Blurb/Summary:

As a one-time OOPs employee, Ingrid Lawson has seen plenty of paranormal accidents. But witnessing and experiencing are two different things, and she’s perfectly fine being a plain ol’ human. So when her ex-boss Nina schleps her around to estate sales, where she purchases two of the butt-ugliest gargoyles in existence to decorate her hedge maze…what happens next is stone-cold cuckoo.

Suddenly, Ingrid’s beloved career as an animal therapist is on hold as Nina, Wanda, Marty and the OOPs gang help her navigate a rocky new life as a nocturnal paranormal with big horns, bigger ears, and an aversion to sunlight. Oh, and there’s the inconvenient matter of attraction to the man who turned her…who’s so familiar… And did we mention the screeching harpies hellbent on getting their hands on her?

It’s all hands on deck to keep Ingrid alive until the danger passes, but throw in an old enemy they never saw coming, and her case just may be the hardest yet!

***Author Note: This is an Accidental Quickie and shorter in length than prior novels in the series.***

Review:

The Accidental Gargoyle is book 21 in the Accidentally Paranormal Series. It’s cute, quirky, and packed full of non-stop action. This is a short novella and without giving away the whole plot, I’ll say that Ingrid and Griff are polar opposites that come together to make a great couple. The dire circumstances with which they both must face, the supportive OOPs family, and all their rescue pets make for a very enjoyable and exciting journey. As with each book in the Accidental Series the family of characters has grown and the community rallies together. This is an adventure not to be missed in this series.

If this is your first time picking up a book in the Accidentally Paranormal Series then know that there will be a lot of characters that play a part in this story, but each have had their own stories. The main characters Ingrid and Griff are forging a relationship in this tale, so it’s okay to jump into the series as long as you don’t mind missing background on the other characters. Dakota Cassidy does a great job of giving new readers just enough information to keep the story moving and entice readers to try previous books.

The cover art done by Katie Wood is gorgeous!

Blurb/Summary:

A Monstrum Warrior who has vowed never to Claim a bride…

An older woman, who thinks she’s done with Love…

Can they come together to save the Earth…and each other?

What’s the worst Christmas present imaginable? A cheating husband? An angry mob outside your front door? What about Menopause? Minister Emilia Oxley has gotten all three this Yuletide season and she could do without them all, thank you very much.

Enter Chief Commander Rarev, the leader of the Monstrum Kindred. He’s had his eye on Emilia from the start. Her courage and determination are incredibly attractive to him, as are her lovely full curves. Also, he can tell by her scent that she’s entering her Second Mating Period—the time of life when a female is most attractive to a Feline Monstrum. Since Rarev is a Lionus Monstrum, he can’t help but notice that Emilia is ripe for the plucking.

After he rescues her from an angry mob, the two of them find themselves on a mission to Rigellen Five. There they must compete against three other couples in a series of Trials to earn the right to mine Yillium. The rare mineral is what the Monstrum need in order to defend the Earth from the Darklings, ravenous creatures from another universe which are threatening to overrun the planet. Only if Em and Rarev win the Rigellen Trials can they gain the rights to the Yillium. But since the Rigellen people believe in public displays affection, the Trials are an intimate affair—extremely intimate.

Can Em and Rarev come together to save the Earth…and might they find love in the process? Read Loved by the Lion to find out!

*Author's note--there is a scene in here that might bother anyone who has ever been attacked before, but I promise it comes out all right in the end. Please read responsibly!

Review:

This is the best time to jump into this series if you haven’t been following Evangeline Anderson already. Although this is book 40 in the series the author has introduced a new type of Kindred called Monstrum and this is still very early on in the development.

I really enjoyed the journey between Minister Emilia Oxley and Chief Commander Rarev. They are both brave, self-sacrificing, and loyal servants to their people. Their willingness to sacrifice themselves and make the best decisions for their constituents is what brings them together.

Loved by the Lion has a lot of smoldering suspense that leads to burning desire between Emilia and Rarev. The Kindred type may be different, but the Monstrum have all the protective instincts of the original Kindred. This protective streak added to a very interesting story with creative and imaginative characters.

Blurb/Summary:

A warrior who thinks he’s too old to find love
A desperate woman with a dark past
Can Makenna be…Saved by the Beast?

Are you ever too old for love? Bard, a Beast Kindred, thinks he is. He lost his wife twenty years ago when he was just a young warrior and he’s never looked at another female since. But when he sees a young woman being sold to a disgusting Trollox on Passion Prime, he has to rescue her from her horrible fate.

Makenna knows she barely escaped, but even safe aboard the Mother Ship with Bard, she is still in danger. She’s about to undergo her first “ripening”—a period of intense sexual need that can lead to death if she has no male to help her. Naturally, she wants Bard to be that male—she knows the moment she meets him that he is the one for her.

