Lacey Wolfe, Accidental Love

Blurb/Summary:

(Hot Bods Series, Book 3)

Has Jane accidentally fallen for the decoy? Sometimes there is only one thing to do when you get dumped—make the ex jealous with someone new. Which is exactly what Jane plans to do with Ben, an older, handsome man who has agreed to act as her new love interest.

When Ben meets Toby, Jane's unruly dog, he offers to help her train him. But as Ben helps Jane gain control of her dog, he realizes he's lost control of his feelings, and he's beginning to fall for the much younger woman.

Suddenly, Jane can't seem to remember what she ever saw in her ex. All she can focus on is the way Ben makes her feel each time he kisses her. But now the ex has decided he wants her back, and he's willing to play dirty to make it happen.

Content Warning: Explicit sex

Review:

This was a fun, happy, quick read!  Ms. Wolfe did a fine job detailing the life Jane lives prior to meeting Ben as well as his effect on her life. Her ex is “the guy we all love to hate” and his characterization is spot-on.

The character of Francesca, Jane’s new best friend, becomes more interesting as the story progresses; I would like to see her get her own story.

The plot progresses at a nice, even pace without any serious deviations to detract from the story of Ben and Jane.  I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fast bit of older man/younger woman romance.

Tagline:   Sephina is about to trade one addiction for another—and his name is Axel

Blurb/Summary:

Sephina Antara has gotten into a lot of trouble as a sex demon with a drug addiction. Moving to a new village was supposed to help her get clean. But when she relapses, it comes with a side of hot dragon man.

Axel Stavros may be a drug dealer, but he's also the town healer. Half-human, half-dragon, his blood can cure just about anything, but it has some erotic side effects for its user, as the new beauty in town is about to find out…

Content Warning: graphic language, hot foreplay, and even hotter sex, including light bondage and some girl-on-girl action.

Review:

The third book in The Sex Demon Trilogy, Addictions of a Sex Demon, definitely turns up the heat.  A climactic end to a wonderful series.

Sephina is a struggling addict who desperately wants to get clean. Starting fresh in a new town, leaving behind the bad influences, and even worse memories is a good start.  As the story progresses, Sephina struggles internally, not only with her addiction but the fear of being a disappointment to those who love her the most.  Sephina’s character is very well written and balanced.  From the weakness she displays through her struggle with drugs to the strength she demonstrates when it means protecting not only the man she falls in love with but his entire race as well.

Axel is not your ordinary drug dealer; he heals during the day and deals in the night all in an effort to keep the village he lives in safe and clean.  Axel displays chivalry throughout the book but make no mistake, he will kill in order to keep his loved ones safe.  Axel is hot.  Literally and figuratively.  As a quetzalem (dragon demon) his race has been hunted to near extinction for their blood.  He can ignite a flame within his lovers that can actually set them on fire.  Not many women can take the heat that is Axel, but in Sephina he has met his perfect match.

Jaye Shields has proven herself as a highly talented author of fantasy and erotic literature.  Addictions of a Sex Demon is a wonderful story that really draws the reader in and captivates them with sensuality as well as adventure.  This book could easily be read as a stand-alone but be advised that once you read this tale, it will be incredibly hard to resist picking up the other two books.

Tagline:  Zahra proves that sex demons do it better as she goes from captive to captivator.

Blurb/Summary:

Sex Demon Zahra Aniron is a closet romantic. Too bad she spends her time having hot, kinky sex with paying strangers. But she needs the money to pay off her sister's debt to wizard thugs. There could be worse things than getting paid for pleasure, especially since a sex demon needs climax to survive.

As a blacksmith, Lennox Aegros puts his fury to good use pounding steel into swords. When he arrives at a new town, his real cause for being there isn't to sell weaponry, it's for revenge. When he finds the succubus he's been searching for, her beauty means he can mix business with pleasure. But the joke's on Lennox, because as he succeeds in torturing his victim by repeatedly bringing her to the brink of orgasm and then denying her the release that she so desperately needs, he realizes that Zahra's slow demise means the breaking of a heart he didn't think he had.

Content Warning: strong language, graphic sex, light BDSM scenes

Review:

They say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.  Lennox proves otherwise.  Hell hath no fury like a lover scorned.  Determined to take his rage out on somebody, the sister of the demon who stole his wife seems to be the perfect target.  Not only is she his only sister, but she's also a succubus, a whore who doesn't deserve even the slightest empathy.  In this story, we really get to see all sides of Lennox.  From the loving and sensual side that book one painted of him to the tormented soul that the infidelity inevitably creates.  Lennox is so much more than the "psychopath" kidnapper of a succubus whore, and watching his walls all come shattering down is an emotional roller coaster.

