read people on this plane and get them to do his bidding.

So far, I’ve been the recipient of a black eye, I’ve been shot at, and someone tried to blow me up! So how do I, mostly a mere mortal, fight off someone from the afterlife still holding a big, fat grudge?

I call my sister Halliday Valentine to help me fight off the forces of evil, of course! A full-time witch who has visions, and part time sleuth just like me. But the afterlife sure has drastically changed since I lost my powers, and everyone around me becomes suspect as Sal whispers suggestively in the ears of criminals who would like nothing better than to see me kaput.

So when things get so bad, my sister Hal has a vision of me, a mere dead husk of a body, my soul evaporated for eternity, we know we have to take action and call Sal out with the mother of all spells. But with the afterlife in such an uproar, and the delicate timing of the spell, will we get this monkey off my back, or leave the world turned upside down?

Review:

Complete action-packed page-turner that delivers an awesome story thirteen books in the making. I loved that Stevie’s sister Halliday and her familiar Atticus were along for the ride.

A Total Witch Show brings tons of past cases to the forefront while trying to solve the current mystery. Though things look bleak, Stevie is surrounded by love and hopeful, helpful friends.

This story is a not to be missed book in the Witchless in Seattle Mysteries series, but they do need to be read in order. You’ll want to meet all the characters that pop up in this book ahead of time!

Highly recommend!

Welcome to Marshmallow Hollow, Maine, a holiday mystery, where it's all Christmas all the time and murder is hung by the chimney with care...

Hellooo! I'm at it again, and only a day after my last run-in with a killer!

Hobbs and I are growing closer and closer, but there always seems to be a mystery waiting for us just around the corner, nipping at our heels and thwarting our hot romance.

A very nice waiter named Joey Scarpetti, from the Marshmallow Hollow Ski Lodge is dead, and it happened in my backyard in my pear tree, no less. So what’s a girl to do but investigate?

On top of that, I catch Hobbs having coffee with a very stylish, flawlessly beautiful, natural blonde (hair envy here!), and I’m in a bit of a tizzy.

But when I have a gruesome vision of a young woman, so grief-stricken she wants to leave this plane forever, I know I have to find out if my vision is from a future event and if so, is there a way I can prevent a horrible tragedy?

All bets are off the table as I hunt for a killer and try and save a young woman’s life!

Review:

Carnage in a Pear Tree picks up right where One Corpse Open Slay ended. It was fun to be back in Marshmallow Hollow with such great characters. Halliday’s secret gets explored more by Hobbs and he has a lot to take in throughout the book. Readers are in for a treat as Hobbs has his own secret to reveal.

This story has a great plot and covers a hard-hitting topic. The pace and twists will keep you turning the pages. Carnage in a Pear Tree lets us enjoy some more of the townies and everyday life in Marshmallow Hollow. As always with this series, the main mystery is wrapped up by the end of the book so there are no cliff-hangers.

I think this book is pivotal to the series as the secrets revealed may shape their future together. Don’t miss out, read it now!

Until we open up Madam Zoltar's for the beginning of tourist season and the first customers are a bridal party from the seventh level of you-know-where!

When the soon-to-be ex-husband of the matron of honor is found dead at the motel where the bridal party is staying and she's accused of his murder--a murder we're convinced she didn't commit--our quiet comes to a screeching halt.

Add in the matron of honors dead twin, who appears to be desperately trying to get some kind of message to us, Belfry who's behaving strangely, and more poofy pink dresses than you can count, and you've got yourself a mystery.

A mystery we're determined to solve! The gang's all here. Join us for another romp in Witchless in Seattle, won't you?

Review:

Great to see Stevie and Win in action together with their sidekicks Arkady and Belfry. Where There’s a Witch, There’s a Way is an interesting murder mystery with lots of action, both normal and paranormal. I think one of the characters was channeling her inner “Nina” (from the Accidental Series) the whole book. The murder mystery is well done and all wrapped up for us by the end of the book.

Dana has become more involved with Win and there are some intriguing side effects of their relationship. As a reader, I hope that they all get to work on a case together in the future.

It was nice to see Stevie and Win’s relationship progressing with more teasing about wedding plans and some dates sprinkled into the story.

This was a fun book and a great addition to the series.

Welcome to Marshmallow Hollow, Maine, a holiday mystery, where it's all Christmas all the time and murder is hung by the chimney with care...

Halliday Valentine here! It’s a week before Christmas, and my quaint holiday town, Marshmallow Hollow, is chock-a-block with seasonal activities. Some less fun than others…like the ice sculpting competition my bestie, Stiles, has talked me into. Let’s just say, as a pair, Michelangelo we ain’t. I’m secretly relieved when our epically awful ice display gets damaged. It gives me a chance to watch my new beau, Hobbs, compete in the sled race.

