Blurb/Summary:

The mission was supposed to be simple. Infiltrate an enemy’s stronghold outside Rome and eliminate its leader. For a Breed warrior as lethal as Ettore Selvaggio, AKA “Savage”, stealth assassinations are only one of his many cold-hearted specialties. But the last thing Savage expects to find behind enemy lines—in his target’s bed—is a woman he once adored.

It’s been years since Savage last saw beautiful Arabella Genova. Years he’s strived to banish to his past, along with the fierce desire he once felt toward Bella . . . and the irresistible calling of her blood that stirs in him even now, despite the fact that she belongs to another male.

But when fate throws Savage and Bella together again in a race for their lives, will his long-lost love prove to be the one woman he can’t live without, or the perfect weapon to destroy him?

Review:

Midnight Untamed is a fabulous novella of the Midnight Breed series.  This book is a wonderful addition to the series.  It is an easy read as a standalone book and gives you a glimpse of the war going on in the main series, but doesn’t bog you down with too many details.

In this book we meet Arabella Genova and Ettore Selvaggio.  Readers will enjoy the background story around these two characters and the quick progression of their present and future romance.  I fell in love with these characters and hope that they will be entwined in the main series.

There are secondary characters that help Arabella and Ettore along in their journey.  At the end the author left it open for these characters to have their own story.  I hope that happens soon!

Midnight Untamed starts out with a bang and keeps on going.  The plot moves at an easy pace with some heart stopping moments along the way.  This is a great story to jump into if you wanted to sample Lara Adrian’s writing and get a feel for the Midnight Breed series

 Blurb/Summary:

It’s been a while since Nina Statleon—ex-coffin lover, current chicken wing lover—lost her vampire mojo during a particularly brutal OOPS case. Her friends Wanda and Marty are worried. Nina clearly hasn’t dealt with the emotional fallout caused by losing one’s immortality. She’s got issues. Big issues.

And it’s time to call in the Big Gun—Paranormal Psychologist January Malone. Her friends will get Nina to the therapist’s office, even if they have to lure her with last bag of Cheetos in Manhattan.

Of course, the girls couldn’t possibly know that Doctor Malone has an agenda. A forced agenda involving blackmail, which may just save one life…while ending another. It goes against everything January, a white witch, has ever believed in, personally and professionally.

But the alternative means putting her trust in a foul-mouthed ex-vampire, her werewolf and halfsie friends, a demon, a zombie, a bear and their assorted mates…

Yikes!

***Author Note: This is an Accidental Quickie and shorter in length than prior novels in the series.***

Review:

How Nina Got Her Fang Back is the thirteenth book in the Accidental Series.  It is a novella so expect a shorter book, but don’t worry it still packs a mighty punch.  Without giving away spoilers, How Nina Got Her Fang Back is a must read for all you die-hard Accidental Series followers.  Nina’s book will bridge the gap between the last full length and the next novel.  Things happen that you don’t want to miss out on knowing before the next book!

How Nina Got Her Fang Back will delight you with Nina’s very colorful use of the English language.  If you have delicate sensibilities when it comes to foul language then skip this book or suck it up for the fun story.

Even when the OOPS ladies set out to help one of their own, it’s never just about them.  They have a greater impact on their community in this edition.  Paranormal council politics play a role in the outcome of this HEA ending.  We never really had to deal with the Council in previous books.  This book takes a closer look at the politics and the players.  However, it’s not all about politics, we meet some new paranormals with problems and the OOPS girls swoop in to help.

I really enjoyed January Malone, her love interest, and the role that she played throughout this story.  The OOPS girls’ mates are on stage more in this book.  They’ve been on the back burner lately so it was good to see them again.

The plot is fast moving with engaging characters and plot twists that will have you glued to the pages until the end.  I highly recommend you read this story before the next Accidental book.

Blurb/Summary:

At the request of their friend Antonia (Accidentally Ever After), Wanda, Marty and Nina find themselves trekking up a snowy mountainside, in search of Toni’s brother. Wanted by the mob, Cormac Vitali is hiding out in the Colorado Wilderness, where the ladies from OOPS finally catch up to him…freshly tranq’d by a bounty hunter.

Bear shifter Teddy Gribanov realized Cormac was her life mate about five minutes after shooting his big muscly bod with her trusty dart gun. She’d be shocked by that revelation, if she wasn’t too busy getting stabbed, shot, and hunted down by a crooked cop and the Russian mob. Oh, and her psycho ex, freshly sprung from the pokey, and hell bent on making Teddy pay for putting him there.