Zahra is so much more than a succubus, so much more than a whore, so much more than an ordinary woman.  She is the embodiment of strength, courage, and selflessness as she takes on the debts of not only her adopted sister, but unknowingly her brother as well.  As the story progresses, she proves that although she willingly plays and entertains paying partners and gains vitality from each climax they bring, she doesn't do it simply for her own gain.  When Lennox's torture leaves her on the verge of death, the thought of saving her sister is the only thing that drives her to survive.  Her bravery and resolve combined with her wit and sarcasm make her an easy heroine to fall in love with.

Lennox and Zahra's story is the second in the series and does not disappoint.  This book packs even more emotion, heat, and conflict than the first in the series and definitely keeps the reader captivated from beginning to end.  The author once again paints the realm perfectly and enables the reader to become completely engulfed in the world she created.  There were several points in the story that elicited emotional responses as the reader relates to the characters and their struggles.  The editing is clean and the cover art is alluring.  This book deserves a five Siren Stone rating because it works well as a stand-alone but creates a desire within the reader to become even more familiar with the secondary characters.  Well done.

Tagline:  It's not easy for a sex demon to find a wife; it's even harder when the perfect woman is already taken.

Blurb/Summary:

(The Sex Demon Trilogy, Book 2)

Emmerie Winter has only been married a few months, but depression has made her a fragile stranger in the arms of her husband. She knows she should love him, but she doesn't, and no matter how hard she tries, she can't convince her heart otherwise.

When a sex demon with a boyish grin and a sinful body arrives in town, Emmerie's world is turned upside down. His intense passion for life sends her depression into hiding, but her feelings for the sinful male could get her in deep trouble.

A sex demon needs climax to survive, but that's never been a problem for Reza Aniron as women seem to be unable to resist his charms…all except for one, a timid, blonde angel who treats him with complete indifference. But in her eyes he can see a fire that's just waiting to be released. And he always did love a challenge.

Content Warning: strong language, extramarital relations, and graphic erotic situations

Review:

The relationship between Emmerie and Lennox is both sweet and heartbreaking.  Emmerie is a genuinely good soul trapped by depression fueled by the guilt of not truly loving her husband as a wife should.  Lennox loves his wife and would do anything to earn her adoration in return.  Having known each other since childhood and being betrothed to one another makes their union ideal in the eyes of the community but to Emmerie, just creates endless torment.

Reza is everything a sex demon is notorious for.  He is exotic and charming.  His mischievous grin paired with his sinful confidence make him a magnet to women throughout the world and an unwelcome visitor in this small village.  Afraid his presence will stir the women of the town into a frenzy, the men are constantly on their guard around him.  Still, he continues to swoon and satisfy ladies without hesitation; that is, until he met a forbidden angel.

The relationship between Reza and Emmerie is complex and full of emotional conflict.  His desire for her is undeniable and her skepticism of his sincerity is completely understandable.  Their interactions are passionate and heated and watching Emmerie blossom from an empty shell of a human to a being full of life and zest is wonderful.

Claiming of a Sex Demon is an incredibly sweet story with a satisfying happily ever after.  The author paints a clear portrait of the characters and the realm in which they dwell, making the story easy to become lost in.  The conflict between characters as well as the emotional torment creates a perfect balance to the tenderness throughout.  This book is definitely a book to keep and invokes interest to read the remaining books of the series.

Tagline:  Lovers torn apart by duty…will Angelo and Lena be reunited?

Blurb/Summary:

Mankind is close to extinction. Toxins have all but wiped out the male population. The remaining fertile men are housed in manors where their seed is collected. Lena Lee is a new collector with a rare pheromone believed to reignite human fertility. She's assigned a male who's predicted to be her perfect match. Angelo, a clockwork butterfly maker, is held captive, his essence harvested daily by Lena. Over time, the couple begins to fall in love, something which is strictly prohibited. When their forbidden love is discovered, Lena is banished from the manor. Torn apart by the duty that brought them together, Lena and Angelo must find a way back to each other. But even if Angelo manages to escape, he doesn't know where to find Lena. Will following the path of the clockwork butterfly lead him to his true love?

Content Warning: strong language, BDSM, and graphic sexual content, including m/f, f/f, and f/f/m sexual interaction

Review:

Lena begins as a naive girl, ignorant to the ways of the world around her.  Socially and sexually awkward, she enters her role as a collector with bitterness towards the enormous responsibility before her.  Mae is cunning and sensual, the perfect balance to Lena’s naiveté.  Taking Lena under her wing to teach her quickly becomes more than her job, as their relationship blossoms.  Lena is just another assignment, right?  Mae has others with whom she’s assigned to “teach” and Lena is a collector now and her duty is to Angelo.  Feelings are forbidden, but can they be restrained?

Angelo, one of the last men on the planet, a prisoner in a lush cell. Angelo is Lena’s perfect match, chemically.  Together their essences are the key to the repopulation of the male species.  Their encounters are brief and purposeful, but the attraction between them is undeniable and soon they discover they are perfect for each other more than chemically.  They put everything on the line, including the repopulation of the earth, to be together but when Lena is sent away will all hope for happiness be lost to all three of them?