But not five seconds in, and Hobbs’s sled-loving dog, Stephen King, escapes my grip to get in on the action—and boy, does he. He even manages to find himself a sled to ride. Too bad it’s already occupied. With the corpse of a renowned ice sculpting judge.

True-crime lovers that we are, Hobbs and I jump right into the investigation. It’s not nosiness, I swear. A little kitten’s fate is on the line, after all (long story)!

Only problem? A bajillion suspects. The victim was nothing if not an equal-opportunity jerk, universally hated by everyone he’d ever met. And every suspect has an air-tight alibi. Not to mention, the murder weapon is a giant mystery the police can’t solve.

All this sleuthing would be a heck of a lot easier if I could just use my magic. But can I trust Hobbs with that reveal? Or more accurately, is he ready for that reveal?

Review:

One Corpse Open Slay has a full cast of secondary characters that keep the story moving and readers guessing. We of course get to spend lots of time with Halliday and Hobbs as they work through the suspects trying to find the killer. As they interview suspects, we get to learn more about the people of Marshmallow Hollow, which is a magical little town.

Get ready for an interesting mystery and reveals from more than one character. If you are looking for a fun holiday cozy mystery series, then I highly recommend the Marshmallow Hollow Mysteries.

Welcome to Marshmallow Hollow, Maine, a holiday mystery, where it's all Christmas all the time and murder is hung by the chimney with care...

I'm Halliday Valentine (yep; funny name is funny), a psychic witch who's recently moved from New York City back to my very human hometown of Marshmallow Hollow, where I run the family factory that caters to all things Christmas. I inherited the factory from Mom, who inherited from Nana Karen, but now it's just me (kinda...long story), my curmudgeonly British familiar hummingbird, Atticus; one ungrateful rescue cat; my talking reindeer, Karen; and my BFF Stiles (the only human aware of my witchy side).

Oh, and Digby Dainty (known as Hobbs), the tall drink of water who rents my guest cottage. And who I wouldn't mind getting to know better. We have a lot in common, including a love of true crime. So as macabre as it sounds, when a shady real estate tycoon shows up dead in the middle of the annual ice festival, I'm thrilled to spend time with Hobbs, flexing our amateur sleuthing skills.

Well...not thrilled. I mean, a guy's dead after all. But he did try to con some businesses right out from under the hard-working locals. In fact, the only thing more surprising than a murder in our charming Christmas town is how many of my friendly, beloved neighbors seemed to want the man dead...

Review:

If you love a good Hallmark movie then you are going to love Jingle all the Slay. It’s like a Christmas Hallmark movie and a cozy mystery all in one except Halliday Valentine is a witch so you get real magic and the holiday spirit. You can smell the fires burning and see the twinkly lights lighting up the small town. Dakota Cassidy brings it all to life in the first installment of the Marshmallow Hollow Mysteries series. Make sure you have your hot chocolate with marshmallows ready when you dive into this story!

If you are a fan of Dakota Cassidy, then you already know she loves her quirky characters and she doesn’t disappoint in Jingle all the Slay. There are plenty of fun characters for readers to enjoy and escape with. This book was a wonderful beginning to a new series and the mystery is wrapped up by the end of the book. I look forward to seeing what adventures await Halliday, Hobbs, and Stiles.

Blurb/Summary:

Stevie here, reporting to you live from Ebenezer Falls, WA with my disaster of a day.

Yes, that’s right. I’m having a terrible day. The worst. It started off like any other day with the exception of Win’s strange behavior, that is. But it’s all gone downhill from there and I have questions.

So many questions…

For instance, why is everyone else in Eb Falls behaving as strangely as my International Man of Mystery? And who the heck is Donna? For that matter, who’s Candy Cane and why does she have snow? Who’s the blonde picking up Win in our driveway? And was that an Aston Martin I just saw drive by?

What the heck is going on?

I set out to have a perfectly nice day after a long summer filled with tourists and readings at Madame Zoltar’s shop. Since we'd had so little time to spend together these last few weeks, I was feeling a little left behind while Win was off on a guy’s day of his own, but a much-needed spa-day should have cured that.

Or at least I thought it would.

That was before everything turned upside down, Win became almost unreachable by phone or text, and the words blackmail, drugs, and extortion were bandied about…

Review:

Gettin’ Witched is a not to be missed novella in the Witchless in Seattle Mysteries Series. Fans will be thrilled for this little adventure. All the main characters come out to play in this story. It is a short story, but pivotal to the ongoing story line.

I won’t ruin any of the plot for you in this review. I will say Stevie is up to her usually antics and takes it up a notch with her paranoia in Gettin’ Witched. It’s a sweet story. Go read it!