Sometimes love finds you when you least expect it—and when it’s least convenient. Join Wanda, Marty and Nina, manservant Archibald, sweet zombie Carl, and demon Darnell as they hatch a plan to bring down everyone standing in the way of Teddy and Cormac’s accidental happily ever after.

Review:

Bearly Accidental picks up the story line from the end of Accidentally Ever After.  If you haven’t read that you won’t die or anything, but you will be missing out on the basis for this story.  The OOPS ladies, Nina, Marty, and Wanda promise Antonia from Accidentally Ever After that they will do their best to locate her brother.  Thus, we enter the story during the grueling search for Cormac Vitali.

Of course no mission is ever easy for the OOPS gals.  Turns out they are not the only ones hunting down Cormac.  Terry Gribanov is out bounty hunting and Cormac is her meal ticket.  That’s when it all goes wrong.  Meal ticket or not, Terry, can’t turn over her life mate.  Too many questions need to be answered while she keeps her over-protective brothers at bay and both the Russian mob and her ex from killing them.  Dakota Cassidy spins a web of mystery and intrigue that had this reader sticking to the pages.

Cormac Vitali and Teddy Gribanov are delightful characters with depth and passion.  Their romance is a slow burn that sizzles at the end.  I enjoyed getting to know these characters and think they make a wonderful addition to the Accidental family.

Bearly Accidental is full of the trademark snark that you can associate with Dakota Cassidy.  This book also had plenty of tongue-in-cheek ribbing regarding romance books that had me laughing.  The OOPS ladies don’t disappoint with their famous foul language and bickering.

Overall, Bearly Accidental is a wonderful story with plenty of plot and action to keep you on the edge of your seat.  Dakota Cassidy also included a lot of her Accidental character favorites and references to some of the extended family in this story.  There are no cliff hangers, but you will be left looking forward to the next book.

 Blurb/Summary:
An American Werewolf in Hoboken--

Wooing a life mate can be hard enough for a wolf, wooing one while under the threat of a curse even more so.

Wooing a mate while pretending to be her dog? Nearly impossible.

After being drugged and captured by Animal Control, Max Adams is on Hoboken's doggie death row when his life mate adopts him, takes him home, and promptly names him Fluffy. While JC, in all her new-pet-owner-ness, feeds "Fluffy" vile kibble, dresses him in mortifying dog couture, and schedules to have his manhood removed, Max's human side gets to know JC. Especially in the biblical sense.

Hopefully well enough to make her fall madly in love, mate with him under the full moon, and move with him to Cedar Glen to live happily ever after forever and ever amen. And fast.

Because the curse comes with a deadline...and the clock is ticking.

What’s New, Pussycat?--

Martine Brooks is in a pickle. Derrick Adams is in a jam.

Pickles and jam. Not exactly a hot combo. Unless the "pickle" is a sultry, sassy cat shifter and the "jam" is a gorgeous hunk of wolf.

Derrick is cursed to die if he doesn't make the woot-woot with his life mate on the night of the next full moon. Martine's been held captive by a power-hungry warlock for six long months, forced to do his bidding before finding herself stuffed in a cat carrier and ditched at a 7-Eleven.

After rescuing her from a Dumpster, Derrick and Martine strike a mutually beneficial deal: Mate, save a life, walk away—both alive and kicking. Win! Yet, there are kinks in the plan. Like the fact that Martine's one-time captor is on the hunt, planning to extinguish all of her nine lives at once. Or the fact the curse threatening Derrick's life is about to throw him a monster curve ball.

But the biggest kink might prove to be Derrick and Martine themselves, two avowed commitment-phoebes...who are beginning to wonder what forever looks like.

Gotta Have Faith—

Five years ago, Brock Adams disappeared from Cedar Glen, New Jersey, never to be seen or heard from again, leaving behind his wife Faith, his daughters…and two sons under a family curse.

Give up everything. That was the deal. Give up his werewolf pack, his family and his immortality, in exchange for finally, finally ridding his sons of the deadly curse. But when a disguised Brock sneaks back into Cedar Glen, he finds the curse still very much in effect. He also bumps into Faith, who he aches for just as much now as the day he left.

Coming back was a horrible idea. Winston, his foul-tempered fairy friend, told him so. But did Brock listen? Noooo. He’s listening to his heart and his libido, and both are begging for one more moment in Faith’s arms. So what if she doesn’t even know it’s really him? And one of his sons hates him? And he’ll have to leave again? And he has a vindictive witch on his trail…?