Sexy.  Erotic.  Emotional.  A Clockwork Butterfly by Tabitha Rayne is a creative tale of a future where men are nearly extinct.  Crisp and descriptive, Tabitha has made it easy for the reader to become immersed in the world she has created while the explicit sexual interactions paired with the author’s ability to convey the passion shared by the characters keeps the reader engaged.  The gravity of the situation (the extinction of the human race as well as the eventual rescue of Lena) could have been more developed creating a more intense feeling of urgency.  The open ended conclusion definitely leaves the reader to wonder where this threesome is headed next and wanting more of the sexy trio.

In order to smother this dark, sinister spirit, and perhaps find true and lasting happiness with each other, the living must learn to let go, give in, and leave their ghosts in the past.

Content Warning: Contains sensual sex and some explicit language

Review:
It's not over until the rock star dies...No, that's definitely not the case.  This isn't a rock and roll fantasy, it's hell.  And when it's time to break free, the hell only gets worse.

You can envy Josie all you want, but if anyone knew the truth, the heartbreaking secret she bears, one would know that being the wife of a famous star isn't all it's cracked up to be.  But Josie is strong enough now, she's ready to go.  But that won't stop her husband.

A Death That Lingers thrills.  The plot was crafted to keep readers begging for more.  A little dark, a little paranormal, the author has created a story that keeps us on our toes.  You won't know what to expect next.  If you enjoy a well written story, A Death That Lingers is one you should add to your list.

Blurb/Summary:

Shy, awkward receptionist Katherine Sierra wants to explore her sexually submissive side. Although new to the BDSM world, she’s eager to learn. When she attends a play party and submits an application to one of the most experienced Doms in the room, she has no idea what she’s gotten herself into. Successful businessman and hardcore Dominant Lucas Cain knows his way around a playroom and doesn’t normally take on brand new subs. He’s apprehensive about training someone so innocent, but the more time he spends with Katherine the more intrigued he becomes. She may be everything he’s been searching for. But when Lucas requests that Colin, his friend and mentor, join them in the playroom for an evening of fun, it just might change everything. Has Lucas broken his own rule and fallen in love with his sub?

Content Warning: strong language, graphic sex, BDSM themes

Review:

Be My Everything by Ella Jade is a great erotic romance story. As the story starts out the reader gets a look into the stages and progression of a new submissive entering the BDSM world. Katherine is a submissive who is also strong willed and knows what she wants. She is willing to undergo much to achieve her goals.

Luke is a long-time Dominant that is established in the BDSM community. He could have any submissive that he wanted, but Katherine and her naivety called to him. Luke finds that he really likes going back to the basics and teaching.

Katherine and Luke have a kind of backwards relationship, instead of dating and then getting intimate the two of them got intimate right away and then got to know one another. As a reader, you will love the emotional journey that Katherine and Luke take together and how they progress in their relationship. This is a very sensual and erotic story, but love is most definitely prominent.

Ella Jade does a nice job of setting up conflicts for the characters to overcome while keeping the plot moving forward. With each new conflict we learn more about the characters and Katherine and Luke learn more about each other.

This is a well written story, unfortunately it does have some editing issues and a blank page in the middle of the story, but don’t let the distractions keep you from a great story. I will be looking for other creations by Ella Jade.

Tagline: For some people ghosts are everywhere…

Blurb/Summary:

Winter Creek, Montana Series

When rebuilding an old ghost town, a few ghosts shouldn’t be a surprise. And for Jen Ferguson, history professor and psychic, it’s par for the course. But ghosts aren’t her main worry. After a disastrous affair, which has affected her job at the college, Jen promised her grandfather—the most important person in her life—that she would stay away from men until the end of the semester. That’s a promise she’s determined to keep, but when she meets rancher Adam Craine, it becomes a struggle. Adam’s sexy and flirty, and her psychic abilities are telling her that he might possess a very important quality the previous men in her life had been lacking…he can be trusted. It’s a daily battle for Jen to keep her hands off of him, but she believes she can do it…until two of Winter Creek’s ghostly residents decide to up the stakes by possessing Jen and Adam’s bodies. How can Jen keep her promise with these two passionate spirits interfering? And if all that’s not enough to deal with, now she’s having premonitions of danger which could lead to the destruction of Winter Creek.

Review:

Imagine spirits trying to take over your life. They're harmless, really, but they sure are a nuisance. Especially when they're trying to “help” you do something that you shouldn't be doing.

Jen just wants to stay away from men. She's had a disastrous relationship in the past, and she's just made a promise to the most important person in her life. Easy peasy, right?

Nope. In walks Adam and she can't help it. And despite her resistance, those pesky spirits have other plans.....

Forgotten Memories is a great story if you like a little smidge of paranormal in a contemporary romance. I love ghost stories, and this one was right up my alley. It's a bit eerie at times, which I like, it's witty, and fun. Theresa Stillwagon creates a memorable story within the pages. The characters are great and the pacing just keeps getting more intense. I'd suggest not missing this novel.
