Review:

Touched By The Magic was a lighthearted, fun read.  A wonderful blend of the erotic and humour tied together with leather bands of fantasy.  And yes, it touches on bondage but manages to turn it on its head to where you want to laugh at the circumstances that Briar and Uthiel find themselves in.  I managed to read through the entire book in two evenings, reading way past the time that I should have turned in.

Briar, has a secret, in a world where most much younger than her have received training in the arts of love, she is without an education.  Worse yet she has lied on a school application for a job that requires said training.  Uthiel also, has his issues.  He is a paladin, sworn to protect dragons, which he is determined to kill due to previous heartache.  Together, they manage to botch almost every lesson the school of magic has to teach, while managing to save the world. 

And if that isn't amusing enough for you, throughout the book are cameos by a perverted, potty mouthed gnome who likes to steal woman's underwear for the blow up sex doll he carries with him almost everywhere.  If you are looking for some lighthearted fantasy, with hot sex scenes, this is the book for you!

Review:

Feral Fever is book three in a series. I had not read books one and two. While this book can be read as a standalone, and enjoyed, I am positive that it suffers somewhat from that. Read as a third book, I believe that I may have given it a higher rating. Much of the back story as to why Aisling Bjorn is a Marshall or even what a Marshall is, is missing in this story. Unlike many other books, there really isn't much of a re-hash on the back story to catch up anyone who had just happened to start with this book.

The story itself is excellent. It involves a matriarchal cast society with female domination over the males of their race. They are a humanoid race that have slightly furred faces and tiger stripes imbedded into their skin (tattoo like). The royal females, those with the palest markings, are queens and take up to fifty or more husbands if they wish. They are capable of having children for many years and often have 40 or more children themselves. Somehow most of these children turn out to be males, against all statistics. This produces many unattached warring males looking for mates. There is a sadness to this book.

Aisling is sent to this planet to become a royal queen as an ambassador from the Marshalls. She is forced to take a minimum of 7 husbands, one from each region, against her personal beliefs. With time she comes to embrace the five husbands who survive the warring planet. This story is not a ménage per se as she is only with one husband at a time, however different men may visit her in the same day. Each husband has his own baggage and traits so there is something for everyone in this story. Once you read past the opening story, this book is mostly about Aisling creating workable bonds with all of her husbands, so the heat level on this book is pretty high. If you are looking for a hot book, with multiple partners, all in one to one situations, this is the book that you should read.

Review:

Dark Haven by Mandy Monroe has intriguing characters that keep you interested and reading. Practical and logical, Scarlett really needed all three different men to help crack the shell around her heart so that she could start feeling.

Nico, Vincent, and Lazarus all have something unique to bring to the relationship and Scarlett in turn helps each of them. The men have all been on earth a while so they have seen a lot of evil and each has their own story. Scarlett is like a breath of fresh air long overdue.

The love scenes are steamy hot. This is a great paranormal/erotic romance story with a lot of imagination put into the characters and their backgrounds. It was a definite page turner that was hard to put down. I enjoyed the interaction between Scarlett and her three alpha males, as well as the interaction between the secondary characters and Scarlett. It wouldn’t be a great paranormal without some evil to overcome and Elizabeth couldn’t get too much worse if she tried.

I read the alternate version of the story that contained some male on male action and hinted at more. I think it was done very well and that the parameters of the relationship between the three men, before and after they met Scarlett, warranted a little male on male action to help understand how close they had all become over the centuries.

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun, sexy and had a good plot. I hope that Mandy Monroe will revisit these characters in the future.

Relationships 4 by Piers Anthony is a must read for anyone tired of the same perfect boy meets beautiful girl and they live happily ever after style romance tale. In Relationships 4, Piers explores the grittier side of sexual relations with couples who are not even close to perfect. Many of the tales are rather short and can be read easily in a sitting. While this collection is not for those looking for fairy tale romance, if what you’ve been missing is something grittier and perhaps truer to life, Piers’ stories may be just what you’ve been looking for.

Here you will find tales of an unattractive larger sized female prisoner and her unusually endowed prison guard. A young, untried male and four forty- something female friends on a week’s vacation tell their story. An unlikely pair with years between them, who share an unusual phobia, find ways to re-enter the world. Writers block is attacked from a new perspective and conception prevented in a novel manner. The stories are well written and sometimes thought provoking. Many of the characters allow the reader a glimpse inside of their heads.

This trip to the other side, as it were, is worth taking. While some of the tales are almost shocking, they throw a light into otherwise darkened corridors. Piers Anthony’s Relationships 4 is a wonderful read for anyone looking for something a bit “bad side of town.” If Cinderella is what is on your mind, this is the wrong place to be. However, if what you want is a bit nastier, something truly original, this might just be your perfect read.

Communion was a very different kind of story. It was written as if the author were viewing the scene and commenting on it. I was a little confused at first, because the reader is dropped into the middle of a sex scene that has already started. There is actually more background information in the blurb/summary than in the story itself. However, it didn’t take long to catch up with what was taking place.

As a reader, we get to witness the coming together of two friends, Tig and Justin, that are in love with one another but afraid to take the next step. Vincent, Patrick, and Colin help the couple transition into a sexual relationship and all that it entails. The five friends experience an explosive and steamy night together and we get to watch.

The scene is descriptive and well written. It’s hard not to be drawn in by the love that is displayed by these five friends.

All She Wants 4 Christmas was one fast paced erotic short story that centers on Monica and her fiancé Dane. One night she indulges in telling her most secret desire. I loved how Dane set up a playtime for her and was willing to explore sensual options. Monica may have been curious about trying things out but she didn’t back down later on in the story. Their encounter really made me melt.