***Author Note: Dear readers, Please note, if you recognize these titles, these books, originally published in 2006, are a rerelease and have been updated, revised and expanded.

Review:

These books are awesome on their own, but it was so much more fun to read them in the box set one right after the other.  The three stories; An American Werewolf in Hoboken, What’s New, Pussycat?, and Gotta Have Faith are all interrelated and surrounding the Adams Family curse.  I promise not to give away too much, but basically the Adams men have to go on a journey to find their life mates.  The journey is always fraught with danger, the possibility of failure, and imminent death.  Never fear though, Dakota Cassidy’s characters laugh in the face of death and are forced to do all kinds of crazy things in the name of love.

The first story is about Max and JC.  Both strong and confident characters that will make you laugh.  In the second story we meet Derrick and Martine.  Both pig-headed and stubborn characters that have to learn to trust.  In the last story we get Faith and Brock’s tale.  Faith and Brock are Max and Derrick’s parents.  They are the epitome of loyalty.

Each story has a great plot with twists and turns.  Some plot twists are more like mini tornados that will leave your jaw on the floor.  Every couple has their hot, hot, hot moments some a little more scorching than others.

As a reader, I really liked how each story built upon the previous one while you learned more about all the characters and the Cedar Glen townsfolk.  There are some very colorful secondary characters that I would love to see get their own story someday.

These three stories did not disappoint.  Each had a thrilling part, sexy part, mystery/suspense part, and ended with a HEA part.  Now how they got to that HEA part I’m not going to expand upon because that is the meat of the stories and the journey you must take with these fun characters.  I highly recommend the Wolf Mates Box Set.

Blurb/Summary:

Vampire Liam McConnell was inches away from striking a deal with Angus Sweeten, the foulest, scariest, evilest demon in the land, who holds the key to the synthetic blood Liam’s clan so desperately needs. But that was before Sweeten became sweet on a certain ex-werewolf-turned-vamp. Now the demon wants the impossible. A trade Liam can’t live with…

The synthetic blood formula in exchange for Freya Ashe—Liam’s mate.

With Freya’s ex-pack members calling for her head, a sly she-wolf on the prowl with her own agenda, half his clan turned against him and a shifty demon’s sights set on his mate, Liam will have to rely on his Fangs of Anarchy brothers to help get him and Freya—and maybe a few others—through the chaos alive.

*Author note: Dear readers, this is part five of a five-part serial and not intended as a stand-alone read.

Review:

Justified – Part 5 is the conclusion to Fangs of Anarchy: Book 2 – Outlaw Alpha.  Justice is served up in this episode and readers get the HEA ending that followers of the series have been waiting on.

Episode four was a little slow with more relationship building than plot.  However, episode five makes up for it in spades.  Justified is non-stop action and plot resolution.  The answers to all the lingering questions are brought to light.  No spoilers here, read the story and enjoy the experience like I did.

Frey and Liam make a great vampire team.  Go team Freyum!  Dakota Cassidy’s sarcastic wit abounds throughout this final episode.  Freya became one of my favorite characters in the Fangs of Anarchy series because of her witty mouth.

If you are looking for a HEA vampire/werewolf romance series with humor and a great plot then be sure to check out the Fangs of Anarchy series.

Blurb/Summary:

How much trouble can one woman get into? Especially when her favorite past-time is quilting? Well, Freya Ashe is turning out to be an atypical ex-litigating ex-werewolf. There’s the newly turned vampire thing and the murder thing and the going-on-the-lam thing. Oh, and the sex thing with the hot-on-hot Liam McConnell, her new vampire mate.

And when a terrifying demon drops by and issues a few friendly death threats, Freya discovers just how clueless she’s become, how disconnected to everything and everyone around her. That’s was all those Law & Order marathons will get you. Seems her would-be werewolf mate, Courtland Dodd, is nice and tight with the demon Angus Sweeten. The very pile of nasty Liam has been trying to meet with. And he’s this close.

With intrigue around every corner and a slew of alleged misdeeds piled on Freya’s slender shoulders, she and Liam better be careful. If you make a deal with a devil like Angus, everyone might go up in flames.

*Author note: Dear readers, this is part four of approximately a five-part serial. You know what that means? That’s right—cliffhangers (cue evil music). But wait! Before you hate, I hear anticipation is good for your complexion, and even your hair. I don’t know if that’s true or just a rumor, but is it worth the risk? Nonetheless, I solemnly swear to keep the stories coming swiftly, so your heads don’t asp lode from waiting!

