Blurb/Summary:

Book two in the Shadowpeak Wolves series.

Cassie Callington has finally met a man who makes her insides quiver, her heartbeat race and her body sizzle. And he barely even knows she’s alive. An enforcer for the Shadowpeak pack, Jay Chance is ripped, sexy, a complete and utter hunk. He’s also out of her league and chasing after another woman. Still, there’s no rule that says she can’t look, right?

Except one night she finds herself doing more than looking, she’s touching, tasting, licking…yum. But it was never meant to be. He’s a werewolf and attracted to someone else. She’s a human and on the next bus out of town. Nope, it would never work. But Jay sees things differently, and comes after her, using some very sensual techniques to persuade her to see things his way. And to taste them his way, and to touch…

Review:

Chasing Cassie by Lorna Jean Roberts is one sexy thrilling read. Cassie underestimates who she is and her worth to those around her finding herself wanting what she thinks she’ll never have. Instead of opening herself up to the possibility she attempts to run. Danger is popping up around her; no one knows who the intended target is.

Jay is one sexy dominating male. He has his own demons to fight with wanting a human. He can’t stay away from Cassie and they’re thrust into an inferno charged affair. He aims for keeps though she is only in it for the now. With his pack under attack he has to make choices, ones Cassie is not understanding of the pack law. I found this read packed with emotions and the attempt to balance a relationship with two separate species and norms of society. I do wish I’d have learned more about the blonde stranger appearing and felt it was left unfinished. Hopefully there’ll be more about him in the next installment. This was one great read.

Blurb/Summary:

The absolute last thing Laney wants or needs is an Alpha werewolf. She fled a life of abuse and neglect at the hands of one, so there’s no way she’s interested in letting another into her life. Not even a sinfully gorgeous specimen. Uh-uh, not interested, not in this lifetime…

Then she meets Cooper Brady—and the man is delicious. Good sense is overwhelmed by the need to touch him, taste him, and perhaps a night of hot, melt-in-your-mouth sex is just what she needs. It’s just a one-night stand after all, no strings attached, no messy goodbyes. Perfect.

Well, it would have been if he wasn’t her mate. Mated life has its upsides, like sizzling, addictive, overwhelming sex—yummm. But lust can’t help her convince Cooper not to wrap her in cotton wool, it can’t help her tame or avoid bitchy packmates and it definitely can’t help her figure out who’s trying to scare her with nightmares from her past.

But hey, it sure does help.

Review:

Loving Laney was such a complex read. Lorna Jean Roberts did an outstanding job weaving such an intense story of heart-breaking abuse and terror into a story that evolved into healing and moving forward. I can’t begin to imagine how hard it was to write such an evocating read.

I fell hard for Laney the heroine who against all odds lived on the outskirts of her pack. I equally fell for the brothers who were helpless to help and those ignorant of what was actually happening to her by someone supposed to love and unconditionally nurture.

And then came Cooper Brady stumbling across something that was his all along. I admired the strength he showed not only in needing to find his own way in life, and acting on it, but in finding Laney and helping her find her own power through his love and support.

I really hated the villains both deceased but not forgotten and those hiding in the shadows to make her life hell. I cried a lot and laughed reading this story. In the end it was one great satisfying read.