Unfortunately, the big Beast Kindred has other ideas. Though he longs for the curvy little female, he pushes Makenna away, certain that he’s too old for her. But when he pushes her too far, the Trollox she was promised to is ready to snatch her back. Now a battle of life and death is being played in the lush, blue jungles of Rageron, the Beast Kindred home world.
Will Bard get to Makenna in time? Read, Saved by the Beast to find out!

Trigger Warning: Anyone who has experienced sexual abuse may find parts of this book disturbing due to the heroine’s backstory. I try to keep these details in the background and not dwell on them, but I wanted to warn you just in case. Please read responsibly!

Review:

Although this book is part of a series, I did not find that I needed to have read all the previous stories in chronological order to enjoy Saved by the Beast. If this is the first book you are thinking about picking up by Evangeline Anderson in the Kindred World then there are a couple of things you need to know. The Kindred race is a warrior race made up of mostly males that worships a Goddess and they revere and protect females. The female that they bond to for life is sacred to them and to be protected always. Commander Bard in Saved by the Beast is exactly what you would expect from a protective Kindred when he finds a female in danger and distress.

Makenna has been taken off her home world to be trafficked and sold into sexual slavery. The final transaction is about to take place when Bard steps in. There is obviously abuse in this story, but the focus of the plot is in getting Makenna help and protecting her. I’ll admit the trigger warning at the beginning of the book had me wary, but the story was crafted carefully.

I enjoyed the journey that Bard and Makenna, an older Kindred and younger humanoid, took to develop a relationship. The creative imagination and world building in this story give us some very unique characters.

The main characters and plot focus surrounds Bard and Makenna, but there are characters on stage from previous stories. By the end of Saved by the Beast readers are clued into the next installment of the series.

Saved by the Beast is a sensual, erotic science fiction novella with interesting characters, a solid plot, and creative world construction. The story is an excellent transition novella for the series.

Blurb/Summary:

Never promise a fey anything.

With magic leaking back into our world, working the nightshift as a paramedic comes with danger. But I handle it. I’ve got a shotgun for the zombies and my lycanthropic rage hasn’t escaped my apartment. Life is normal-ish. All that changes when I’m called to help a dying fey knight and I make a promise.

There’s a little girl with big eyes and a heart-rending sniffle. I can’t say no. Of course she’s not human. She’s their key to opening the long-closed gates and feasting on humanity.

Now an entire world I know nothing about is trying to kill me. And if I don’t protect her, the teeth around my heart will finish the job. If I learn fast and bargain the right parts of my soul, the girl and I might make it out alive. Otherwise the cruelest winter will freeze even the warmest hearts in the city.

Read my story now and ride along for a wild Emergency Shift.

Review:

Emergency Shift is a great new series debut novel. It has all the urban fantasy you might be craving. The characters are interesting and have some depth to them that will no doubt evolve as the series does.

There is a prequel to this first book, but I didn’t get a chance to read it yet. The story flowed smoothly with the author filling in necessary information so it was fine to explore without the prequel, Twilight Run.

If you enjoy fantasy and fey stories set both in our world with access to theirs, then check this story out. Emergency Shift is fast-paced, full of lore, and has an engaging plot with a touch of horror.

Blurb/Summary:

Welcome to Marshmallow Hollow, Maine, a holiday mystery, where it's all Christmas all the time and murder is hung by the chimney with care...

Hellooo! I'm at it again, and only a day after my last run-in with a killer!

Hobbs and I are growing closer and closer, but there always seems to be a mystery waiting for us just around the corner, nipping at our heels and thwarting our hot romance.

A very nice waiter named Joey Scarpetti, from the Marshmallow Hollow Ski Lodge is dead, and it happened in my backyard in my pear tree, no less. So what’s a girl to do but investigate?

On top of that, I catch Hobbs having coffee with a very stylish, flawlessly beautiful, natural blonde (hair envy here!), and I’m in a bit of a tizzy.

But when I have a gruesome vision of a young woman, so grief-stricken she wants to leave this plane forever, I know I have to find out if my vision is from a future event and if so, is there a way I can prevent a horrible tragedy?

All bets are off the table as I hunt for a killer and try and save a young woman’s life!

Review:

Carnage in a Pear Tree picks up right where One Corpse Open Slay ended. It was fun to be back in Marshmallow Hollow with such great characters. Halliday’s secret gets explored more by Hobbs and he has a lot to take in throughout the book. Readers are in for a treat as Hobbs has his own secret to reveal.

This story has a great plot and covers a hard-hitting topic. The pace and twists will keep you turning the pages. Carnage in a Pear Tree lets us enjoy some more of the townies and everyday life in Marshmallow Hollow. As always with this series, the main mystery is wrapped up by the end of the book so there are no cliff-hangers.

I think this book is pivotal to the series as the secrets revealed may shape their future together. Don’t miss out, read it now!

Add in the matron of honors dead twin, who appears to be desperately trying to get some kind of message to us, Belfry who's behaving strangely, and more poofy pink dresses than you can count, and you've got yourself a mystery.