Review:

This episode of Fangs of Anarchy 2--Outlaw Alpha: The Ultimatum Part 4 picks up in the tavern with Liam being confronted by Cortland and Petra.  Meanwhile, in the woods, Freya is coming face to face with Angus the demon.

Right from the very first scene in this episode the reader just knows that Petra is going to cause all kinds of drama over being humiliated.  Petra is going to try with everything she is to bring someone down with her.

Liam is still playing Courtland and, as a reader, I am on pins and needles hoping his actions don’t come back to bite him in the butt.  Only time will tell and the next episode.

I was so proud of Freya!  She acted nothing like Claire from the previous Fangs of Anarchy book.  Freya didn’t wait around for someone to come and save her, she took action.  Freya is a wonderful heroine and strong female character.

During this episode things really heat up between Liam and Freya.  It becomes hot, hot, and then scorching hot.  There was a little bit of plot movement and a maneuvering of characters, but this episode was really more of a cementing of Liam and Freya’s relationship.  We also see the beginnings of what eternity means to each of them in regards to the other.

As always, Dakota leaves us hanging with a massive plot bomb waiting to explode.  Don’t miss this episode or you will be lost in the next one.

Blurb/Summary:

Firefighter McAllister "Mick" Malone knows he has a protective streak, especially when it comes to his deceased best friend's sister, Tessa. But after twenty-five years of verbal sparring, Mick can't help but notice that their recent arguments have started to feel a lot like foreplay. And while Tessa knows exactly what to say to get him going, Mick is thrown for a loop when he actually starts breathing fire.

Antique-store owner Tessa Preston has loved Mick Malone since she was ten years old—not that she'd ever admit it. Fighting with Mick is the only thing keeping her from an embarrassing romantic confession. But when the sexy firefighter accidentally ingests some ancient dragon scales masquerading as powdered aspirin, Tessa finds herself handling something much hotter than long-simmering sexual tension.

Review:

First, if you are not familiar with the Accidental Series please take note that The Accidental Dragon is Book 9 of the series.  As a reader that likes reading series in order that is what I would suggest, but I know that some people don’t mind reading out of order.  You can read this out of order just be prepared for spoilers from the other books.

Second, run don’t walk to the nearest bookstore and snag your copy as soon as it comes out.  If you are a kindle person then one-click away.  This book was so much more than I expected!

I dare you not to fall in love with these newest additions to the Accidental family.  McAllister (Mick) Malone and Tessa Preston are incredible and handle all the “crazy” with a healthy dose of humor.  Both the hero and heroine are centered and strong, just struggling to make it on their own, each with their own set of heavy baggage.  Mick has been in love with Tessa since they were kids.  Tessa has been in love with Mick since she was a child.  However, they don’t do normal and just talk.  They fight like cats and dogs and now they fight like dragons!

The Accidental Dragon is almost a family reunion of sorts because they have to call on so many different friends to help solve the Dragon mystery.  It has an awesome plot complete with wonderful twists, a snarky, evil Nina, and her badass friends Wanda and Marty.  To my delight, this book brings in previous characters with some slight background, but don’t worry the plot moves forward full speed ahead with constant action and adventure.  You’ll be glued to the story and turning those pages as fast as you can.

Without spoilers, The Accidental Dragon is about friends that become lovers and overcome their tragic pasts that have been holding them back.  Mick and Tessa’s journey is heart-wrenching and beautiful.  Just have some Kleenex nearby.  This story had me crying and laughing.

I love a book with an epilogue because you get to see how the characters you just fell in love with are adjusting to their new lives.  Dakota Cassidy doesn’t disappoint on this front either.

The Accidental Dragon is a wonderful story and I can’t wait to see where the Accidental families end up next!

Blurb/Summary:

Werewolf Freya Ashe—ex-attorney, current quilter—thought things couldn’t get worse after being chosen at the latest mate call by Courtland Dodd, the greasiest, smelliest, dumbest werewolf in forty-nine states.

Until she’s drugged. And accidentally turned into a vampire. And accused of murder. Aaaand, because she’s clearly won the bad-luck lottery, targeted by a lynch mob.

With the help of her newly acquired vampire mate, the sexy and surly Liam McConnell, Freya’s on the lam, unable to trust her own foggy memories and desperate to discover who’s got it in for her. But a small-town enemy could be the least of her problems. Especially when someone truly evil comes calling…

Review:

Part three of Fangs of Anarchy: Fugitives has Freya and Liam on the run.  I’ll try not to spoil anyone’s fun, but the town thinks Freya has done something heinous and she can’t remember what she did or did not do.  Hence, Liam gets them both out of town until they can get to the truth.

Freya is lucky to have her friend Claire and Liam looking out for her.  Claire if you will remember in Fangs of Anarchy 1 really knows how to find trouble and not be able to get out of it without help.  It’s nice to see her nut up and help Freya who finds herself in much the same predicament.

This book episode raised more questions than it answered.  Who committed the heinous act?  Who is trying to frame Freya and why? Why is Liam living so close to the Zone?  What is Liam doing for Courtland Dodd?  Why have they become so close?

Even though there are a lot of unanswered questions, Dakota Cassidy gives us a sneak peek near the end at who might have set up everyone.  We could be in for a couple of major plot twists in the next episode.

Again we are left with the mother of all cliff-hangers.  Hurry up and catch up in this series so you’ll be ready for the next episode!

In the conclusion, Spencer Polanski and Larkin McBride are this close (see fingers pressed almost together) to catching a diabolical killer.

The couple's determined to nab who killed the hunky detective's best friend, and in the process, find a way to make their unusual relationship work.

But an evil plot, and more murder and mayhem, are just as determined to keep them apart...

This is part four and the conclusion to a four-part serial. Thank you for joining Spencer and Larkin on their journey!

Review:

This episode picks up after the cliff-hanger in episode three.  Part four is a page-turning, non-stop action thrill ride.  Everything wraps up in this episode.  We find out who the killer is and more trouble ensues for both Spencer and Larkin.

As expected from a Dakota Cassidy book there is witty dialogue and likable characters.  The characters grew on you throughout the episodes.  As a reader, I would have liked to have seen a final wrap up with Ethan and the parents.  Maybe that will be in another book.

I won’t give away spoilers, but there were some discrepancies at a pivotal point in the book.  Even with the discrepancies, this is an episode not to miss.  If you have been following along then you will want to read about Spencer and Larkin’s HEA ending.

Blurb/Summary:

What's worse than being a paranormal whose every liberty has been stripped away by the human government? For Freya Ashe, maybe it's being a smart, independent werewolf forced to blindly follow sexist pack rules.

Or perhaps being chosen to mate with a wolf who makes her want to slip into something more comfortable...like a coma. Or kinda-sorta falling for Liam McConnell, a vampire who's off limits, no matter how much she lusts after his big, buff bod.

Or maybe it's the blackouts, the drugs, the life-altering species change against her will and, oh yeah, the huge mob outside her door with murder on their minds.

Yep, Freya's quiet life is unraveling at warp speed. Good thing she has a sexy vampire scoundrel to hold on to, huh?

*Author note: Dear readers, this is part two of approximately a five-part serial. You know what that means? That’s right—cliffhangers (cue evil music). But wait! Before you hate, I hear anticipation is good for your complexion, and even your hair. I don’t know if that’s true or just a rumor, but is it worth the risk? Review:

Part two of Fangs of Anarchy: Undone brings us right into the thick of the last cliff-hanger drama.  I won’t ruin it for anyone trying to catch up, but I will say we get to see a very pissed off Freya Ashe.  Unfortunate for Liam McConnell because she’s mad at him and with good reason.

Everything up to this point in Freya Ashe’s life has just been turned upside down and inside out.  She has a lot of adjusting to do and will need Liam’s help.  As it turns out, Freya really doesn’t know a lot about Liam.  How do you trust and accept help from someone that you barely know?  These and many other questions will need to be answered in the next episode of Fangs of Anarchy.

Freya Ashe and Liam McConnell are developing more as characters as the story continues and we learn more about each of them.  These story episodes leave the character development to unfold like peeling away layers of an onion.  We get a little more substance with each new episode.

As of now, I love the personalities that are emerging in the two main characters.  Freya is turning out to be a strong, loving, independent woman.  Liam is an alpha male with a quirky sense of humor and an emerging protective streak he didn’t know he had.

With any good book opera there must be drama to keep us coming back for more.  This episode has plenty of drama between the main characters, but also includes an added bonus of a murder mystery.  Alas, this is where Dakota Cassidy leaves her readers hanging, looking over a cliff into the abyss, and waiting for the next episode.