A mystery we're determined to solve! The gang's all here. Join us for another romp in Witchless in Seattle, won't you?

Review:

Great to see Stevie and Win in action together with their sidekicks Arkady and Belfry. Where There’s a Witch, There’s a Way is an interesting murder mystery with lots of action, both normal and paranormal. I think one of the characters was channeling her inner “Nina” (from the Accidental Series) the whole book. The murder mystery is well done and all wrapped up for us by the end of the book.

Dana has become more involved with Win and there are some intriguing side effects of their relationship. As a reader, I hope that they all get to work on a case together in the future.

It was nice to see Stevie and Win’s relationship progressing with more teasing about wedding plans and some dates sprinkled into the story.

This was a fun book and a great addition to the series.

Absolutely amazing ending to what has been a journey of epic proportions. Dianna Love hit it out of the park with this final book. She even manages to throw in some major plot twists that no one will see coming.

Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador World: Book 9 is constant non-stop action from beginning to end. Everything you have been wanting to see answered has a conclusion of some sort.

I love this book and didn’t want it to end. This final book met all my expectations as a reader and then some.

I’m hoping to see some of these characters play out roles in future books. There are so many stories that can still be told and Dianna Love made it so we can jump back into this wonderful fantasy world that she created.

Review:

Bear Vet: Shifter Vets #2 was a cute story with a lot of heart. This story focused on family and relationships and how it all worked for them. I enjoyed the dynamics and found them entertaining.

The romance between Judy and Waylon progressed as you would expect with a fated shifter mate, but there was a slow burn due to an existing child in the mix. This was not an overly exotic or sexually explicit paranormal romance story.

The author has a wonderful imagination and let it ride with all the different magical creatures in this book. I found myself intrigued by this new world Zoe Chant created and will be seeking out further books by this author.

Macha is shocked to discover firsthand just how crazy, and deadly, Queen Maeve has become.

In spite of every effort by the dragon king, Beladors, and their allies to fight on, they are losing ground as the Imortiks continue to escape from more rifts.

Review:

All of the subplots and characters in motion are racing towards a resolution. Not sure if all the outcomes will be pleasant. Blurb/Summary:

At a fateful New Year’s Eve party, Georgina Maverick, a little bit drunk, a lot mired in guilt from her tortured past, trips and falls off a rooftop, tumbling ten stories to her almost death.

Little does George know, her friend and co-worker, Dexter Bridger, the man she discovers also happens to be her guardian angel, is on the case. He saves her from landing toe up in the mortuary, but he opens an entire can of worms when he nicks her shoulder and turns George into an angel, too.

With the help of the OOPS ladies and some divine intervention from Dex, George is learning how to be a guardian angel in the hope she can earn her permanent wings. But it ain’t easy when your newbie wings are strap-on (you read that right), and your angelic glow nearly fries the eyeballs right out of the head of your new cranky, vampire friend.

But worse? All the secrets that haunt both George and Dex are coming home to roost.

For instance, how did Dex become a guardian angel anyway, and why doesn’t he have his permanent wings after all this time? And for the love of all that’s good looking, why is he so stupid cute? How can a girl focus on getting it together with that kind of distraction?

Yet for George, the questions cut far deeper. Why is it so hard to overcome her brutal past and find the thing she’s always wanted—peace of mind and acceptance? And how the heck is she supposed to be someone’s guardian angel and guide them to emotional safety when her own life is such a wreck?

Worst of all? Who’s been lurking in the shadows trying to steal George’s wings? Because if someone gets their hands on her wings, guess what?

She loses her soul.

Forever…

Review:

Accidentally Divine book 20 of the Accidental Series was a complete page turner. Our hero, Dexter Bridger, and heroine, Georgina Maverick, are brought to life on the pages with real life hard-hitting problems and issues. They have both experienced past traumas that have shaped the people/angels they have become.

The OOPs ladies, Nina, Marty, Wanda, and crew play a crucial role just by being who they are as a family. They pull together and rally around another accidental turning and make some great friends along the way.

This was a fun and heartfelt story that had me laughing and crying. Don’t miss out on Dexter and Georgina’s journey. I will be looking forward to seeing how Dakota Cassidy uses her angels in future books.

Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador World: Book 7 had a wonderful pace and great momentum from beginning to end. Readers are treated to more history from a long gone by era that sheds light on Daegan’s past as well as other characters.

Followers of the series will know from book six that there is an awful lot in motion right now. Book seven pushes those issues to the forefront and forces characters to make decisions and take action. Things are all coming to a head as there are only two more books left.

This was a fun read with details you won’t want to miss. There is a doozy of a cliff-hanger at the end like the other books. Each book is like a season finale as you wait for the next season to start. Fortunately for us Dianna Love has been kind and the wait will only be a few months.

I received and ARC for an honest review.
